  1. Good to hear and hope you stick with it. Carnivore is the gift that keeps on giving.
  2. Same here for me up until surgery. Don't get hooked on numbers also look for fitting into clothes you couldn't fit into for years. I stalled for 2 months now but I can fit into jeans I was too fat to fit into since 2019.
  3. Welcome aboard. As you, my wife isn't carnivore but I am. I'm here like yourself to get to feeling better but also to be here for my wife. Food for thought, we cannot moderate carbs, we're here not for ourselves but for those we love and care about. Whenever I get the urge to try Japanese mayo (usa made), I look at nutrition label and see added sugar and Natural Flavor. That reminds me why I cannot give into PACKAGED FOODS. Keep strong and stay the path of good health.
  4. Please research youtube with kidney disease and carnivore diet What works for me may/may not work for the next person. Research, and make your decision on your conclusion of the evidence as we cannot give any medical advice. Best of luck to you and we'll help best we can.
  5. 1 month has passed since hernia surgery and my digestive system has been out of whack. I took magnesium citrate to flush my system after surgery, 4 days later it seemed to be back to normal. I was eating eggs and bacon like when I started and nothing but watery stools for the time until I fasted then went on all ribeye for 2 weeks. Up until now my stools are not as they were before surgery. So be aware even the most minor surgery can screw up your metabolism/digestive system up for a while. My appetite was insatiable as well I could eat 2lbs of ribeye and 1.25 lbs minced beef a day. My meat stash is depleted
  6. My guess is your body needs the nutrients from the fat. As long as it's not affecting you negatively I wouldn't be concerned. Welcome aboard
  7. Yup @Scott F. basically if you don't meander around scratching your head "did I forget something " you sir are enjoying the mental clarity from carnivore like the rest of us. I have been sleeping whenever I'm tired since surgery continued until probably 1st of January. January 1st is balls to the wall getting into shape and hopefully finding pt work.
  8. Dr Chaffee, Dr Barry, Dr Cywes have extensive information about lipids, statins. You must do the research and only you can make the decision after your conclusion on pro/con use of statins. My profile pic expresses my feelings on Healthcare, government etc. Welcome aboard @Garrylocky68. Enjoy the ride.
  9. Let me rock the boat, capsize, mutiny . I'm not as tactful when pushed but results are quick.
  10. Another thing to note is our bodies produce (self made not outside influence) 80% of our LDL, the brain is made of/uses 10% of our LDL. This explains as to why vegans/vegetarians act the way they do.
  11. Basically a test that can tell you if there is any HARD plaque in your carotid BUT cannot tell you if there is soft plaque (the stuff you need to worry about).
  12. I'm gonna say this.... F°•☆ statins and the Dr that PUSHES this crap if all your metabolic markers are good. What's your triglyceride/hdl ratio? High triglycerides and high hdl I have concerns but if your hdl/triglyceride ratio is 1.0> tell your doctor go ahead and prescribe, but just don't fill it after you leave.
  13. 2lbs of ribeye tonight haven't been in the mood to grill lately.
  14. First time in almost 6 months not eating out I broke down today. Wife took my hashbrowns and pancakes. I took her crumbled bacon.
  15. A good dark roasted coffee, smoked paprika, ground oregano and a good helping of garlic rub is good for pork butt. Danos rubs are spicy but clean.
  16. Don't forget lungs, intestines and brain. I have yet to try brains but add a little hot sauce it should be good.
  17. Fish cheek is what is the best. I usually deferred to my FiL , well because you know . When he's not around fish head is mine.
  18. That's part of the answer hormones play a big part in your diet. So breast feeding, your cycle etc will really deplete your energy. Healing won't happen overnight but I can tell you this lifestyle has been detrimental to my being. I have been unable to walk 20 ft without being winded and sitting down for 10 minutes. I now am able to get around alot better, not winded nor aching like before. I spent 18 years that way and even had back surgery but still didn't help. Be patient and let this lifestyle change do its magic. Since we don't know your diet watch the video linked in my signature.
  19. I've had almost every organ in an animal including bull nuts and cow uterus. Waste not want not. Fish eyes are good
  20. Welcome aboard @Colene. Like @Geezy said it's basically a process of elimination. Too many variables will take you down the wrong path. Meat/fat ratio, you may need to up your in your diet. Fats are your energy source. You will need to make sure you are well hydrated with electrolytes (Redmond real salt added to your water. I don't believe in commercial products for hydration. Understand anything outside of Meat, saturated fats, animal products ie; eggs butter and milk may not be and probably not carnivore. Link in my signature will give you a better idea. Good luck and best wishes. We're here to answer questions best we can but this is just our opinion and not medical advice.
  21. I myself am an addict, alcoholic, cigarettes and carbohydrates. Since quitting all of the above smell of booze makes me nauseous, cigarettes smell like and taste like crap. Carbs are by far the easiest for me since I stopped the first 2. If you let 1 small thing back in you will say it's ok add another and another then you let yourself fail. Since my surgery September 16 I have tried keeping BBB&E, but my body doesn't like eggs and bacon so I'm just beef 3x a day now. I love eggs but my body says NO. Keep it simple and you won't regret it like you do now.
