  1. I would just like to state the main reason I have 0 trust in the modern day medical establishment is, because, with all the modern testing equipment, with all the advanced medical knowledge and with all these modern miracle drugs, people on this planet continue to get sicker and fatter and have more autoimmune diseases than ever before. This is unacceptable and should be going the other way around.
  2. I have just had one of the most harrowing experiences of my life. Starting sometime around 8/14, I started feeling weak and tired. I had no appetite whatsoever. This weakness continued on till 8/16 at which time I started to get worried. I took an at home covid-19 test...negative. Things continued to get worse. So I went to the ER in the morning of 8/17. I told them I have lack of energy and dizziness upon exertion and general malaise. So I was brought back and they did some blood work and found I was dehydrated and my electrolytes were out of balance. So they introduced some IV fluids, saline, and within 3 hours I felt much better. I figured that should have ended there, however they pointed out that my troponins were elevated, I don't know how high, they just said elevated.(which is a heart enzyme released when there is damage to the heart muscle) and which can also be elevated for other reasons. I was therefore admitted to the hospital for further testing. They did another ECG, as well as a heart echo cardiogram, and a leg ultrasound, looking for DVT and found nothing of concern. Throughout the night they gave me more electrolytes, saline (sodium), potassium and magnesium. I continued to improve. At one point I stated that I would like to go home, because I felt almost completely normal. No dizziness, no weakness. And that's when things started getting crazy. The doc told me that because my troponins were elevated that he would like to do some more testing and keep me for observation. I declined all of that. And of course he wanted to put me on a statin. I of course declined that as well. So I was signed out AMA (Against Medical Advice). When I was signed out and just about to leave, in walks the cardiologist, telling me how much she cares about my welfare and asks if I could do one simple test just to make sure I'm OK. That would be a quick walk on the treadmill. I agreed. It was a little bit more involved than just a quick walk, but anyway they hooked up these probes to my chest for ECG measurements and took a before picture of my heart with ultrasound. Then walking on the treadmill I got my HR close to maximum, then another after picture was taken with ultrasound. The cardiologist came back in and confirmed what I already knew (after reviewing the before and after ultrasound pictures) that I wasn't going to die of a heart attack any time soon, if at all, ever. I actually used to have a little bit of faith in the medical establishment, but after this last encounter I have lost all faith in doctors and hospitals. They are like a car salesman and I believe they will try to up sell you every chance they can. These are just my opinions and some other individuals have probably had more positive outcomes, but most of mine have been negative with most doctors.
  3. Tonight I had a nice juicy grass fed/grass finished strip steak.
  4. OMG $10/lb. That's too much. I live in central NJ and there are a lot of Asian markets in my area. A lot of beef they have is cheap.
  5. I found it at my local Asian market. It was something like $3.99/lb.
  6. Aha. Ok I will try that as well. Jim
  7. I am so glad for you Scott. Most of us need to take our health into our own hands and stop relying on doctors who just want to prescribe medication in response to symptoms. Jim
  8. I took a Certified Carnivore Coach program sponsored by IPHM (international practitioners of holistic medicine) conducted by Coach Peter.
  9. Same here, as my wife is not on board with me I need to incorporate chicken and fish. If it was just me it would be red meat all the time as well. Yes we all have tons of learning to do and glad you feel like you're getting there. There are tons of resources on the internet, however just keep confirmation bias in the back of your head. BTW what is NMO/SD.
  10. Ah ok. Just did it. That's how I'm replying to you. Thank you - Jim
  11. Sure Scott F. You can ask me anything any time. I have been carnivore for 4 years now and strict lion diet for 8 months or so. I also do a lot of research into the biology and pathophysiology of the carnivore way of eating.
  12. No Meathead, I don't want to do the sugar diet. In my opinion a lot of YouTubers are promoting this "new interesting thing" just for clicks.
  13. Q?...Is there any way to reply to individual posts or can I only use the reply to topic button?
  14. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
  15. i had a grass fed/grass finished ribeye for dinner today.
  16. Yes I also make carnivore ice cream from time to time with allulose. It's just heavy cream, allulose and some flavoring like instant coffee or pure vanilla extract. It's the best ice cream in the world. No thickeners, no gums, no chemicals, just 3 ingredients.
  17. I forgot to mention, I am a Certified Carnivore Coach. Jim
  18. I had two 8" sardines, pan fried and some mackerel. I don't normally eat a lot of fish, but it's been in my freezer for a while. I try to stick to the lion diet.
  19. Hello everyone. I have been carnivore for 4+ years now, however I've went strict carnivore for 8+ months ago. I was doing the lion diet for about 4 years, occasionally deviating at a party or some other get together. It was basically 95% meat, mainly beef, and 5% chips, pizza or some other kind of snack. When I went strict carnivore, ditching the remaining 5% crap, it was like I went the next 50% to the finish line. I am looking forward to possibly adding some knowledge to this forum. Thank you
