Patience is key
My weight fluctuated up but is sitting at 196.0 today. Im staying focused. Im back in ketosis now and my appetite is much easier to deal with now that my meds have lowered. I can even cook elaborate meals for my husband and roommate and stick to my carnivore eating. Its actually a peacefull happy feeling cooking a meal for others exclusively because your own desire for food is not distracting the cooking process.

My husband and roommate are both off the diet and I do the cooking. What keeps me on track is breaking down my goal into smaller goals. My big goal is to get to 150 but I'm focused now on getting to 190. If I hit 190, Ill get my nails done at a salon. If I hit 180, I'll get a different reward, and so on till I hit my goal.

I definitely did a few days off the diet and had fun but Im back on the diet now. I haven't weighed in a while because I went off the diet and my monthly cycle always increases my weight. Maybe this Sunday I will weigh again. Im very pleased with the things I've been doing to be healthy like breathing deeply, a bit of yoga, and continuing to move every day even it's more gently towards my cycle. I used to feel like an imposter. Now I feel like its only a matter of time until the fit girl I am inwardly shows outwardly. I feel like I am identifying more with a healthy, fit persona and I think it makes a major difference.

I was desperate for Chinese food and donuts. I settled for my son's leftover fish sticks. It was a pretty bad craving that hit.

I logged my breakfast into an app called more. It was taking up over 2/3 of a day's worth of calories. I love intuitively eating on carnivore but It should be easy to eat smaller portions per meal now that my appetite has gone down.

Just did a 24 hour fast. I was hungry towards the end but hunger no longer feels like an emergency.

I feel amazing. I think less negatively. I sleep better. My skin is shiny. I attack my workouts and have a desire to push myself. Im full of hope. I don't want to go off carnivore ever.

When I made this thread I was very discouraged because my weight had jumped up three pounds seemingly out of nowhere. I believe I had gained water weight temporarily due to working out harder. Now those three pounds are gone. I measured at 197.8 today. Getting back up to 200 was not fun but I knew I was doing all the right things. Im glad I continued.

It is the oddest thing now but I am indifferent to food most hours of the day at this point.

does everyone fast?
I'd like to do 24 hours. There's something about carnivore that makes fasting feel natural.

Weight loss.
It's encouraging to hear how weight plateaus are normal. Even long ones are normal. Thats good to know.

I'm 5'8, 31, and have been trying to lose weight for over four years. Within those four years there have been two pregnancies. My husband lost over 70 lbs on carnivore. I lost 30 but didn't experience full ketosis due to the psyche meds I was on at the time. Now that the dose is lower, I finally have experienced ketosis and feel amazing. I have had to be very patient. My goal weight is 150 and Im currently at 200lbs. So far this time starting May 1st, my weight is fluctuating a lot as I increase exercise and my appetite is going down. Im trying to no longer weigh every day but I allow two weigh ins a week now. This thread is just to encourage myself and maybe others that all good things take time and for me its taking a long time but thats okay. I consider my diet high fat carnivore. The more fat, the better I feel. Ill also use this thread to record my progress.

does everyone fast?
This topic is interesting to me. My husband and I were learning about the benefits of fasting and he went on a three day fast. Was it difficult to fast in the beginning?

4th times the charm
We would like to stay carnivore or keto as a permanent lifestyle this time.

4th times the charm
On May 1st, my husband and I went on carnivore for the 4th time. He had previously lost over 70 lbs. I lost about 30 lbs. But this time around has been different because my psyche meds were lower. I am now experiencing more of the full benefits of the diet. Smooth glowy skin Weight loss Energy all day Mental focus Confidence Desire to exercise each day Hair growth What works for me is high fat. It's like I can't get enough. I eat a lot of pork belly, fatback, and add beef tallow to tea and coffee. We still use seasoning but we keep any keto treats to a minimum.
