pauls got a reaction from Bob in Diabetes = elevated Blood Glucose Level (BGL)That is what it is. It does not matter what type. It is high BGL. There, In my opinion, is no pre diabetes and no touch of diabetes. (This is Dr. Bernstein's way of thinking) For most, the real solution is a low or very low carb diet. I do a Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. I follow Bernstein almost exclusively now.
This morning I reached a new 7 day average BGL, 90 mg/dL. Headed to Bernstein's suggested target of 83. In the last 8 months I never been so ZERO strict. , next week I will have a new A1c lab.
Once I get to the 83 mg/dL level i will resume reducing the insulin dose.
My old BGL target was 114, that is the effect Bernstein has had on me.
Be well

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in Daily Chat and Progress Check-in for March 2026I recently noticed 2 things in my Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. Most everyone experiences the Dawn Effect, a natural rise in one's Blood Glucose Level in the early morning. Part of waking up.
1. Sometimes my rise is small, maybe 15 or so and goes down to normalize 30 b to 45 minutes.
2. Even my big Dawn Effect , like 30 to 40 mg/dL, returns to normal in a similar fashion.
As one eats the appropriate human diet our bodies go better !
A side note: my 7 day, average BGL continues to drop, 94 this morning ! Look out 85, here i come.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in Daily Chat and Progress Check-in for March 2026That 99 is down to 96. Don't you just love it! My PCP does not know what to think, other than this must be dangerous and I'm going to have a stroke.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in The horrible side effects of Mounjaro that nobody mentionsThe sad issue here is that many drugs are pushed to market without enough testing nowadays. The end user, the patient, is the long term test.
These drugs in this class are very profitable. New versions will come along and prices will decrease. A few years ago insulins were very pricy and profitable. New manufacturers entered the market, price dropped from 800 dollars a month to 100 dollars.

pauls got a reaction from Bob in Oh the prices. Was not sure where to post this. I was watching some recent Dr. Ken Berry a few days ago. I was interested as the subject was diabetes. He mentioned his private group so I looked it up. $ 30 a month I r $ 300 a year. Like 4 years ago entry lev was $ 5 a month. I left after about 18 months. At that time there was about 9000 Members. That would b e minimum of 45,000 dollars a month. At 30 a month he needs 1,500 signed op to match that. I would think at his pricing it may be a decent n t group.
Is any one a current member?? I just curious.

pauls got a reaction from Bob in New, well sort of.Not really changing anything.
Just, i now realize that if it is good for T1D then it good for I t all diabetic types.
So, it is still zero carbs. With a focus on exercise.
I am carefully examining everything.
I am exploring the wisdom put forth by Dr. Richard Berstein, MD. In doing so I believe there is a better insulin regime that will suit my carnivore lifestyle better. Therefore I doing a bit of experimenting. Older types of insulin can be purchased in most states at Walmart. No prescription needed. You have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter.
Labs are going to plan and I should have results inside of 2 weeks.
I am figuring out the details, mostly without my doctors.
Every one be well.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in T2DM - Type 2 diabetesEvery other American is pre type 2, type 2, or one of those undiagnosed. Dr. Ken Berry estimates 70 % of all PCP can not diagnose T2DM properly. It costs 1.5 Billion dollars per day. Is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease. If T2DM was contagious., the streets would be empty. It increases by a percent or two every year. Likely to hit 60% in 2030. A leg is amputated from a diabetic every 4 minutes. Toes every 2 minutes.
That's what it really is. The ADA has not had any positive effect , ever. The Ketogenic diet is the most studied dirt for T2DM.
Just the facts, people

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in Is your CGM accurate?I watch Tony Hampton every morning. Was a good post. I left a comment there. I forget who regulates CGM and other Glucose meter accuracy. They have to show a an accuracy of plus or minus 12%. so if device says 100, a blood lab needs to be between 88 and 112. Manufacturers file regular reports.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in Still eating ZERO carbsI am on a slow decline in my Blood Glucose Level! Therefore, effective tomorrow my daily Lantus insulin dose will be reduced from 25 to 22 units per day. I gave everone fair warning not to bet against me. This change will remain in effect for 30 days. As my body Adapts.

pauls got a reaction from mpolyglottos in does everyone fast?I been OMAD for almost 2 years. I go 22 ish hours , eat and window closes 2 hours later. I try ti be very consistent. I aim for regularity.

pauls got a reaction from Bob in Daily Chat and Progress Check-In for February 2026Seeing the trend on my Continuous Glucose Monitor reports. It was nice to see this evening. Not settling any record pace in the decline. Is going in the desired direction. That is a win. Even slight reductions are good. If you are in a weight ๐way , u get my meaning. Onward, be steady be as true as u need to be for yourself. Everyone be well, February is half over.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in i'm having trouble staying on trackFor me, fasting is an interruption to my rhythm. My body does best with a constant rhythm.

pauls got a reaction from Geezy in Super Bowl ad GLP-1Yes. The main problem with GLP1 and SGLT2 is the lack of long term studied. They were never done a Ken Berry explains it. I suspect many high profile people are using them. Competition will increase supply and reduce prices. Insurance companies are likely not too happy right now
-
pauls got a reaction from Bob in Super Bowl ad GLP-1The dosage of a GLP1 for blood sugar control (will loose a few pounds) and the dose for weight loss are about 4xรท.
Bigger dose is more possible side effects. My body does not like several drugs. All of the diabetic drugs, oral or injections, Have not worked for me mostly due to bad side effects.
I continue on Zero Carb eating and insulin. And Increasing my exercise.
Will se that things look like at the end of this first 3 months.

pauls got a reaction from Bob in Daily Chat and Progress Check-In for February 2026I am once again reviewing my dietary lifestyle. Seems constant review is mandatory to continue progress. Gone is the Coke Zero, most all artificial sweeteners, and now coffee is on the table. I never thought I would even consider reducing of eliminating coffee. Better health does take precedence.
As a diabetic my insulin injection dosage remains constant as my BGL average slowly declines. 7 day average Blood Glucose Level is 105 and 90 day average is 114. I know my PCP thinks I am too aggressive in my blood sugar control. My endrinconologist thinks I am ok and likes my result. Once u get in your 60s doctors think A1c under 7 is ok. Move into your 70s and <8 is ok.
Not for me. Coffee consumption is now going down to 2 mugs a day. Yes it is a 12 0unce mug. Please do not ask me how much reduction it is, let's just say a significant decrease.
So Zero carb eating is my thing. Appetite ebbs and flows, goes up and down somewhat, but overall us consistent. Will call to request necessary blood work in early March to hopefully define my diabetes better. May everyone make progress along their path.
