  1. I’ve heard great things about beef bacon. I haven’t found any locally but the next time I’m at one of my butcher shops I’m going to ask them about it. I’ll check out your source as well. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. While I didn’t experienced joint pain in the beginning I suppose it could be oxalate dumping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yes I know and no I didn’t need to google it. I love corned beef. My mother used to fix corned beef and cabbage quite often. I have used a corned beef and cabbage stew recipe from Alton Brown that is great. Not to spoil the trivia but it’s a salty kernel indeed that makes the beef so good. While I have no use for the cabbage anymore I could do some serious damage the a whole corned beef by itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Welcome Luis. If I may make a suggestion, while coconut oil is less bad than a seed oil, it’s still not the healthiest choice. If you would like to optimize your carnivore diet you might want to try using an animal fat such as tallow, lard, bacon grease, butter, ghee or duck fat. These would help you in becoming better fat adapted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Good deal Eric. Welcome. This WOE is not about weight so your slender profile should not have anything to do with this diet. It’s all about becoming metabolically healthy. That and it’s just the way we should all eat anyways. IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yes it is even if it isn’t Irish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Mud bugs y’all. Just might have come close to eating my weight in these things today. Love these, like crawfish crack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Grilled chicken with a side of butter. Bacon and eggs. Hamburger patties, naked. Some convenience stores with have boiled or pickled eggs. You can also stop in a grocery store and get some cheese, clean sausage or lunch meat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Carnivore nachos. Venison chorizo, sharp cheddar and plain pork rinds. Man, I love these things. I ate two of these platters today. Probably too much cheese but we’ll see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It’s really not that hard. 1 gram of protein will not be the same size as 1 gram of fat. A 1-1 ratio should give you a calorie ratio of 70% - 30% or even a 80% - 20% protein to fat. Generally a well marbled ribeye will have the correct ratio you are looking for. Cooking everything in animal fats along with well marbled meats will usually suffice. For leaner cuts such as chicken or filets and some pork you can easily add butter to up the fat ratio. There are apps that you can use to calculate all of your micro’s that will give you a better idea of how to recognize the proper ratio visually. I used one for awhile to see if I was on the right track and it showed me I was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That’s fantastic. Congratulations. I’m in the same boat as you with family and friends. Many in my family know that carnivore is the truth and the way but they aren’t willing to give up their “fun” foods. I get it. They don’t have the medical issues that I have that drove me to carnivore. If your body feels good, you feel good so you have this false sense of security that makes you think you’re healthy. Then there’s the ones who see your progress but think it’s just a faze you’re going through and know that eventually you’ll be back to your old ways and they will have the smug satisfaction that they were right. They are wrong of course but they will never let go of that smugness unless they experience what I’ve gone through. Then there are those who just don’t care. They are old and even though they are in bad health and pain they figure it’s just part of being old. They just can’t understand or even try to understand that we are correct when they’ve been brought up eating carbs and doctors telling them it’s healthy. Even when the proof is standing right before them they just can’t believe it to be true. One elderly woman whom we take care of and is morbidly obese, had several small strokes and has countless health issues, is weak and in pain told me “I’ve only got so many more days left so I just want to enjoy those last days enjoying my food.” I get it but then again I don’t understand it. 12. Ribeye at my sister in law’s restaurant today. And now a little venison stew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I saw that on Baker’s video today. I don’t know if I’ll ever try one but I can see where it would be interesting to track what happens throughout the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Venison and eggs. Both taken by my hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well that’s pretty interesting testimony. I’ve never heard of someone having this kind of issue unless they had a liver disease. From your explanation that sounds exactly like what you have. You may need to go see an internist and see what’s wrong. Jaundice is definitely a sign of something wrong with the liver. It also sounds like most foods bother you both meat and vegetables. That’s quite a predicament. I’m not sure what to tell you because eating the most optimal diet for humans is fat, meat, salt and water. That’s all the human body needs for nutrition. If you aren’t able to eat that and vegetables don’t sit well with you then there may not be much anyone can do for you except a doctor. I certainly hope you find a way to fix this. Good luck. 18. So are you trying to go full carnivore? Are you doing this for metabolic health? If so that’s great. This is the way man has always been designed to eat and regardless of whether one eats carnivore for weight loss, weight gain or just better health it’s just the proper way to eat. I’m not sure what not having a liver strong enough to eat meat means. Never head of anything like that before. I suppose if you’ve been a vegetarian for a long time you could very well get sick trying to eat too much too soon so in that case I would definitely introduce meat slowly and wean myself off of plants slowly until my body could handle the transformation. I knew a young lady who was raised strict 7th Day Adventist so she was a strict vegetarian. She was unhealthy and knew it was because of her religious diet but her aversion towards meat was so strong that when she tried to eat meat she’d just get sick and toss her cookies. Funny thing is was that she loved the refried bean burrito at a local fast food restaurant and had no problem eating it. I never had the heart to tell her that the refried beans are made with lard. 19. Have you tried taking a magnesium citrate supplement or a magnesium complex that includes the citrate? It’s the only thing that works for me. I don’t have a gallbladder so I don’t know if that’s part of my issue or not. I don’t know if I’m producing too much bile or not enough. In my constipation my stools are light in color. That’s generally an indicator of excessive bile production. A black stool may be an indication of blood in the stool or too much iron. 20. Cooked up a pound of homemade bacon today. Then cooked up a pound of venison breakfast sausage and a pound of venison chorizo. Grazed on those while I was cooking them. So I’ve got the breakfast meat covered for the next two weeks. Then I ate some more venison backstrap and steak sauce. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. No sir. I used to own a half interest in a small herd but that was years ago. These come from my sister in law’s restaurant. I’m her butcher and once a week I cut her ribeyes for her from the rib roasts. She serves both beef and bison. My reward for helping her is I get a ribeye meal at the restaurant and I get to keep the end cuts and the trimmings. The bison gets eaten and the beef trimmings I render down for tallow. 22. Normal? No, but it’s hard to say what it may be without more information about your health and what you are eating. Usually we all have some kind of issues when first starting out as our bodies adjust but this is a new one. I can’t see anything in carnivore that could cause this unless maybe your blood pressure has dropped to unnatural levels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Small bison ribeye and some bison ribeye trimmings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
