I did one set of blood tests after starting carnivore. I fell off the wagon on Memorial Day and I'm making my way back. Anyway, after about 6/7 weeks of carnivore my small lipid particles -which is the most important metric to examine for cardiovascular risk- were Low. The overall number doesn't matter. I don't trust any physician as a professional if they push statins (except in cases where the small particles are very high) now that we know the horrible side effects of those drugs. I think there's not much worse than excessive pain trying to move and dementia.

My cardiologist took me off of Metropolol after three months on carnivore and took my off of Flecinide after one year as a carnivore. He has never once mentioned a statin to me. It’s my PCP that keeps trying to push the worthless statins on me because my total cholesterol is in the 300’s. But he is ignorant and is only push statins because the lawyers tell him he has to. It has nothing to do with better health. It’s all about covering their butts and lining the pockets of pharmaceutical executives.
My cardiologist loves what I’m doing with my carnivore diet because he’s seen that it’s reversed my heart condition. In fact he now only wants to see me once a year to give me a checkup.

My BP dropped to 80/60 the other day after smoking a bunch of meats all day for a big gathering of the family. I noticed I was getting ready to pass out when I started seeing dark circles forming in my eyes and everything was starting to close in on me while I was taking a shower. I laid down and took my BP. Seeing how low I had gotten I realized what my mistake was. So I put on the tightest boot socks I’ve got that are like compression socks and then I started drinking plenty of salted water. It brought my BP up within a half hour and by evening I was up to 106/70.

If I haven't learned anything else in my 13 months, I have most definitely learned nothing is carved in stone with this way of eating. It is as individualistic as anything I have ever experienced and within the individual things can change from day to day.
I'm about 96 hours deep into my latest fast. I'm not all that concerned with the weight loss/weight loss potential. My fasting is all about healing and reversing my autoimmune disease now. My first attempts at fasting and the actual fasts I was really looking for the weight loss. I didn't experience near the weight loss I had imagined with not eating for 72-96 hours.
I ate Wednesday night at about 8PM and weighed 223lbs that morning. I hit the gym pretty hard Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. I went heavier on the cardio Friday morning and ramped up the weight and volume on the next two mornings. I'm on 12-hour night shifts since Wednesday. When I woke up this afternoon, I hit the scale at 213. I dropped ten pounds since Wednesday morning.
Energy levels are high. I have not been hungry. This time I have not checked my blood sugar nor the blood ketones. I probably will in the morning.
Each fast has been different in regard to weight loss. I feel like the activity level and gym work has been close to the same. I'm at 10lbs with another day to go. (maybe 2)
At 13 months I'm still learning and still don't feel comfortable giving out advice or, 'this is what someone needs to do', but fasting is a really powerful tool. I think coupled with carnivore is like the bonus plan. The first few hours the body does not have a ton of crap to work thru and getting to fat/ketones probably happens a little quicker and maybe even a tad deeper into ketosis. I'm still amazed (maybe even dumbfounded) by the energy levels while not eating. I'm sure there is a point of diminishing returns but right now at 96 hours I am still fully energetic.
I have not decided how far I plan to go. I may stop at 6 days or maybe stretch it to 7. All depends on how the next two-night shifts go.

Natto can be bought in most asian markets, you don't use the packets of sauce just stir (activate the culture correctly) then eat with
    your eggs, beef or w/e.
If humans have to manipulate ANYTHING into something (healthy) it's capitalism. Just look at supplements, antioxidants, pre/probiotics.

Let’s just start out saying that those are complete lies and false studies. The Framingham study was debunked and proven long ago to be fabricated.
There has never been and there never will be an RCT that PROVES that cholesterol causes CVD.
The first attack identified by autopsy was in 1912, prior to hat there was little to no evidence of heart disease in America.
It wasn’t until the introduction of processed foods and seed oils into our diet that started to move to the forefront of human mortality.
There is no causal relationship between heart disease and saturated fats or cholesterol.
Any research claiming otherwise is simply pseudoscience.
Atherosclerosis is the underpinning disfunction behind most heart disease.
Atherosclerotic lesioning of the endothelia  cells of the vascular tree is caused by several factors. One is chronic hypertension or high blood pressure. Another is chronic inflammation of the endothelia cells beds. The third one is physical injury to those cell beds.
Compare this to what it takes to create fire. You need three things, a fuel source, oxygen and heat. Remove any one of those three things and the fire cannot survive. The same can be said of atherosclerosis. You need damage to the endothelia cells, inflammation and high blood pressure. Remove any one of these and you will not have atherosclerosis. The high blood pressure seems to be the most underpinning cause of the other two. There is a misconception that hypertension is caused by too much salt but in reality it’s the inability to excrete salt that causes hypertension. Sure, the excess salt is causing it but any normal healthy person with normally functioning kidneys will excrete excess salt so if you have excess salt in your blood causing hypertension then it’s not the salt that’s the issue but instead the fact that you can’t excrete salt normally.
The usual cause of the inability to excrete salt normally is hyperinsulinemia. The cause of hyperinsulinemia is eating too many carbohydrates on a daily basis. So if you want to sort out the hypotension in your life stop eating carbs.
Without sufficient cholesterol you will die. All of the cells in your body are made up of cholesterol therefore cholesterol is vital for proper human function.
80% of the cholesterol in your body is made by the body so you don’t need to eat it to have it.
    Bart Kay
Cholesterol is an essential component of the wall of every cell in our body. It makes up a surprisingly high percentage of the fat in our brain, and our brains contain a lot of fat. Cholesterol forms part of the myelin sheaths of our nerves and is essential for properly transmitting brain and nerve impulses. Cholesterol is the precursor of Vitamin D and the sex hormones testosterone and progesterone. It helps fight off bacterial infections, as well as playing other roles in the immune system. It helps heal arterial damage by participating in plaque formation.
So cholesterol is nothing to be afraid of. Given that there is no evidence to show that cholesterol causes cardiovascular disease, and there is plenty of evidence to show that low cholesterol damages the body in many ways, I vote for not worrying about it. As long as your ratio of triglycerides to HDL is low enough, your cardiovascular risk is minimal.
It’s worth noting that the body regulates how much cholesterol is in the blood and that cholesterol is ultimately an essential and healthy compound. It acts as a building block for vitamin D, and numerous hormones. It is an essential part of bile salt–the substance that your body uses to digest and absorb essential fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and vitamin K2. [10]
Not only is cholesterol critical for numerous bodily functions, but many modern studies have also linked high cholesterol with lower risk for specific and all-cause mortality and lower cholesterol with increased risk for all-cause mortality.
The reason the medical profession worries so much about your LDL level is that studies have shown a a very strong correlation between lowering your cholesterol by taking a statin and the annual pay bonuses of pharmaceutical company executives. (Cynical? Moi?)

After my heart attack, my wife and doctor are firm believers that my 11-month carnivore diet were the reason.
Anyway, in a couple of months they are going to do more test to see how it's going, I have to try to get it down and I refused the statins.
Are there fats I should cut out and go mostly protein, they don't want me cooking with butter, I have been cooking my eggs with butter and putting a little bit of butter in 1 cup of coffee.
I have cut out 99% of sausages because I don't believe they were good, the only ones I eat are the Organic Beef Smocked Sausage Kielbasa that we buy at Costco, also hamburger meat 70/30, chicken thighs cooked in tallow, that sense then my wife has been ditching the skin, my favorite.
I have not eaten cheese in a long time, the only dairy I consume is organic half and half with coffee 1.5 tablespoon 10-12 oz cup.
I was eating 4 slices of bacon on the days I worked with eggs; wife is cutting that out, wife and doctor are both sold on the fact that Bacon fat, dairy and tallow are the reason for my heart attack.
I can already tell there is much less fat when I go to bathroom.
After my mom's dementia I have said more than once, I rather die than take a statin

Maybe that's why I buy regular eggs, I have a couple of chickens I have had more but they die off, if I was concerned with what the chickens eat going into my eggs, I would probably not eat the eggs after watching what they eat, in the yard.

Well that’s just so ignorant on several levels.
There is no way on this green earth that being carnivore for only 11 months could possibly cause a heart attack. Absolute bovine excrement. It takes a lifetime of bad eating and poor health to set up the circumstances within the body to cause a heart attack.
Some people can be more susceptible to heart disease due to their dna but even then it only means that they will probably contract CVD at an earlier age.
There has never, in the history of mankind, ever been a single study that proves that eating what man has always eaten from nearly the beginning of time causes CVD.
Your heart attack was not caused by eating carnivore. While it could be a dna deficiency it was most likely due to the diet you have eaten all of the years preceding carnivore.
If you want to lower your cholesterol it’s your business and I’ll support you in your efforts but there is no reason to do it. Every study where they tried to prove that cholesterol caused CVD ended up showing just the opposite. In fact they all showed that those with lower cholesterol experienced more all cause mortality than those with higher cholesterol.
There is no correlation between high cholesterol and heart attacks.
I’m not just talking out my rear here, I practice what I preach. I’ve been carnivore for over two years now. In that time I have reversed my heart issues and my cardiologist has taken me off all of my heart medications and only wants me to come in once a year for a check up now. He actually loves what I’m doing with my diet and my health.

Can you tolerate fiber and/or would you be willing to include psyllium husk, citrus fruits, or melons into your diet?
You could also consider supplementing with citrus bergamot or drinking a couple cups of Earl Grey tea with real citrus bergamot oil in it. Nattokinase, while doesn’t directly lower cholesterol, is known to decrease arteriole plaque and thin the blood.

The this guy did his research link in my signature may help you.
Don't believe the lies link also.

Here's another reason why we NEED NOT to play God with our bodies.
Your liver makes 80% of the cholesterol in your body, your liver regulates the cholesterol.
So why would your liver try to kill you??

Don't take my word for it.

    Ask AI

Can humans thrive on no cholesterol

Will human liver try to kill you with cholesterol

You have the tools and now a bit of guidance you need to finish the research.
I'm not a dr nor giving medical advice but you have proof with those 2 questions.
Hell ask the drug pushing dr, why would my liver try to kill me by making 80% of my cholesterol?
Keep a good look at their face while they try to respond.
Good luck and wish you well.

2014 I have main artery 98% blocked with stent in place had another heart attack 4 months later while drinking and eating the shit everyone calls food.
    1 year on carnivore strictly.
    16 eggs a day for 8 weeks
    Bacon and eggs mostly now
I'm feeling better now than I did in my 30s.

For me it is an easy call on the statins.
I am not a doctor nor a medical professional. The first six months my total cholesterol and my LDL dropped. Total cholesterol went from 239 to 219 and my LDL dropped from 187 to 152. The second six months my total dropped a few points, and my LDL went to 164.
I went a month or two stretch where I tried to eat leaner meats and I let the fat content drop way below what I had been eating. One, I didn't feel as energetic as low-fat and no sugar/no carbs leaves the body searching for energy. Since I feel like I was pretty much fat adaptive my body turned to fat stores. I think that was the increase in LDL I experienced a few months back.
The lipid test, much like glucose, is one spot in time and that number could readily change during the course of the day, the week the months. etc. If the body is becoming fat adaptive/adapted, it stands to reason there would be more fat in the blood. Cholesterol can go up.
All the things you listed will help with lowering cholesterol. I'm not sure beef or bacon fat would cause heart issues as the research does not support those age old teachings. I would think your heart issues are from the years prior to carnivore.
Eating carnivore is one thing. Having a partner that supports the efforts is one great, even being neutral at times, but having a partner who is anti-carnivore for health reasons is a whole different animal. Especially if their opinion is adamantly supported by your doctor. That will always be a tough row to hoe.
I would suggest exercise and lifting weights/resistance training. (understanding the heart issues may limit your abilities). I would especially target the legs. Air squats, jumping jacks, etc. Tons of sitting resistance work videos on you tube. Followed by longer walks to get in those steps.
If the fat is going to be in your blood the best thing to do is to increase the need for energy. Use the fat since it is already there.
Best of luck. Thoughts and prayers.
    Scott

Dear Enthusiast, I think you're the one who just suffered a heart attack. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced this! That's awful. I'm glad you're here! I'll be praying for you. I'm so glad you're still here and I'm so glad it wasn't as bad as it could've been. I hope you're able to tune in to what your body needs. I'll be praying for your rest of spirit and body. From what I've seen you've chosen a very wise diet to help your heart if your sugars and carbs are really low. Please avoid seed oils too. I saw a study where heart failure was induced in three months with rats through seed oil consumption. You can come back from this!

I eat hamburger, chicken, eggs, and usually some other meats, half and half with my coffee, was doing butter stated about a week before heart attack, I quit that, also reduced my coffee intake to 1 pot a day
Now at age 61 and higher chances of a second heart attack doesn't look like I will reach retirement age
