  1. The animals find it very assaulting. 😁
  2. Absolutely true but man, it’s expensive. Hog hunting as we speak.
  3. She ain’t wrong. 100% on all points. Just another reason why I raise and hunt most of my food.
  4. Welcome to CT Scott. I’m glad you could join us. Yes sir, stalls or plateaus happen often. Don’t worry about it and stop weighing yourself every day. Some even recommend tossing the scale in the closet. I say jut weigh once a week if you really must know what it is. But a much better metric is a tailor’s tape measure. Do a complete body measurement. Chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves, shoulders, biceps, forearms and neck. Write that down in a journal and check the tape again in another month. You will find that you may be losing inches even though you aren’t losing weight. Especially if you lift weights. Now try to remember that this is not a weight loss diet. It’s a lifestyle of eating designed to heal your metabolism. As your body heals it will optimize your weight. The plateaus can be from not eating enough or eating too much dairy or even your body just needing to take a break and do some more adjusting or healing somewhere. This is a lifestyle of eating that you will do for the rest of your life if you want to have optimal heath so take some vitamin P (patience) and just let your body do its thing. I have plateaued numerous times till I stopped losing. Some times for two weeks and twice for 90 days. I just kept everything the same and it eventually broke. Nis just eat animal fats and protein, salt and water then KCCO. (Keep Calm & Carni On)
  5. Welcome to CT Joel. while it can vary for everyone the average time seems to be two weeks to a month. In my case it took 30 days. As your gut biome transitions over to digesting only fat and meat it will get better and you’ll be better for it.
  6. No argument here. Giving them this much time to change only allows them to replace it with something else that’s just as bad or worse.
  7. That’s when a cup of hot bone broth with butter in it hits home. Hot, satisfying and nutritious.
  8. Yes I can hunt with any size magazine I want. We still have our freedom here in Texas. I just choose to use a ten round mag. The big magazines just get in the way. As I said in the previous post this particular gun is a 6.5 Grendel. It’s shooting a 123 gn Hornady ELDM bullet. I have both factory and hand loads. When I use my 5.56 I’m feeding it a soft nose bullet in anywhere from 62 to 77 grains. I have a fast twist barrel and it does well at stabilizing the heavier bullets and the get good penetration and fast kills.
  9. Lol, no, it was a clean entry and no exit. Bullet dumped all of its energy into her. She dropped in her tracks. I also try to take clean pictures when I can. The 5.56 or .223 are quite capable of taking whitetail. It all comes down to shot placement and the type of bullet you use. Nothing survives this heart shot with a 5.56. I’ve taken a lot of deer and hogs with 5.56 but the deer in my post was taken with a 6.5 Grendel. It’s a great deer cartridge to use in the AR platform.
  10. That’s very interesting. I’ve never heard of this before. Definitely interested in learning more. Thanks.
  11. That’s how I feel in the carnivore community. It seems like that’s the one plant that carnivores are not willing to give up. They will sometimes go to the point of giving up caffeinated coffee and just drink decaf but seriously, what’s the point? People drink coffee for the caffeine. Once they kick the caffeine addiction then they are just drinking it out of habit. Oh, and btw, even decaf has some caffeine in it. Now I used to be a coffee drinker but early on in my journey I lost my taste for it and switched to tea and about a year ago I decided that I no longer wanted to have anymore addictions in my life controlling me so I gave that up too. For a morning drink I have half a cup of bone broth mixed with half a cup of water heated up to boiling and blended to a froth with a tablespoon of butter. I should market that as a recipe and call it carnivore coffee.
  12. I was on Metropol and Flecanide I’m off of both of them now. There are two types of AFib as you may know. One type you are in an irregular rhythm most of the time. The other is paroxysmal, which is what I had/have. In this type I’m in normal rhythm most of the time with about a dozen heart palpitations a day and about once a year I’d have a severe attack that would put me in intensive care for a couple of days while they get my heart back in rhythm. It’s a scary time. I had a heart ablation done but it didn’t work. A year after beginning a strict carnivore regiment my condition had improved so much that I was removed from all of my medications and one of my cardiologist dropped me as a patient and the other one only wants to see me for a check up once a year.
  13. Yep, we call that freedom. Which may just prove that they are.
  14. I wonder why they are doing this to him and not all of the other carnivore doctors and influencers on Utube or is this something just starting?
  15. I was just gonna say…😁
  16. Carnivore isn’t for everyone even though I believe it’s the best human diet but some can’t handle it and that’s fine. You are doing what’s best for you and you are doing it exactly right. I often tell people that they don’t have to be as strict as I am. This is just my choice and what works best for me. I tell them that if they would just eliminate the sugars, seed oils, grains and below ground vegetables and just eat animal fats, animal protein, whole organic above ground vegetables m, salt and water they’d be miles ahead of most of the people in this world when it comes to health. Im glad you are doing so well. You may decide one day to go all the way and that’s great or maybe just reduce down to ketovore. As far as the cholesterol thing is concerned it’s nothing to worry about. Most of us have high cholesterol from eating carnivore. It’s because we are not using any glucose for fuel. Instead we are only using fat for fuel so it only stands to reason that there will be more fat running around our bloodstream to deliver that energy so we can function. It’s getting used up. There is no studies that have ever shown that high cholesterol causes any cardiovascular disease. In fact, every time they’ve tried to do a study to prove that it does the findings end up showing that those with the higher cholesterol live longer than those with lower cholesterol. Keep up the good work.
  17. I’m not sure about the hypoglycemia but it’s not uncommon for people early on to experience something like this because the body has been used to getting all of its energy from glucose from carbs. Now that it can no longer use carbs it has to switch over to utilizing ketones from fat for energy. It can take a little while for the body to convert over and in the meantime your body is running on empty. If it’s really bad or a concern you could introduce a few carbs back in to her diet in the form of whole above ground vegetables and see if that helps and then slowly ween her off of those so it’s not such a drastic change to her system.
  18. Welcome to Carnivore Talk Carburetor. I like the handle. Mixing fuel and air in the right mixture for optimal performance. 👍 Nice ride brother. I’m more of a cruiser/bagger type but I like the sport bikes.
  19. Not a rant at all, just the truth. If given the option of health and life over sugar and death they will usually take the sugar every time. For many it takes a life changing desperation before they will succumb to the truth. That’s how it was for me. Just like any other type of addict we often have to hit rock bottom before we are willing to change. It’s a crying shame but it’s the truth.
  20. My doctor is the same but what’s funny is my cardiologist loves what I’m doing and what the diet has done for me. I would be honest with him. We are the randomized control studies that prove this way of eating works. If your doctor thinks that his medication is helping you then he will assume the same thing for the next patient. If you are honest with him then he can monitor your results and see that this works and it just may convince him that this is a viable option to good health.
  21. Sure thing. I think it’s listed in the recipe section but I’ll post it here. Recipe The BEST Steak Sauce INGREDIENTS 1 cup unsalted butter (2 Sticks of butter)
8 ounces cream cheese

3/4 cup bone or beef broth

Truffle salt to taste INSTRUCTIONS • Heat the butter in a large sauce pot over high heat. Whisk often so the butter doesn't burn on the outside of the pan. The butter will start to bubble and froth up. Whisk often at this point. The butter will start to darken and turn brown. Remove from heat and keep whisking.
 • Add the cream cheese.
 • After a minute, slowly add the broth, truffle salt.
 • Use a stick blender to puree until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning and truffle taste to your liking.
 • Pour into a mason jar. Cover and store in the fridge for up to 7 days. This sauce will thicken a lot overnight. • Serve with your favorite steak! This of course is good with any meat and even makes a good dip.
  22. Have you tried looking up carnivore recipes? There are a huge number of ways to cook carnivore. Chaffles, paffles, pancakes can all be made carnivore and used for buns for hamburgers. Chicken salad, tuna salad, salmon salad can all be carnivore with the right ingredients and you can make sandwiches using the chaffles for the bread. Egg salad sandwiches are good to using the right ingredients. I make a great steak sauce that’s carnivore that’s really good on any meat. You are only limited by your imagination. There are lots of ways to eat carnivore without just eating beef all of the time. Lots of good recipes out there and you can find a few on our forum.
