Carnivore! Is it a DIET or a LIFESTYLE?

We talked about the carnivore lifestyle, or carnivore way of eating. I try to be careful how I use the word diet, because I don't like the word. I don't want to infer that this is something that we are just going to do temporarily. I constantly call it a lifestyle. Yes, it's a diet in that it is a way of eating, but it's a permanent diet.

I think the two words can be differentiated by time. I'm not quite 11 months in and a lot of the time I still consider it a carnivore diet. At some point I will call it a lifestyle. I think that measurement of time is different for everyone.

At the same time, I don't like using the word diet. I think all diets work for a time and then they all fail within time. It is almost a bad word, but it sort of fits.

Great topic.

The two can be synonymous. It's just that "diet" has taken on additional meanings over the years.

Diet: habitual nourishment

Lifestyle: the typical way of life of an individual, group, or culture
