    Hey folks,

I've noticed that I have been feeling a little constipated at times lately and it got me wondering if different types of fat are better or worse when it comes to avoiding constipation.

I've been wondering about Butter, Lard, Tallow, Ghee.

Sure, I can address my issue in some way with better hydration, but I'm still curious about whether the fats mentioned all have the same effect

    Anyone got any opinions? Literature?

    Butter works for me.

  2. I have been lifting weights 4 times a week, treadmill (walk nowadays, used to run) 6-7 days a week for 40+ years. I have added restorative yoga once a week for a couple of years. I run three or four 5Ks a year since 1999. The 50-59 female age group is pretty small, so I usually come in first. Exercise has never made the slightest impact on my weight, I do it to stay healthy and mobile as I age.

  3. I've only been Carnivore 3 weeks and it's just finally started to become "normal". Currently I'm about 55% fat. If I go higher (right now) it's like brown water. Electrolytes and dialing in your personal fat tolerance seems to be key. It can take a long time. Remember, your body is busy healing years to decades of damage.

  4. I used to give blood and they would always have a hissy fit over my cholesterol (around 500). My triglycerides were low, even when I was eating my worst, and my ratio was always great. Now I'm eating the Proper Human Diet. I can't do any better than that. It will be what my genes determine it should be. I have zero heart disease in my family anyway.

I like Fage and Brown Cow brands. I have made it in the past. I think you just heat it(milk) to a certain degree and add a tablespoon or two of yogurt you have on hand and then you wrap it in towel to maintain temp and leave it on counter overnight.

Once we move, I may get a yogurt maker. Although I have to see if we can get raw milk where we end up. It's easy to get here.

  6. Hi Miranda! I just have shorts on my channel so far, my longest is just over a minute. It's public.  @Susyn_C137. I have a whole 6 followers 😆 I'm a homemaker as well; no kids, just dogs. I was the one reluctant to go Carnivore, my husband has been Carnivore for about a year (minus my bad influence a few times). He's an OTR flatbed driver, so he's gone 320+ days a year. Nice to "meat" you!

  8. Hi everyone. My name is Susyn, I'm 55, and I'm hoping this group is my new home? I have tried many other groups, but I never felt like I belonged. I just started a tiny youtube channel just to keep me motivated. My journey is a little different, I'm not on any medications, I'm only about 15 pounds overweight, and I have no real health issues. I just want to stay that way, and hopefully improve my minor issues as I age. I'm very boring, I don't drink alcohol (or coffee), do any drugs, or smoke. I've never been interested in any of those things. I've been working out since I was 12, only taking time off when I was injured, or after a surgery. I was anorexic as a teen, and became a compulsive eater after my mom died when I was 21. I've gained and lost the same 40 pounds multiple times over the years. Been on every diet from Cambridge liquid diet in the 80s, calorie restriction, phen-fen, etc. I don't want to diet anymore. I just want to be healthy. My issue is that I dislike meat, always have. (It was easy for me to be vegan 20 years ago-that lasted 2 years) I've been Carnivore since July 8th. So far my eyesight (far and near) has improved, my panic attacks have gone, my skin is better, my occasional ocular migraines have ceased, and my tinnitus has all but disappeared. I see the benefits, but I still struggle. Sorry for the length of this, I didn't know what to leave out. Have a great day!
