  1. Good morning all. I haven't checked in for a while as I've been working none stop so I thought I'd drop by and say hi. I'm exactly 1 month and 10 days into my strict carnivore on a tight budget and no alcohol life. I know this because my quit drinking app has just sent me a congratulatory message with cartoon party poppers and balloons. It's all going very well with only the occasional "nice cold beer" urge which I just ignore. I've noticed that my appetite has changed over the last week or so. Initially I was eating three large meals a day with great pleasure but that's becoming less. I've started skipping breakfast because I'm just not hungry and also what i want to eat is changing. Ground beef is slowly becoming a bit of a chore and I don't feel like downing the fatty juice which at the start i loved. If I never see a sardine again in my life I'll be a happy man and even buttery scrambled eggs are a bit tiresome. Something I imagined would never happen. If I were a rich man I'd do steaks all day, every day but alas, I am not. I appear to have kicked myself out of ketosis according to my dubious and slightly beyond their sell by date pee strips which might have to do with a bag of pork rinds I inhaled recently. I only realized in hindsight that they had been cooked in seed oil but I don't know whether to trust the old pee strips. I feel great but my weight loss seems to have plateaued a bit. I'm wondering what to do about, boredom would be too strong a word but the sameiness of the diet. I've been completely avoiding cheese. Pork and chicken is always a pleasure. But, getting to my cravings question. I've had next to zero urges over the last weeks. Don't need veges or sweet stuff or junk. However, the last few days I've had an overwhelming urge to eat honey dew melon. Really strong. I can taste it it's so strong. I'm starting to wonder if the old bod is trying to tell me that there is something I'm missing. Either that or I'm pregnant which would come as a bit of a shock considering that I'm a middle aged man with a big beard. Anyway, Just wanted to get the communities take on it. Hope you all have a great day.
  2. Hi Bob. I'm 16 days in now with the "diet" and no alcohol and I haven't felt this good in years. Apart from losing a few Kilograms already, my mood is consistently positive, lots of aches and pains that have plagued me for many years have pretty much gone, I'm convinced that my eyesight has improved a little and many other good changes. The only concerns I have if you can call them that is that going to the bathroom has become a rare and occasionally "interesting" experience and my sleep is a bit broken but I'm assuming that's more than likely my brain adjusting after years of heavy drinking. I think what I'd like to do next is understand the science behind this lifestyle a little better. One of the main reasons I'm doing this is to lose weight and I'd like to understand fat to protein ratios, what the best amount to eat is in a day and all of that sort of business.
  3. Thanks! This is going to be a good journey. Jesse
  4. I'd been Vegan for many years until a year ago when I went to visit a buddy in Cushing, Oklahoma. I was staying at his folks place. They weren't drinkers and it was clear that I could forget being vegan whilst i was there. I stayed for a month, lots of meat and eggs, no alcohol, sleeping like a baby and felt so good I thought "this means something" 🙂 A year later and falling off the wagon too many times I decided last week that something has to change before i get irreversibly sick. I'm totally convinced that I'm going to stick to this. It's clear to me that this is the right way to live. A few of my vegan/vege friends are going to be disappointed but hey, this just makes sense.
  5. Thanks Geezy! I'm just blown away by how different I'm feeling after only a few days. I woke up happy and looking forward to the day this morning! I can't remember the last time that happened.
  6. Hello everyone. Very happy to have found this site. I'm only 5 days into a carnivore diet and no alcohol having been a heavy drinker for most of my life and all of the things those youtube channels tell you seem to be true. Feel like a new man.
