  1. Yes, I am a Pro Member, grandfathered in under a previous pricing arrangement because I've never cancelled my membership. Before it was $5 got you in the door, and $20 got you the Pro membership. Today I believe $9.99 gets you in the door, and $30 gets you the Pro membership. And then if pay for a year at once for $300 then you're basically paying for 10 months and getting 2 months free.
  2. I have a biphasic sleep pattern now, and it's almost predictable, like clockwork. I pass out somewhere around 10-11pm. Then I wake around 2:30 and 3am, let the dog out, brush my teeth, go to my actual bed, and doom scroll on my phone for a bit before falling back asleep listening to something carnivore related on YouTube. Then I awake at 7am and when I am up then, I am up for good. I'm so used to it now I just accept it, lol.
  3. There are many people who make a habit of having an LMNT per day, whether they are fasting or not. This can certainly help. Over a year ago, I was having major electrolyte issues and cramps during the night (due to a pharmaceutical I was on but didn't know it at the time), having salt in my water, especially at bedtime, helped me avoid cramps and get a decent night's sleep.

  5. Man who lost six stone on Mounjaro warns of ‘horrible’ side effects no one mentionedAntony Hawman was able to completely transform his body – but it wasn't without unpleasant side effectsBrenna Cooper A man has opened up on the brutal side effects he experienced while losing six stone on Mounjaro. When combined with dietary changes and an active lifestyle, GLP-1 and GIP receptor drugs have allowed people who previously struggled with their weight to completely transform their bodies. It was these viral success stories which led Antony Hawman to start using the medication. "I decided I wanted to be healthier, which was the main aim," the 48-year-old, who is 6'1" and weighed 123kg (19.5 stone) at his heaviest, said. Antony's decision to use the drug wasn't only physical, as he also struggled with intense food cravings, adding: "I would think about food all the time, and I’d use it as a crutch: if I was sad, I’d eat, if I was happy, I’d reward myself with food." The 48-year-old weighed 123kg (19.5 stone) at his heaviest (Cover Images) So when you factor in that Mounjaro slows down your digestion and can reportedly quieten the 'food noise', it seemed like a no-brainer for Antony. The medication would provide major results for the business owner, allowing him to lose nearly 40kg (six stone) and go from an XL or XXL in July 2024. Antony is now a medium and wears a size 30 or 32 waist. However, it wasn't without horrible side effects. 'Pretty miserable'A few months after beginning his Mounjaro journey, Anthony began to experience severe vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration. According to Mounjaro manufacturer Eli Lilly, the most common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. These symptoms can lead to dehydration and potential kidney problems if not properly treated. "I moved up to 7.5mgs in my third month and had a pretty miserable weekend of chronic stomach pains, diarrhoea and dehydration," he recalled. "It wasn’t until I did my research via some chat rooms on TikTok, where a woman in Texas, believe it or not, told me to go back down to 5mgs, get some electrolytes and a decent probiotic and stick with it as long as it was working and then decide whether to move up. "I definitely felt the messaging was to move up the doses each month and that how it works "You’d have some side effects and they would pass. I figured out the hard way, that actually, the side effects were pretty grim but if you stick to the lower doses while you are still seeing weight loss and give yourself time to get used to the side effects, the journey was actually fine." Antony now, after losing six stone on Mounjaro (Cover Images) 'I have completely changed my mindset on food'Antony reduced his dose and then started taking the probiotic Symprove daily, which has allowed his side effects to completely disappear. Despite the unpleasant side effects, Antony does not regret using Mounjaro and added that he wished he'd found the drug sooner. "I was on hypertension drugs for hereditary hypertension and have been able to come down to the lowest level of medication from previously being on a cocktail of high doses, which truly is the best outcome," he added. "As long as you do your research and understand how to nourish your body and take some form of exercise, Mounjaro is an incredible tool, but it’s just that, a tool. "The best part is I have completely changed my mindset on food. I feel in control instead of it controlling me." LADbible has contacted Mounjaro manufacturer Eli Lilly for a comment. What are the other side effects of Mounjaro?Eli Lilly says the most common side effects of Mounjaro, which affect more than one in 10 people, are nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain and constipation. Slightly less common side effects include allergic reactions, dizziness, low blood pressure, bloating, burping, flatulence, heartburn, fatigue and gallstones. Rare side effects include gallbladder infection and changes in taste. People taking Mounjaro have also complained of the following: 'Mounjaro hair'One study found that around one in 20 people taking tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro) for weight loss experienced hair loss. Mounjaro can come with side effects (Matthew Horwood/Getty Images) A Mounjaro user complained on Reddit: "My sister today just did my hair, dyed it and then straightened it after I washed it. "Right at the end she turned around and said, I think your hair is falling cos you have these big gaps on your head. I asked her to take a photo and I’m horrified." Superdrug explained: "It’s unlikely that the medication itself is causing hair loss, but the rate at which your body is losing weight causes your hair to shed rapidly. "Losing weight quickly can be recognised by the body as a form of stress, and research shows this disrupts the normal hair follicle cycle, resulting in hair loss." Eli Lilly previously told LADbible: "The Mounjaro (tirzepatide) Patient Information Leaflet warns that hair loss is a common side effect. We encourage patients to consult their doctor or other healthcare professional regarding any side effects they may be experiencing and to ensure that they are getting genuine Lilly medicine." Effect on visionPopstar Robbie Williams, who said he was taking Mounjaro last year, struggles to see individual faces in the crowd at his shows after a decline in his vision since taking the jabs. He told The Sun: "I don't believe it's age; I believe it's the jabs." Robbie Williams complained of vision problems after taking Mounjaro (Grant Buchanan/Dave Benett/Getty Images) One study looked at nine patients experiencing vision problems after taking semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy) or tirzepatide. It noted that seven of them suffered a stroke of the optic nerve, which can cause irreversible loss of vision in one or both eyes. The eighth had inflammation of the optic nerve head, and the ninth had a stroke of the retina. Eli Lilly previously told LADbible: "Patient safety is Lilly’s top priority. We take any report involving patient safety seriously, and actively monitor, evaluate, and report safety information for all our medicines, including Mounjaro (tirzepatide), which is being used to help millions of patients around the world. "If anyone is experiencing side effects when taking a Lilly medicine, they should consult their doctor or other healthcare professional." 6. Ah, most mobile ISP's use "dynamic ip addresses" and will change every time you jump from wifi to a mobile network, restart your phone, etc, and will even bounce around different addresses as you travel.
  7. We're back online after a few hiccups. We should be good to go moving forward.
  8. This is one that I have been looking at at lately. It does a myriad of different things, with sous vide being just one of them.... https://www.sharkninja.com/ninja-combi-all-in-one-multicooker-oven-and-air-fryer/SFP701.html
  9. Welcome back @Laura - Glad you could rejoin us. Are you using a VPN? Some ISP's (internet service providers) route your signal to a nearby hub and that is where the internet thinks you are.
  10. Sous vide is something I really want to try. I'm still in the analysis-paralysis phase of what device I want to purchase in order to accomplish my sous vide dreams, lol
  11. Nice. You work with some nice folks. I've had a tomahawk ribeye twice. They show up from time to time at Sam's Club. Took forever to cook on the grille but it was worth the wait in the end. I was in heaven, lol.
  12. I used to love eating PB&J's but like you, I was heavy on the jam and my sandwhiches were more akin to a jelly donut, lol I found these statements interesting, since they make sense and do have an underlying scientific backing.

  14. For some reason, I am unable to edit the main page anymore, which is why the livestream advert in the upper right is still displaying an ad for a Monday back in January. At the same time, I am unable to run the upgrade process from within the software to fetch and install the next update. So, sometime in the next week or so, I will be creating a backup of the database and completely erasing the site and uploading a fresh copy. We will likely be offline for about 30 minutes when that happens. I will post an announcement before we go offline to perform the upgrade manually.

  16. 6 popular peanut butters linked to colon cancerStory by Son of Grey Peanut butter is a staple in many households, loved for its creamy texture, nutty flavor, and protein content. However, not all peanut butter is created equal. Certain types of commercially processed peanut butter may contain added sugars, unhealthy oils, and chemical contaminants that studies suggest could increase the risk of colorectal cancer. Understanding which kinds to avoid can help you enjoy peanut butter safely while maintaining a healthy diet. Here’s a look at kinds of peanut butter linked to colon cancer risks. Peanut Butter with Added Hydrogenated OilsMany mass-market peanut butters contain hydrogenated oils to improve shelf life and prevent separation. These trans fats are widely linked to inflammation and increased cancer risk, including colon cancer. Common brands with older formulations that included hydrogenated oils include Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter and Jif Creamy Peanut Butter. While these brands have reformulated many of their products to remove partially hydrogenated oils, older stock and certain varieties may still pose risks. Peanut Butter High in Added SugarsExcessive sugar consumption has been associated with chronic inflammation and insulin resistance, factors that can contribute to colon cancer development. Many flavored or “sweetened” peanut butters—such as Reese’s Peanut Butter Spread or honey-flavored supermarket brands—contain high amounts of added sugar beyond what’s naturally in peanuts. These products are convenient for desserts and snacks but may carry hidden health risks when consumed frequently. Peanut Butter Contaminated with AflatoxinsAflatoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by molds on peanuts, particularly if storage conditions are poor. Long-term exposure to aflatoxins has been linked to liver cancer and may contribute indirectly to colorectal cancer risk due to systemic inflammation and DNA damage. While major brands like Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter and Planters Peanut Butter test rigorously for aflatoxins, lower-cost store brands or imported peanut butters may be more likely to contain small amounts of these toxins. Ultra-Processed Peanut ButtersUltra-processed peanut butters often contain a mix of additives, stabilizers, and preservatives that can affect gut health. Poor gut microbiome balance is increasingly recognized as a factor in colon cancer risk. Brands like Peter Pan Extra Crunchy or value-line supermarket peanut butters may include emulsifiers and stabilizers that are generally safe in small amounts but could have cumulative effects over time when consumed daily. Tips for Choosing Safer Peanut ButterOpt for natural or “just peanuts” varieties with no added hydrogenated oils or sugars. Check for aflatoxin testing or certifications from major brands. Store peanut butter properly in a cool, dry pantry or refrigerate to reduce mold growth. Moderate consumption to avoid excess calories, sugars, or unhealthy fats. While peanut butter can be a healthy protein and fiber source, products with hydrogenated oils, added sugars, aflatoxin contamination, or excessive processing may contribute to colon cancer risk. Choosing natural, minimally processed peanut butter from trusted brands like Smucker’s Natural, MaraNatha, or 365 by Whole Foods, and storing it carefully, can help you enjoy this classic snack safely and responsibly. 17. And I don't think anyone really has to. Sure, many choose to, but there's nothing wrong with those who treat carnivore as an elimination diet and then later reintroduce other foods. Part of the reason for using carnivore as an elimination diet is to heal and gain mastery over those tendencies to rely on sugar or alcohol or other substances. The hard part, and for some this is really really hard, is abstaining long enough to reap the benefits. I still drank alcohol on occasion even on carnivore - precisely once a month when we went out for Open Mic Night or Karaoke. But over time, I lost my desire for it, and haven't drank in months (plus with my kidney disease even a little alcohol gives me major side effects). But during my first year, if I deviated, it became clear I was an addict. After 6 months on carnivore my wife wanted me to taste some pumpkin bread because it was my mother's recipe. That one bite had me jonesing for more, and I am talking shaking hands and insatiable cravings and feelings of hunger, even though I had just had dinner. It was a weird, surreal experience that I never felt before. However, now that I am almost 3 years in, a single bite of pumpkin bread doesn't phase me. It's like I am immune now. The only reason I tell this story is because I believe that the same thing would happen for you with sugar and alcohol..... in time, that is.
  18. The beef tongue is intriguing for sure. When I was in Florida a couple summers ago, I had "lengua" tacos, which was beef tongue. It was good.

  20. 2MAD is my preferred pattern. If possible, I like to wait several hours after waking up to eat, and then I will have eggs and a breakfast meat. About 7 hours later the wife and I will have dinner and this is quite commonly 1 lb or more of beef, although I also enjoy chicken, fish, seafood, etc here and there because I have a need for some variety. If I end up having meal #1 early, then mid-day I will likely have some pork rinds or beef jerky as a hold-me-over. I think these 2 statements are related. The fruit isn't to blame for the food coma, but the sweet addictiveness of fructose makes it easier to crave the addictiveness of alcohol. The bad news is that the body will bounce out of ketosis (fat burning) to prioritize metabolizing the alcohol first, followed by the fructose, and you will struggle to become firmly fat adapted. I would recommend pure carnivore for a set period of time (like 90 days or so). Then at a later time if you want to reintroduce an occasional fruit or rare sip of alcohol, that's your prerogative. At that time you may have gotten mastery over it and will be less inclined to cave into having it all the time.
  21. How long did you commit to? It's been 90 days, which is a common goal or recommendation for someone trying the carnivore diet. We've remained tuned and are curious how you have been fairing. Any updates?
  22. Indeed! There are people who weren't disciplined enough to stick to carnivore OR were lacking accurate knowledge and therefore doing carnivore wrong that they go off of it and then declare 'carnivore failed me' which probably was not the case at all.
  23. And in the absence of fat or carbs would possibly lead to 'rabbit starvation'. With low carb you can pull off lean meat and veggies, but it doesn't work with carnivore and by definition isn't appropriate for keto.
  24. Get some Egg Life Wraps, put that cheese in the middle and microwave it and boom! Quesadilla! ;)
  25. I can't remember a specific turning point, timeline, etc. I started carnivore in May 2023 and by November I had reached my goal weight. Sometime in the middle of that, in late August or early September, I started this forum. I can remember one of my early posts mentioning how my depression, negative thinking, and brain fog seemed to have alleviated to a great degree. So that would fall somewhere in the 5-6 month range at the latest. I've only ever heard the term "carnivore clarity" (and never heard of "keto bliss") a few times. I never really gave it much thought. I always assumed it referred having a more positive outlook in life.
