The BBC just put the carnivore diet on trial. In a Clickbait Clinic segment with Stacey Dooley, and in a companion article by Dr. Alex George, the verdict was that a meat-only diet comes with long-term health risks and that he would not advise it because it raises "bad" cholesterol. The article calls the evidence unambiguous. The segment says an extreme meat-only diet can be bad for your heart.
Tonight we walk through what they actually claimed. No real evidence it helps. Red meat and cancer. LDL and heart disease. Fiber and carbohydrates as essential. Mediterranean as the better option. Then we put those claims next to the Harvard carnivore survey, the difference between fresh meat and processed meat, and a randomized trial where keto beat Mediterranean on liver fat and prediabetes at the same weight loss.
