I have not tried grass fed beef
Geezy replied to tatortot's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I completely agree. We were half owners of a small herd of bison several years ago. We kept our freezers full for awhile. Never got tired of it. We’ve been thinking of buying a couple to raise for slaughter again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

New guy. 77yo, carnivore for 9months. Still learning.
Geezy replied to ljimd's topic in Greetings and Introductions
Yes sir it catches up with all of us in time. That why we see more older people eating carnivore to heal all of the years of abuse. It’s done some miraculous things for me. When I started 511 days ago I was a 66 year old man who felt 86 but now I’m 68 and feel like I’m 48. I knew I’d get old someday but I thought it would take longer. Glad you could join us. Welcome. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been carnivorous you will always be learning if you wish to grow. I am now at 510 days and I study nutrition every day and learn something new just about every day. It’s a great journey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I have not tried grass fed beef
Geezy replied to tatortot's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I was just watching an interview with Dr. Shawn Baker yesterday and he was asked the question about grass finished vs grain finished and he said that yes, in analyzing the meats there is a nutritional difference but it is slight but when analyzing the people side by side who ate the different beef they could find no nutritional difference in the health of the subjects. Something I’d like to emphasize is that too many people say “grain fed” and that’s not an accurate term to use. All cattle are raised on pasture or silage. It is only the last three months or so that they may be put on a grain diet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Question about raw milk on carnivore
Geezy replied to Slambo's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I don’t drink milk but just because I don’t see the need to but I do make yogurt and ice cream. If I come across some raw milk I’d like to try making some yogurt out of it. I did no strength training when I was losing weight and I lost no muscle that I could measure or feel. I lost 60 pounds in one year. I did walk for exercise in the beginning when I was able to walk again but during the winter I stopped. I did use some resistance bands on occasion but in reality I did very little exercise but then again, exercise doesn’t provide weight loss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thoughts on coffee and vitamins?
Geezy replied to Scottk's topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
I am taking a D-3 with MK-7. 5000 IU/180 mcg. I’ll be having my biannual physical soon so I’ll be looking to see if that high a dose has been doing anything detrimental. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I started the day with a couple of “sizzle steaks”? My wife picked these up in at the store. They are very thin sliced sirloin. I just pan fried them in some bacon grease and let me tell you what, they are now my new favorite breakfast with eggs. I liked them better than I do bacon. Later on I smoked a chuck roast but forgot a picture of it but I did get a picture of the ribeyes and venison burgers I smoked. That’s the first time I tried smoking venison burgers and I thought they came out very good. Really retained some moisture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Thoughts on coffee and vitamins?
Geezy replied to Scottk's topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
The only vitamin I take is D. Everything else is bioavailable from the meat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Give it time. Your body didn’t become sick overnight and you can’t cure it overnight. Be patient and just keep eating your fat and meat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just been eating ribs and pork butt for the last couple of days. Decided to make a bacon and cheddar omelette this morning. I’ll eat again later probably. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Ribeye, and bacon
Geezy replied to tatortot's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
The cheapest way I know of is to buy the whole rib roast and cut your own. Then if you know someone in the restaurant business you could get them to buy the rib roast at their cost for you which will be cheaper still. My sister in law owns a restaurant so I can buy them from her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Food art today y’all. Slow smoked that pork butt for 10 hours. Nice tasty bark and fall off the bone tender. Tomorrow it’s time to go primal. Opening day of bow season starts and I’ll be out there going primitive. So glad it’s finally here because I’m getting really low on venison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Welcome Alan. I’m glad you could join us. All diets fail. They fail because they are something you do to loose weight and then when you’ve lost the weight you go back to eating like you did before and put it all back on and then some. As Meathead (ironically we have All In The Family on tv right now) said , this is a lifestyle and changing your lifestyle is the only thing that works. No, the bread is trash. All “keto” foods are trash. You are not eating keto you are eating carnivore. Carnivore is simple. Eat when hungry. Eat nothing but animal fats, animal protein, salt and water. When you do eat then eat until you are comfortably full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have not tried grass fed beef
Geezy replied to tatortot's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Yes there is a difference. Grain finished is going to have more marbling and as such will have a better taste. But to get down to the nutrients the grass finished is healthier. The difference in nutrition is not so much as to put yourself in a financial strain to buy the grass finished unless you have specific issues eating grain finished. The cattle and sheep that I raise for food is all grass finished but that’s my preference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So, who of you visits the forums every day?
Geezy replied to Bob's topic in Site News, Suggestions, & Support
I visit every day. I use Tapatalk because I find it easier to navigate but I keep the website pulled up on DuckDuck Go. But as you know I don’t own a computer, just my phone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Welcome Megan, you’ve got a great support group here. Having an addiction to carbs is just like any other addiction. You have to be determined to beat it. You have to be stronger than the addiction. Just like an alcoholic or drug addict you have to fight it one day at a time. Start with today. Stay clean for just today. You will feel so victorious when the day ends and you go to bed. When the new day starts then you start all over again and just get through that day. You do this every day anew and before you know it your addiction is gone. The physical addiction is easy to beat but the mental addiction is the tough one because it lasts longer than the physical. So to beat that you have to have a strong mental game. I new to adopt the mindset that you cannot fail. No matter what, you will not fail. You can do this girl and we’re here to support you any way we can. Good luck and stay strong. another new guy question/fasting
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
Yes, inches don’t always coincide with weight loss. Every stall I encountered I still lost inches. I’ve only done one fast and it was only because I just didn’t feel like eating. I’ve got to admit it felt great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Why Keto & Carnivore?
We believe that a proper, all natural human diet should be meat-based, whether that's a keto, ketovore, or carnivore lifestyle. You will thrive on most nutrient dense foods on the planet, lose weight, and possibly reverse disease and chronic illnesses, so why not give this a try?
