  1. I put hotdogs (Frankfurters) in the ham and sausage category, choose with care. My local store has locally made hotdogs, and I can assure you, these are no different than eating a bratwurst, or a good ham. This meat is "processed", as in smoked, cured, etc. Those products can be made at home without needing chemicals or fillers, and has been done for centuries. So me personally, I am not afraid of hotdogs, lunchmeat, or hams, but I choose carefully, with regards to fillers, flavor enhancers, and sugars.
  2. That's what I call a good exercise. Nothing like a Romanian dead lift to pick up a stray piece of cheese.
  3. I think storing food in plastic at room temp or below pose no considerable issue. It's when heat comes to play, leaving that water bottle in the car on a hot sunny day, etc.
  4. I suppose you have a point. And I think anyone with concerns would have silicone as an option. That leaves out the worry about micro plastic, but still, chemicals. What I am saying is, it needs to be considered when one is concerned about cooking with Teflon, aluminium, or even stainless steel. Why switch to cast iron, only to use plastic elsewhere? That said, it is obviously to each their own decision.
  5. There's nothing wrong with using plastic at room temperature or colder. It is when we apply heat where the issue lies. Boiling a plastic bag with meat in it, yeah... hard pass on that. I vacuum seal all my meat (in plastic of course) without losing sleep. But prepping and heating will occur in Pyrex. But having grown up in the 70s, it may already be too late for me lol.
  6. I'd be too worried about the plastics seeping into my meat. Just got rid of all Teflon, and plastic Tupperware and switch to Pyrex.
  7. Keep on rockin' in the free world!
  8. That's addiction and conditioning. It breaks any semblance of resilience and self-discipline.
  9. Then put your goal at 200 lbs. If you're about 6ft you could have an ideal weight between 145 and 185. Re-consider how you view weight, as your body composition will be different, carrying a lot less water for instance. IF you're overweight, I would not stress about it too much until you start to feel hungry, tired, or weak. Weight is a mere part of the equation, in fact it's a mere consequence. I would keep it simple, and worry when needed.
  10. And imagine ever saying these words before going carnivore? Help I am eating too little! That is an unthinkable statement when we eat carbs. I think it is perfectly fine to skip a meal here and there. So long as you don't feel weak, or tired.
  11. Yeah, we haven't gotten any better terms yet, I do the same thing.
  12. You may have conflated tracking macros and counting calories here. Obviously, tracking protein or carbs for that matter is by weight. Calories on the other hand, those are a mere estimate that can lead one to failure and discouragement. It does make me wonder why we measure food in the US not by weight but by cups, spoons, and other kitchen utensils. Do I smell a conspiracy here? 😆
  13. Used to? What is this heresy??
  14. At least track your food and learn. I do this on accoasion. Sometimes I get by with 1500 calories, and sometimes I need 2700 calories at 135 lbs. My weight stays the same give or take a pound. But weight is just a minor piece of the puzzle, UNLESS one is clearly overweight. I weigh myself really only to learn about what happens when I eat what.
  15. He's not a string bean. He is shorter than me and heavier than me. I am 135 pound, but 6 pack abs and muscle definition. I think he is a bit chubby tbh. Like you though, there's things that I like, and things I do not like about Bart Kay. If you act silly all the time, how can people take you seriously right?
  16. I'd eat the shit out of that.
  17. 70 percent fat out of all you eat? 80/20 ground beef and two scoops of sour cream with some shredded cheese. The cheese and sour cream can be used to tweak your desired ratio. Boring sometimes but works everytime, and is cheap.
  18. Like you, I never started the carnivore for losing weight. I did end up losing "weight", probably liquid and a bit of fat. At a 135 lbs. I've eaten up to 2700 calories a day and I would not gain a pound. I think we are dealing with fluctuations that have nothing to do with calories. As for nutrient dense, beef yes. And then there's the difference between feeling heavy and bloated. So I would not panic.
  19. I no longer live that hair life. There's nothing left they can take from me!! I do enjoy Nick Norwitz' videos.
