  1. Yes low test can happen when you over train or under eat, the fat is the fuel, the gas tank. Leaner meat is going to be torture.
  2. Meat and mentioning a hormone, I don't think sounds good at all...
  3. Thanks and welcome. I do agree with you on it being a reset and a reminder. It feels exactly that way. As for progress? I don't think I lost much other than gaining 2 lbs, which will be gone in no time. Weight-loss is not my goal anyways, it was just a by product. I welcomed those pounds back. Sleep was getting worse, yes. I noticed immediately. My body felt busier with digestion as well. And other than those 2 cookies, I haven't indulged in any simple sugars, not anything that is designed to be sweet. Perhaps a piece of dark chocolate, but that I did during carnivore as well. I am actually going back to keto/carnivore today, I feel ready, I miss it. I think I did well on staying low carb during these days, high carb, like potatoes and bread just felt wrong and I don't think I'll ever go back to that.
  4. Actually, it was just a bad day and I said f%$k it. Was hungry, my meat was expired, so I had to grab something. It's an amazing lesson, made me appreciate the carnivore diet even more just by how my sleep changed and my inflammation. Good advice. Already stocked up on meat and ready to go.
  5. I am almost 5 days out of ketosis. After about 67 days of carnivore/ketovore I tripped and fell right into some cookies, with my mouth. And I could immediately tell I was out of ketosis. This week I am low carb and prepping to get back into ketovore at the beginning of the week. I went from 148 to 135 lbs. in my 2 months of carnivore, and I found I was losing too much weight anyways. I added 2 pounds in these 4 days since, so I am glad about that. Excited to jump back in, I liked feeling light and painless, and the little aches are coming back. This is not catastrophic, just an appreciation for the diet, and a little breather in between. Keto snacks will get me through for now. Less than 100gr of carbs so I am ready to dive back in. By the way, no Keto flu, no Keto hang over or any of the draw backs of going in or out of ketosis. So I'll join the carniverse soon again.
  6. Are you trying to seduce me, sir?
  7. Nuts are so damn high in calories... it's going to make losing weight an uphill battle. Nuts are a big no-no. Great for fat, great for protein, great for bulking. For weight-loss they need to be gone, end of. There is no pretty way to say this. Same goes for milk, stay away if you seek to lose weight. Also great for fat and protein, great for bulking.
  8. Yes, this is true, but 137 was my threshold. I am not stressed or anything, but I don't want to wait till I lose too much, etc. My weight was 136.4 this morning, by the way. With this awareness I can adapt my eating pattern.
  9. Been eating between 1700 and 1900 calories a day. Again I feel perfectly fine, energetic, focused. I have about 10% carbs each day, as I introduced small portions of carrot, pickle, or pepper, for anti-inflammatory properties and potassium, I am talking 1 ounce portions. I am glad now I have been tracking my food.
  10. So I am down to 136.6... 137 was my threshold. Add more fat? or add mor protein? Again, I've never been once hungry during my 66 days of carnivore. I already had a small stomach and don't like stuffing myself, I eat till I am comfortable full. About 500 calories a meal. Too much and my stomach feels like a brick.
  11. It's like the old days when you used to keep your check book, or it's like budgeting. You'll spend more wisely. Same with eating, the awareness itself makes you be more conscious about eating habits and teaches you about the food you eat and what it does. It really doesn't take that much time, we all got phones. It doesn't have to be perfect either, just ballpark it.
  12. I'm a big proponent of documenting food intake, what's the trouble if you only eat once or twice?
  13. If you want to be sure, at least document (myfitnesspal app) what you eat by using an app. I was never overweight but lost 11lbs and am under 15% body fat. Probably closer to 12% now but muscle definition. So the body composition is a fact for me, no significant muscle loss here. Just leaned out and more definition. The myfitnesspal app also allows you to track weight, and body composition. Gather that data.
  14. I've had herbal butters back in The Netherlands, never seen it sold here. It's delicious on toast, but I can imagine it would do good on meat as well.
  15. That would be exactly the case. I also think that moving around for work is not quite the same as weight lifting. Working is endurance, conditioning, weightlifting is building muscle, especially focused on hypertrophy sets and reps. At work we break the body down, in the gym we build it back up. Muscles are extremely significant for metabolic health. Especially after our 40s, we start losing our muscles every year. Fortunately, I started back when I was 35, so I probably metabolize food quicker. And you don't even have to lift each day, 3 times a week, for 30 minutes. No hours at the gym needed, part of building muscle is that rest day and sleep. I haven't been over 2000 calories in 45 days or so, and never once was hungry, or felt weak.
  16. I eat between 1500 and 1900 calories, sometimes over. I eat when hungry, no IF, no big meals once a day. I guess my stomach isn't big enough as I always have eaten small meals 5 times a day. I work out daily, lifting weights. I have added carbs -thus also fiber- up to 45 grams a day. I guess I am glad I have documented everything I ate on Myfitnesspal. No processed foods though, and I have managed supplements meticulously. I eat an ounce of carrots or broccoli, or cauliflower each day. Fruits may be more benign, but then I consider fructose vs vegetables. Toxins vs. Fructose. I am just amazed how well this diet works for weight loss, in my case, a little too well. Again, I am not in a panic, I have weight 135 before, in fact in high school I was 130. So I am not in dire straits (great band by the way). Documenting what you eat is important for this reason I guess. I am glad I did. It gets annoying sometimes, but I have all the info I need to change paths slightly. I guess my post was designed to think out loud with fellow carnivore adventurers.
  17. I've started this diet to get rid of all the junk I ate, to get rid of inflammation (and it did). But I now weigh 137lbs, from 148 since December 1st last year. I'd like it to stop now. I've been eating till comfortably stuffed, never was hungry or felt low energy at any point. I do not look emaciated (even asked my wife) even see abs and muscle definition. I am 5'8 so I know it's not crazy low weight. Also, never had weight issues, and also ate diciplined for years now, no fast food, etc. Maybe I am too disciplined? Do I need to add carbs?
  18. Just squint your eyes when eating wings, you'll be fine.
  19. Whiskey and Vodka, straight. That's your best bet. Arak, safe too.
  20. Nsaid's are the only ones I take on that list. It's a balance. Inflammation is not good either. Lack of sleep neither. It's a balancing game for sure... stay away from sugar, for one.
  21. Like I have adressed already, if you go back carnivore, take a period of time to slowly reduce carbs.
  22. Go carnivore for a couple of weeks, slowly reduce carbs prior to that. Once you're there slowly introduce new foods and focus remaining at least in ketosis. Use it as an elimination diet of sorts. I eat avocados, or pickles, carrots, in very small amounts, even almonds now. Dirty carnivore is an option, or "ketovore" and if that isn't desirable, there is still going just keto. Start it back again as if you have all those options so you don't feel trapped either. Can you imagine the benefits you felt in just a week, what it may do for you over a prolonged period of time. We're not striving for perfection here. No diet is truly perfect.
  23. It's how you get to the weight. It's why physical exercise is very important during fat-loss.
