  1. Haven't been doing so well lately. Yesterday I had to put one of my dogs to sleep so I ate a large Cadbury caramel chocolate bar. Today I just didn't want to eat, but I managed some KetoChow (for nutrients in case I couldn't eat the rest of the day) and a hamburger patty with butter. Hug your loved ones, tell them how important they are to you, both human and furry. You never know what's going to happen.

Yes, again, Susyn, so sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts today!!

  2. Been away for a bit. I just couldn't keep up with the topics and needed a break. After 32 days Carnivore, I broke. Just couldn't take the awful (to me) food anymore. I was getting really depressed about it. I've decided to add in avocado mayo, mustard, ocassional organic ketchup and very occasionally a square of Ghirardelli chocolate, or an in season stone fruit. I don't have any health issues, so I should be fine with this. At least for now. I'm making a big effort to make sure I get my protein (my biggest hurdle) in before anything else. Thank you to Laura & Geezy for their support!

      Hi Susyn:

So glad you are back!  I know the group here isn't dogmatic about our food choices, and I think if those things can help you stay close to the plan, then go for it. You know what works better than anyone.  We are all different. Like you said, protein is important. 😊😊

      Thank you, Laura!!!

  3. I have been lifting weights 4 times a week, treadmill (walk nowadays, used to run) 6-7 days a week for 40+ years. I have added restorative yoga once a week for a couple of years. I run three or four 5Ks a year since 1999. The 50-59 female age group is pretty small, so I usually come in first. Exercise has never made the slightest impact on my weight, I do it to stay healthy and mobile as I age.
  4. Wish me luck. I have to fast tomorrow. I'm working at our Primary polls from 5am to 8pm. Long day!!!

  5. What do you guys think about using (clean, grassfed) whey protein powder occasionally for those who cannot eat enough protein for whatever reason? Also; for those having trouble getting enough fat, or on the verge of giving up because they're desperate for something other than meat, utilizing a serving KetoChow to stay technically Carnivore?
  6. Hadn't thought of that! I'll post it in a few days.
  7. I'm not a big fan of eggs. To lesson the taste and boost my nutrition; I mix 2 scoops of unflavored collagen into two eggs and cook in either bacon fat, or a lot of butter. It gets really fluffy and kind of crunchy.
  8. I've only been Carnivore 3 weeks and it's just finally started to become "normal". Currently I'm about 55% fat. If I go higher (right now) it's like brown water. Electrolytes and dialing in your personal fat tolerance seems to be key. It can take a long time. Remember, your body is busy healing years to decades of damage.
  9. How long have you been Carnivore, what was your diet before, and are you getting enough fat? The transition period can have some weird side effects.
  10. Any pictures? Here are my furbabies: Gryffin (3), Berrin (12) & Rowan (12)
