  1. I seldom use table salt unless that's all that's avail. At home I use Himalayan salt rocks and grind my own.
  2. Hamburger steak with blue cheese, four eggs, and decaf. Store owner got me a big bag of blue cheese. I'm giving some to my egg suppliers and the few friends that enjoy blue cheese. About four. 🙂 This will tie me over till next year.
  3. The other day at work I ate something that didn't totally agree. And hadda scurry off to the pot in a hurry. When I came out I told the old gals that I could've threaded a screen door at twenty paces and never hit a wire. They said thanks for that mental picture. 🙂
  4. I may try that just to say I've had bubbly coffee. 🙂
  5. Friday I had a pretty healthy slab of pork ribs. Then a couple hours ago I had bouta pound of bacon and a five egg omelet. Oh and Freshly ground black coffee. I ground a cup on the riverbank last night and it was so good, I thought I'd do it again. Probably go back to decaf during the week.
  6. I watched several short vids and a couple long ones. Some folks liked it and some didn't. Most all of them used cold brew or least let it cool down. James Hoffman (the UK coffee connoisseur) tried an espresso and a regular strong cold brew. I really don't think any of it is probably worth it. Maybe if I want bubbles in my coffee, I should just pour some club soda in my cup. It was just a thought since I saw it somewhere. .... Whipped coffee looks neat, cept I'm pretty sure there's something else in there besides coffee to make it stand up.
  7. That might be interesting. Fizzy tea. I'll havta try to find where I saw that at.
  8. Hey Bob, I read on another thread where you got a Fizzy machine. Instead of hijacking that thread, I'll hijack my own. I saw somewhere where you can make fizzy coffee. It looked good. But is it good enough to get a fizzy machine? Have you tried it? Fizzing your coffee.
  9. At least your fanny would be warm.
  10. I've noticed that too. I like chicken and pig. Some cuts of pig is better than others. Like bacon. lol Seems like chicken doesn't take alot for me to have too much and off to the pot I go. And yeah, I feel the best when I eat beef.
  11. I've read/heard several times to not pay any attention to the scale. Just watch your waistline. Some say to not even weigh yourself for a month. Which I didn't starting out cause I really didn't wanna know how bad I had got. But I do know that I started out with 42 pants and am at size 36 pants. I would like to see 34. But I feel pretty good so if this is where my body wants to stall for awhile, I'm good with that. Thank goodness for Samaritan centers and second hand stores. 🙂
  12. There's a trick for charley horses that's either hooking your toes over the footboard and pulling, or in front and pushing? I never remember which it is and do both. But one of them ways releases the muscle instantly. I got them so seldom I forget and in a panic just do both.
  13. I've had 3 bouts with heat exhaustion all while working on fire or MVA scenes. Wearing turnout gear is like wearing a thermos. The first time was on a MVA in 100+ heat I got escorted to the ER and had a couple bags of saline ran through me. I quickly figured out how to recognize it. Mine always start with a headache. Then if I work though it cause I got a job to do, that's when the trouble starts. I've also pulled people off the scene for getting too hot. After a bout with it, it takes quite a while to get back where you can take the heat. I have a window unit ac but have not turned it on for better than five years. I like to remember what it was like before we had air conditioners. Mom would fix a daybed out in the yard. Now I use a hammock. and enjoy my decaf or tea in the yard at night. And I was telling someone the other day when they were complaining about their car's ac not working, That I've only owned one vehicle that had a working ac. That was a 77 chrysler new yorker that had leather seats and am/fm radio. Dang I thought I had it made then. 🙂 Just think, six more weeks and some will be complaining that it's too cold.
  14. Just drink some hot water and tell yourself it's decaf.
  15. I watched Mitch's video as well as Dr Berry's video on mixing your own. I figured if I use the one a day supplement size, there'd be little chance in overdoing anything. But something extra in your water on a 100 degree day wouldn't hurt. Or I can refer back to my old deceased doctor that said, "Don't buy into all that crap. Just drink water. " 🙂 The other doctor in the building always promoted gatorade and we all figured he owned stock in it. 😉 I made a bottle to take with me today to go help an old friend with his mower and yard. This time I used a mortar/pestle and worked much better than turning it into a cloud. 99 mg of potassium is a long ways from 4700 mg RDA and 250 Mag and salt to taste.
  16. Sour cream is like ice cream you can eat on your burger without feeling weird. Some roast beef deli meat earlier today and tonight, a pound of ground with sour cream on it. Since I went to the store, I'll have heavy cream in my decaf tonight. Went to the chiropractor today and was thinking. I used to always stop and get a couple slices of pizza on my way home. Then for the last couple years, I been visiting the local grocery store there and getting some deli meat and a fifty cent bottle of water. Cheaper and better for me.
  17. Beings I'm too cheap to order the ready made stuff online and pretty sure if I ordered bulk, that half of it wouldn't get used, I had a hare brained idea. I already buy magnesium and potassium tablets. So I took a mag and a couple potassium and tossed in a stainless spice grinder and turned it into powder. Poured it into a water bottle and WaLa, instant electrolytes. I didn't add salt this time. I already salt everything. May add about a 8th teaspoon of salt in the next bottle. Anyhow, it tasted just fine. Was alil cloudy and a teeny bit of grit in the bottom. Must not of dissolved all the way. Figured it wouldn't hurt since it's been kinda hot this week and sposta be next week. And I'm also too cheap to get an AC. 🙂
  18. A pound of ground with some smoked cheddar. Then took my cup of decaf outside where it was cooler and entertained the cats.
  19. I hear ya. While part of me likes to think I enjoy the garden fresh cucumbers and zucchini, the other part can't wait for garden season to be over and get back to regular BBBE
  20. Maybe simmer your soup with the lid off for awhile to evaporate the liquids. Reduce it down from a soupy soup to a thicker stew of sorts. Also, ground pork rinds will thicken, and is carni friendly.
  21. 8 slices of hog jowl, 3 eggs and a half a garden cuke. Oh, and a cup of decaf. no cream this week. Early on I found out that I can no longer eat a whole cucumber in one sitting.
  22. I had 6 quarter inch thick slices of smoked pork belly and four eggs. Just smoked, no brine or seasonings. And a cup of regular coffee. Have since dipped into the bag of coffee beans that I've had since before I went caffeine free. Can't bear to think they'll go to waste. Haven't really noticed any difference much. Maybe because I don't make it very strong.
  23. I remembered to put mini waffle maker on a list, then remembered to take it with me. So tonight I had two burgers from my neighbors cow. Egg and porkrinds. Next I'll try it with cheese. Messy, dripping with butter. Just like I like. 🙂
  24. I came across a couple apps that lists seed oil free restaurants nearest to you. This one will let you browse the directory without downloading the app. https://localfats.com/ This one really wants you to download the app, but a skim though the blog will reveal info about some of your common eateries. https://www.seedoilscout.com/
  25. A pound of ground and a half pound of bacon. No eggs today. Geezy, how do the guinea eggs compare? Duck? Chicken? Or just like a guinea egg?
