How to start
Laura replied to The Hamburgler's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
I agree, Miranda! Why overtax the system, with what is unnecessary! I could never do that. It's more than enough for me to eat 1 8 oz burger with 2 oz cheese, plus some Greek yogurt every day! Beyond that, Id be sick! -
I'm a wimp when it comes to heat, after being raised in Alaska, and living in Northwest Washington State. You guys are tough to endure that!

I admire your boldness, Geezy! Dr Berry says we all need more vitamin P, for patience. My weight loss isn't happening as quickly as I would like, but I figure my body is prioritizing healing, which I need a lot of. I've just come to the place where I know I need to stop consuming plant toxins, as they weren't helping me.

Welcome, The Hamburglar!! You will probably end up trying different variations, to find out what works best for you. This is only my 3rd day, without nuts. I am including some mozzarella cheese slices, plain Full fat Greek yogurt, and my only meat is beef, mostly burger. I hope to get to beef only. -
I tried the raw honey, and didn't have good results. Will stick to putting raw green stevia in my Greek yogurt. One of the problems with sugars, is they produce aldehydes in the body, which bad organisms can then ferment into alcohol, which damages the liver, and produces a toxic soup. I'm with you, Miranda, on reducing supplements. I've tried to ditch them several times in the past, and felt so bad, I added them back. I think I will try to slowly reduce them. One concerning thing about dried herbs is the molds. Who knows how long and how they were stored?

Thank you, Orweller, for those ideas! I should try focusing on one area at a time. Have been doing pretty much the same routine for years, which works the whole bod every day. Perhaps I would see better results if I focused intensely on one area at a time . Scott, it's amazing to me that you manage all of that with your condition! You are a trooper!!

Wow, Scott, that's great that you're doing all of that! It is important to keep the blood flowing, and to keep our organs healthy.

Does anyone n the community have a regular exercise routine? If so, what do you do? I do about one hour and twenty minutes, of resistance bands, light weights, and a Jane Fonda type routine. Plus moving around a lot throughout the day. I'm not a sitter-like to keep moving!

Andre-Im sure this is very frustrating for you. I, too, have been stalled for about a year now, and am trying to figure it out. You may want to check out Annette Bosworth, MD(Dr Boz). She seems to do a lot with macros. Another quite drastic approach is Protein Sparing Modified Fast, which Maria Emmerich promotes. I dropped a bunch of weight, and got down to 100 lbs, when I first started this in 2018, then started gaining about a year ago, and am now stalled at 123. I do know it wouldn't be good to add a bunch of inflammatory carbs, which will spike your insulin.

I just started taking a probiotic, again, after being off of it for a while, and it's already making a difference in my digestion in just 2 days. Don't know if that would help you. The one I'm using is Solgar Advanced Bowel Support, 30 billion. No additives, just the veggie cap. I also use 3 digestive enzymes: Enzymedica Digest, Enzymedica Lypo Gold, and Codeage Beef Pancreas. I have much trouble with digestion, especially fat digestion, and all these help a lot!!

A soup with ground beef, zucchini (peeled and seeded), and tiny bits of fresh ginger, kombu, carrot, and romaine. Plus some peeled and seeded cucumber. My gut and skin have been really bad, so decided to try adding back a few veg, as well as a probiotic. I also had a bit of cashew butter, nothing added, just dry roasted cashews. Maybe keto is better for me. The leg cramps with straight Carnivore, even with a few nuts, are unbearable for me. And I'm taking electrolytes. 800-1000 mg magnesium daily.- 1,587 replies

Welcome, Susyn! So glad you joined. I just joined myself. I've been Keto/Carnivore, since 2018,and have tried many variations of the diets. Now I'm just eating beef and a few cashews. It's great that you have no health issues, and are just trying to lose a bit. It's also great that your husband is Carnivore, and to have each other's support. I'm sure you will find this is a very caring community. Will check out your YouTube channel. I

Welcome, Jughead! I just joined myself, and find this to be a very supportive, informative, and caring community. I have been Keto/Carnivore since 2018, and have tried many variations of those diets. Now I'm just eating beef and a few cashews. I did have some cheese today, and I need to ditch that for good. We're all different, so as the others said, you need to find what works for your body. Ditching the things you have is a great place to start.
