  1. Cheese is too addictive for me. Dairy gives me slight skin allergy. But I use butter and I would use ghee also if needed
  2. I heard not to drink distilled water because it reduces minerals in the body
  3. I think hundreds of years ago there were a lot more animals roaming around in the USA buffalo, more deer. More of them all right now I do carnivore but I’m using spices for flavoring my soups Black pepper (probably have a slight allergy to this) but also ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt. This is great flavor but I do need to go on full elimination diet soon yeah I’ve told people for years already that all the plants at grocery stores are basically poisonous with hidden chemicals. People don’t like to be told the truth about it
  4. He does a good job discussing cheese and dairy. I must have a slight allergy to cheese but the allergy is hard to pinpoint problem is, cheese is highly addictive lol
  5. My favorite drink is plain seltzer water it’s a treat every once in a while but I mostly just drink plain water it sucks that everything has chemicals inserted into it lol
  6. Yeah I keep relapsing. It’s more of an alcohol addiction thing, where I get a sort of anxiety feeling about once every 4 days that leads me to drink booze At least I pick plain booze with no carbs? lol my new strategy prioritizes getting more sleep and avoiding stress. There’s some discomfort/anxiety I need to work through without reaching for a bottle but also, steak and eggs gets boring after a while. It gets tiresome and time consuming to cook food every day, then clean up but this winter I have made some amazing hot soups. Yeah I boil steaks in water to make beef broth and near the end I add eggs to make an egg drop broth soup. Then lastly I add plenty of butter i do the same with shrimp. These hot clear broths with butter added are great it still gets boring
  7. For decades Ive been leaving store bought eggs at room temps up to 1-2 weeks and never had a problem when I cook plain steak it’s usually enough to put leftovers out. I will leave a cooked steak at room temp for up to 24 hours and honestly it tastes a lot better after 24 hours in the open air. Like a beef jerky i leave sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature for 1-2 weeks with no problem. how are you getting food poisoning? yea I’ve had food poisoning a few times. Always from restaurants. I’ve never had food poisoning from my own cooking at home.
  8. My apt is super tiny and in a highly desirable neighborhood with many grocery stores to be clear we are talking 12’x10’ apartment. So to bring a fridge in would be no room for that! the only way a fridge would be an option is if it was 1’ maximum, and no electric noise at all otherwise a lot of my time is in grocery stores getting fresh meats
  9. What’s your opinion on this: I live in a very small studio apartment no refrigerator because I don’t want extra electric outlets plugged in so i grocery shop every 2 days or so i will leave meats out for 24 hours before cooking and never had any problems Also i will cook steaks and leave them out in open air for a day and they seem to improve in taste and texture everyone screams how steaks are all bacteria unless they are refrigerated but wtf did people do before Refrigeration was invented? just to push the limits further: I never refrigerate eggs. I will keep them room temp for 1-2 weeks and no problems whatsoever I will make hardboiled eggs and at room temp they are good for one week These are plain truths. you won’t die from eating a leftover steak at room temp you won’t get salmonella from eggs at room temp
  10. I honestly don’t know where to get these without chemicals or seed oils but if you can help find a supplier I would stock up
  11. If you have ever foraged for foods in the wild or hunted for food in the wild youll know there’s more than just meat. The plants are food too berries, fruits, herbs. As a Type 1 Diabetic I consider a lot of Carnivores are mere tourists. You came around, heard of this new fad, and decided to try it but as a T1D the dedication deepens, drastically. As a t1d the food restrictions list goes up up up. The food rules border on highly difficult the addictions are closer related to the disease But I hope to make some life changing improvements by learning here
  12. Well I am about 4 days strict carnivore but I am 2 nights of whiskey drinking yes I have the addict personality and it has to be everything or nothing… a lot happens with carnivore diet #1 my blood sugar stabilizes (I am a type 1 diabetic) and that releases a lot of built up inflammation which can be tiring #2 carnivore makes me lose weight, which is desirable but it also leads to deeper sleep, and it requires naps #3 keto flu, I think it’s hard to be strict on carnivore. If I journaled detailed enough, my guess is I’ve never made it past 1 full week without binging on carbs or booze or whatever. I’ve been trying to learn low carb eating for Months. As a Type 1 Diabetic I am POSITIVE this is more work than others. But the benefits are clear i get major carb cravings STILL and I’ve been at this for long than I can admit Cheese is another addiction. I’ve been without cheese for a week but in grocery stores it’s like an evil monkey on my shoulder saying it’s no biggie, just get some blue cheese and as a diabetic, cheese make digestion sluggish. It’s bad news. Plus I cannot just have a slice or two, I eat the whole block of cheese and then wake up with sky high blood sugars I want to add that I literally removed coffee and tea from my diet over a year ago. This is basically one of the most taboo of topics even in 12 step meetings. It’s almost not allowed to talk about kicking caffeine. caffeine addiction is super real and it takes months to withdrawal. man you know what is I get bored of eating meats. I think that’s why I relapse. I just wanna eat a big juicy burger with Cajun fries you know? F this ribeye look at what’s around Try dating an Asian women if you don’t eat Rice and high carb sauces. I’m tired if explaining myself good to be here thanks for the support
  13. Yeah the electronics are toxic
  14. I’d like to make my own beef jerky but I live in a very small apartment. It would probably stink the whole building up if I had a food dehydrator drying beef, right? im tempted to buy a mini fan and build a dehydrator on a shoe string budget. To make a HUGE load of beef jerky.. and store it in sealed containers like 2-3 pounds worth would be sweet
  15. Last night was my day 3 back on pure carnivore with no cheating last night I had HUGE craving for peanut butter and jelly. It was late and the grocery store was closed. all I thought of last night was getting to the grocery and be there before the doors opened, to get a loaf of bread and the fixings oh I was also craving booze and I was planning my next visit to the booze store but when I woke up my craving was gone. I went to the grocery store and just got shrimp, beef and butter so I avoided relapsing
  16. I liked the point about quitting dairy and weightloss I am SO addicted to cheese but I’ve gone a week or two without, only to succumb while grocery shopping Cheese is a real monkey on my back but I’m not going to get shredded eating cheese 😞
  17. Man I am so jealous must make things so much easier to just have plain dried beef (no chemicals added like the stores sell) just beef jerky and butter is a great snack
  18. I am thinking why not. Consider a seltzer a treat. We are already removing everything else
  19. About point 10: we are supposed to drain meat before eating it? Is it just with ground beef? Does that include the fat on hot steaks? you have to wait for steaks to cool down before eating them? are we not supposed to eat hot butter? hot butter causes diarrhea????
  20. I didn’t fully understand the 10th point you always drain off fat from ground beef? or it causes diarrhea? does that include hot steaks or just ground beef? does it include hot butter??
  21. I think you’re right. Pot is bad stuff for me. I used it as a hangover cure, and last time it gave me super munchies. it was something terrible doesn’t help I live in a major foodie neighborhood. but it’s a strange experience because I have Type 1 Diabetes. I generally avoid restaurants because it’s difficult to estimate insulin doses when going out so I tend to only eat at home another thing to mention is that I kicked my coffee/caffeine addiction. I quit cold turkey 2 years ago. It’s tough to kick but I highly recommend doing it doesn’t help I live in a neighborhood with cafes everywhere. Before quitting I used to cafe hop like the most notorious coffee addict there ever was
  22. I eat 1/2 stick or more per day. usually Kerrygold unsalted. I think cheap butter is noticeably not as good as Kerrygold for me butter is a flavoring The first book I read about carnivore diet said to eat a good amount of butter first, then the portion of meat. This way the butter fills you up with calories and you eat less meat to feel full.
  23. Well hopefully a few T1D’s come to answer seems like a real predicament: because we definitely need glucose tablets to maintain blood sugar levels and basically 1 little glucose tablets is enough to stop ketosis it would be a T1D eating carnivore diet would be in a nonstop keto flu ?? If so this would be a deal breaker for me. I would have to do low carb again or very low carb, with carnivore days mixed in…
  24. i do better with 2 meals per day spaced 2-4 hours apart when I was trying 1 meal per day I would eat 2 meals in one sitting lol
  25. So I’m a chronic relapser on carbs and booze too. I can go 5-7 days on a strict carnivore diet and suddenly I throw it all away booze weed, gave me terrible munchies Led to 2 double cheeseburgers fries Super sweet coconut pastries basically just completely overdoing it like a carb junky on a bender.. then after the next day hangover I go back on a restrictive diet like carnivore but I face relapses and when I relapse I just say forget this, and I go all out binge on carbs i think the weed made me eat burgers, it made me super hungry for burgers!! the weed was for the hangover from the boozy night before. It set off a chain reaction that led to burgers and fries and ultimately and bunch of pastries Im not a very disciplined carni plus I am a type 1 diabetic so I truly can’t be eating extremely high carb anything and I shouldn’t be drinking booze either but it’s for the stress
