    Welcome Mrs_newmann86,
I'm pretty new here too but I'm not new to carnivore. I'm quite certain that carnivore will completely reverse all of your concerns.
I've never had a sweet tooth but regardless, if you eat a bunch of meat, you won't crave food.
I was a big chip eater but I haven't eaten any in years. I've come to realize that eating them was fun...associated with relaxing, watching TV and I later learned that junk food was created to make us addicted it. I absolutely HATE being manipulated and once I found that I had been duped, it was easy to say no.
I don't know what drives you, but find it and get rid of the sugar. Cancer feeds on sugar...that's a good inspiration!
    Good luck!

Coastal SC is one of the hottest places on the planet. Most look at the thermometer and say, "Just 94F" but it is not just 94. LOL
I lived in Louisiana on the water and in a small hole in the wall town in Texas for a bit and was stationed in California. I spent time in the Middle East as well.
SC is the only place I have ever been where you can hold the air in your hand. It is that thick with humidity.
Go ahead a get another drink of water while we are talking about it. You will need it.

Oh, I eat a lot of high quality salt rather than taking electrolytes regularly. I work outside in coastal south Carolina, so I do lose a lot of water.
My wife orders electrolyte powder from Dr. Berg because we like the guy and it seems to work well and tastes pretty good. I occasionally drink that, she drinks it first thing in the morning

    Welcome deercamp67,
I think Scott might be on to something with the empty stomach because, compared to where I came from carnivore has been a major blessing in my life.
I've been carnivore for several years and periodically have blowouts. I've strive to figure out why for quite a while because nothing really changes in my diet except meal timing.
Thanks Scott, I'm gonna keep an eye on that!

After looking at the pics of myself from a visit to my son's house about a month ago, I was shocked at how skinny I was. I mean, I looked healthy but I had no idea how puny I looked. Back home, I weighed in (never do that) and I was a mere 131lb. Dang!
Except during my bodybuilding days 20 or so years ago, I've always been around 155 lb. As an old dude realized that I need to be concerned with sarcopenia (muscle loss as we age).
I decided to target 150lb as a start and so I ditched the intermittent fasting (I was eating one or two meals and to target a bodyweight of 150lb I need to eat 150g of protein per day). So, on August 10, I added an early meal of at least 50 g of protein so I didn't have to force in 75g in two meals.
I also rearranged my gym training. I am doing three days of squat, bench, and barbell rows with the goal of working up to ten sets of ten of each exercise. Anytime I couldn't do 10 reps I stopped and moved on to the next exercise.
Once I got five sets of ten of all three exercises, I ditched the 10 sets goal and started over with whatever number of sets I could get with heavier weight (10lb additional for squats and 5lb for bench press and rows.
In 3 weeks I've gained 8 pounds! I've still got veins all over my lower abs and inner thighs, so if I've gained fat, it's negligible.
Carnivore is the sh...t! At least for me, the only way to eat enough protein to increase muscle mass is to only eat protein. There's no way I could eat this much protein AND eat carbs (or anything else!)

This is great hearing that you are doing well at the gym and seeing gains while on carnivore. I really need to amp up my exercise routine. I get inspired, but I struggle to carve out the time because I am busy and spread thin.

    Helenb,
Welcome. You're story of recovery is incredible and inspiring! Also a bit depressing I guess as we've all been duped throughout the years, and obviously that diet advice is still being preached.
I look forward to learning from you and sharing info.

Yes, I've heard that too. So as a general rule of thumb (after your initial adaptation/transition phase), if your stools are loose, back off the fat a little. And if they are uncomfortably too hard, add back in a little fat.
And then remember we all have times where we splurge, eat something that didn't agree with us, bad meat, or have a stomach virus, etc. We don't always want to jump to the conclusion that every episode of diarrhea must be diet related.

Welcome! I'm new to the forum and a couple years in on carnivore. I definitely ran into diarrhea early on and later, well into it. I am pretty sure that you have to dial in your personal fat intake after you are fully adapted to the diet.
I think I remember Dr. Chaffe saying that our body's only put out a certain amount of bile per day and once that's gone, you will pass the excess fat.
    Anyway, glad you're here.

I wish I could tolerate beef liver for the nutrition. I just can't stand it, even mixed with burger. To cover our bases, we take dedicated liver pills instead.
I also wish we had chickens, one day. My wife and I eat A LOT of eggs and knowing exactly what the chickens are eating would be great.

Here are three things my wife and I have done to make our carnivore diet a little more affordable.
    1) We shared a cow from a local farm. We bought 1/6 of a cow for about $700 which worked out to $11 lb
    2) We discoverd a huge pack of rump cap in our grocery store meat section. Rump cap is also called Picanha in Brazilian steakhouses and is tender with a big layer of fat across the top. Once cut into steaks, they resemble NY strip but are way better IMO
    3) We also discovered whole ribeye and cut 8 or 9 thick steaks out of a $111.00 pack...way cheaper than the normal $25 lb or so.
Bonus: a lot people are unaware of chuck eye steaks, which have been called "the poor man's ribeye". Almost as good has ribeye, half the cost!

I raise or hunt most of the meat I eat so I don’t have many shopping tips.Raising your own or hunting isn’t really that much of a cost savings it’s just what I like to do and it keeps my taxes down. It’s also nice to know where my food comes from and what’s in it.
The one shopping tip I have is to always buy on sale and in bulk. When I do buy meat I will generally buy a whole rib roast and cut my own steaks. I might spend two hundred dollars on one roast but I’ll get 10 to 15 one pound steaks out of that roast. You can’t buy the individual steaks for that price.
