I'm with Geezy. I consider myself carnivore (I now think I am in a carnivore lifestyle after 17 months as for the longest I considered it a carnivore diet-changes with time) but I do get some sugars in here and there with the protein supplements I am using. For me, the tad bits of sugar here and there have boosted my appetite.
I have more than surpassed the weight loss goals and the bonus plan was I hit a bunch of metabolic and overall health achievements that I didn't know were possible when I first started. Sort of like the bonus plan.
I believe in individual continual improvements. Most come to carnivore off some sort of dumpster diet, or from a dumpster diet to a keto type diet and then on to carnivore. We all vary. Once we have made improvements there may be some adjustments to continue health improvements or get a person to a spot where they can 'enjoy' other foods (responsibly and maybe in moderation, but enjoy them the same) and still eat primary carnivore.
Our ancestors ate fruits and vegetables and plant matter regularly when they were available or in season. Granted they didn't spray them and color them and preserve them to ship them all over the world year around but they did eat them. I am sure we could do the same and be very healthy.
I have done so well on the pretty much strict carnivore I don't see me changing anytime soon. I am not the luckiest guy in the world and I am sure which ever carb I choose will be the one that triggers my auto immune issues. Somedays, I just 'got it like that'.
I do see many bailing on the lifestyle but like Geezy said, a lot of those videos turn out to be click bait. And, for most, click bait works cause they keep doing it. LOL

    Welcome Mary.
I’ve been seeing many of those click bait posts on Utube here lately but it’s just that…click bait. Many people don’t really understand carnivore. Carnivore is not a true zero carb diet. There is no such thing as even eating all fat and protein you will still get some carbs. Even if you intentionally eat a few carby items now and then it doesn’t mean you aren’t carnivore. Even the lion and the wolf will eat grass occasionally.
Carnivore is about providing your body with the optimal food to get the optimal nutrition that it runs best on and that’s animal fats and proteins. If one is eating a diet that consists primarily of those two items I think they could still be considered carnivore. Some purists might disagree and that’s their prerogative to do so but that wouldn’t make them right, only dogmatic.

In the morning I will be going to the Columbus Ohio Healing Humanity Meatup....

According to the website, Dr. Robert Kiltz, Kerry Mann, Jen Mann, Adam Lacy, Ashley Rogers, Dr. Nelson Vazquez, Ed Coleman, Russ Mitchell, and Robyn Herron will all be there. I bought the VIP pass so I can wine and dine with them afterwards, lol.
I might try to vlog the experience.

But since people (except my wife, also a carnivore) act like it's the craziest thing in the world, I figure I better get connected.
We came to this nutrition approach via keto after listening to the podcast The Sacred Cow. Until going carnivore, I was like that woman on the commercial where she said that anywhere she went, she always makes sure to know where the bathroom is (sorry, can't recall the product they were selling). Digestion was better on keto but completely transformed doing carnivore.
My wife and I both lost significant weight even though we were both already very healthy. I recently realized after seeing pictures of myself from a recent trip that I was so into being lean that I had lost a lot of muscle.
Listening to an interview with Dr Chaffe opened my eyes to the change in hunger signals that is possible on carnivore and realized I needed to up my protein and get busy in the gym!
Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing where I can.

I believe in being honest with doctors and everyone for that matter but be careful with an insurance company. They may use what you say against you. You can still be honest but you don’t have to be completely forthright.

Hello, I'm Kate and I'm returning to the carnivore diet for the 4th time. This time I'm hoping for a support community that can help keep me motivated and on track.
I have been diagnosed with Axial Spondyloarthritis, an autoimmune/autoinflammatory disease, that has many effects on my body that I want to stop from progressing. When I go full carnivore my symptoms resolve and I have no signs of disease activity. It's a wonder I keep going on and off carnivore right? Well sugar addiction is real and lack of support doesn't help. Hopefully I can change that this time and stick to carnivore and stay healthy for life. Nice to meet everyone in advance and hope to connect with as many of you as I can.
