What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Rain let up long enough for me to fire up the pit so I made the most of it. Bacon wrapped dove, a rack of spareribs and a flat iron steak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Been outa pocket lately between hunting and traveling. I was going to smoke some ribs today along with some steak and some bacon wrapped dove breast’s but it’s been raining all day so maybe tomorrow. So today I just had hamburger patties made with 2 pounds of venison burger, 1 pound of venison breakfast sausage and one pound of chopped up bacon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

red meat, water and salt?
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
You are finding out that eating ruminants are the best for optimal health. For some people that’s all they can eat. I’m fortunate though that I can eat pork and this is my favorite way to cook it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

New to carnivore (sorta) and have hit a weight loss plateau

Congratulations on the progress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Have you actually had a blood test to show that you have and vitamin and mineral deficiencies? If you haven’t then you don’t really know for sure what your needs are. I do not take any potassium supplements and yet my blood tests show that my potassium levels are perfectly normal. All I eat 98% of the time is animal fats, animal proteins, salt and water. So I must be getting my potassium from my meats and I think you can too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The other guys are leading you in the right direction Rock. I will just add that there are electrolyte supplements that don’t have Stevia or any other sweeteners in them. KetoChow is one and LMNT has one as well. Your cholesterol going up should not be a concern. There is no evidence that high cholesterol causes any heart disease. High LDLc is good for you and the only cholesterol marker you need to look at is your HDL to Triglyceride ratio. Divide your Tri’s by the HDL and if your ratio is 1.5 or less you are good to go. 2 isn’t terrible but could use improvement. At four months you could still be adapting so give it more time. Yes, fat and salt help with your energy. After all, you are no longer using glucose for energy so you must use ketones for energy and that can only come from fat. You are eating three meals a day but are you eating enough? It sounds like you have a high metabolism so you really need to sock the food away. Me personally I can function just fine and maintain my weight eating 1500 to 1700 calories a day and I do that with just one meal a day but I don’t have a high metabolism. I don’t know how many calories you are eating per day but it sounds like you may need to start tracking your macros the see if you are in a calorie deficit and to make sure you’re getting enough fat vs protein. You need to be your own N of 1 and experiment. If your eating 2000 cal per day then you might kick that up to 2500 for a few weeks to a month and see what happens. Keep a journal while you do this. If you still are losing the go up another 500 calories and see what happens. Keep doing this until you find what works for you. You can also use this method for finding the proper fat to protein ratio as well. You may need to increase your protein along with the fat to help add muscle. You just need to play with the numbers. Everyone is different so you need to find your own groove. Good luck and welcome to Carnivore Talk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You obviously look very fit and you have a good metabolism. All of my experience comes from the other spectrum of being fat, out of shape and metabolically sick but there are more and more athletes coming into the carnivore lifestyle for the simple fact that it’s a healthier way to eat and they find that once they are fat adapted they have better endurance. I agree wholeheartedly that you need to look up Dr’s. Chaffee and Baker. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience being world class athletes who eat carnivore. most recent bloodwork/NMOSD-Devic's syndrome
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
Exactly the right attitude to have Scott. We have eaten a lifetime of bad food and it takes time to heal and turn things around. You’ve definitely got a handle on this. We are in this for the long haul so light the fire. Burn the beast and be happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

most recent bloodwork/NMOSD-Devic's syndrome
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
That great that you have a receptive doctor Scott. Your BP isn’t terribly low as long as you aren’t feeling any issues such as light headedness. If you are concerned you may want to up your sodium intake. Are you taking any medications that could be lowering it? I know I had one of my heart meds that was bringing mine down to 78 over 54. Your LDLc is just fine. I wouldn’t expect it to go down on carnivore. In fact it usually goes up. The only concern I see on your cholesterol is your triglyceride’s and your HDL. It would be nice to see that HDL come up some and those tri’s come down. The best indicator of cardiovascular health is not the LDL but the tri to HDL ratio. You divide the HDL into the triglycerides and what you want to see is a 1.5 ratio or less. A ratio of 2 isn’t terrible but it could definitely be improved. Just the fact that your tri’s are under a hundred is good. I think you are doing good and you’ll see even better results a year from now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yes you can. Most supplements that aren’t mineral in nature are going to be a plant derivative. In the beginning of eating carnivore many people do take supplements and I did as well but as you become fat adapted and metabolically healthy you find that you don’t need them anymore. If you are eating a fat and meat rich diet you should be getting all of the nutrients you need. If you are not sticking to a strict carnivore diet then you may need too. Also, if you have some specific issue that needs help you may need to supplement something in particular to help it. For instance, I take a magnesium supplement with citrate in it to help a bowel issue but here lately I think it’s getting better so I’m going to hold off taking it for awhile and see if that part of my body is finally getting adjusted to this way of eating. The thing with plant supplements is are they really all that bio available to our bodies? If the whole vegetables aren’t bio available to our bodies as many carnivore doctors claim then I wonder if the supplements, especially in their small amount, could actually do much of anything. Something to think about. Give it a try if you feel you may need them and maybe gradually get off of them as you progress in your health. If you choose to use them the I would look for the cleanest ones I could find. Many of the commercial ones sold in the big stores will have sugar and seed oils or soy in them. I would try to avoid that if possible. Try to find a heath food store or a compound pharmacy and you may find cleaner products. I get my toothpaste and deodorant at a health food store and I’ve gotten supplements for my mother in law there and I have found some that aren’t too bad. Good luck on your journey and let us know how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, new Carnivore here...with a question or two.
Geezy replied to rpavich's topic in Greetings and Introductions
Agreed. I never crave anything sweet or carby. I lost all of that in about 60 days of carnivore. It was one of the great freedoms of this way of eating. No more addictions to food. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What's your Dr's thoughts 🤔
Geezy replied to Meathead's topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
The majority of them are ignorant and it’s not really their fault. They never studied nutrition in school and never read the studies cover to cover just the title and the conclusion. I waited until my doctors were astonished and flabbergasted by the results and healing I received in less that one year and then I told them what had done to get there. It’s funny how they look at the results but deny the truth. My primary care doc loves what I’ve done but wants me on a statin and won’t listen to reason. We wants me to eat lean meats and doesn’t understand the human physiology and how fat works in the body. This is the same doctor that told me I was going to die because I refused to wear a mask and get “the jab”. He just don’t get it even when the proof is staring him in the face. My gastroenterologist, who was treating my Crohn’s disease with a high carb and high fiber diet, was killing me but when I when to him after eating strict carnivore for thirty days and told him I was cured because I did the exact opposite of what he told me to do he just said with a very huffy attitude “Well I’m glad you found something that works for you. You obviously don’t need me anymore.” Lol! I actually laughed and said “I guess you’re right” and we parted ways. My cardiologist has totally fallen in love with what I’ve done. He is convinced that I’m on the right path and praises what I’ve accomplished. He has slowly reduced all of my heart medication over a years period and finally took me off of the last of it and said “You’ve done more to heal yourself than anything I could have done for you and if you are still doing this good in six months I’m going to drop you as a patient. So it all depends on your doctors. Some are willing to look at things with an open mind and see the truth and others refuse to let go of their pride and look at the possibilities that they may be wrong and learn something from it. The only thing I advise is to be honest with them. It is constantly said that there have been no studies proving that carnivore works but I say we are the studies. Our doctors document every visit and if we are honest with them then our progress is being documented and tracked and some day all of this information may come to light and vindicate us.
