Saravzee got a reaction from Bob in I have not tried grass fed beefMy in-laws buy part of a cow every year and I can get some ground beef for free from them. But we usually don’t because we just don’t care for it, it’s too lean and burns really easily. There’s not a lot of flavor, not something I’d eat by itself.

Saravzee got a reaction from Bob in Restarting low carb/carnivore liteHello everyone, new to the forums but I’ve been LC/carnivore on and off for a few years. I’ve done it mostly for the simplicity that this way of eating offers, and then the reduction in bloating. But I get lazy with it and start to crave variety and inevitably return to SAD. My husband did hard core carnivore earlier this year and not only did he lose 40lbs, but his triglycerides dropped over 500 points. He was at over 700 points and high risk for pancreatitis when he switched to carnivore in January. He saw significant improvements with very low carb. But over the last couple months carby foods have crept back in and his weight is trending upwards again.
So we’re both recommitting to carnivore, he’s going back to it pretty strict while I’ll be doing a variation of it, hoping that with a few non-animal foods mixed in it will be sustainable long term. For the time being I’m still including things like mushrooms and peppers, things that I can add to meat and eggs.
Excited to refocus and get back to it 🙂

Saravzee got a reaction from Bob in Short video on artificial sweeteners.I cut out my 6 can a day Diet Coke habit a little over a month ago. I will still drink it in social situations but I’m working on completing eliminating it, as well as all artificial sweeteners. It’s hard though, it’s been such a big part of my diet for the last 12 years (when I was in my active weight loss phase and switched from regular soda to diet). I’ve added flavored sparkling water that is sweetener free and that’s helping with my cravings for something fizzy. The electrolyte packets I use have small amounts of artificial sweetener, I’m working towards the unsweetened version. Baby steps lol.
eta: I have not experienced weight gain while drinking diet soda, so the video has not been my experience. During my active weight loss phase I lost 50+lbs while drinking 4-6 cans a day. I also normalized pre-diabetic glucose numbers during this time. I’ve been maintaining the weight loss within 15lbs for 12 years now, and with 4-6 cans of Diet Coke every single day during that time, up until a month ago.
I cut it out because it’s now $8 for a 12 pack, and I realized how much of an addiction it actually was for me. Like I’d get anxiety if I was getting low and if I ran out I had to make a special trip to the store to make sure I had it. Was tired of being tethered to it so I cut it out.

Saravzee got a reaction from Bob in What Did You Eat Today? My first meal back at ketovore was 3 eggs scrambled, with ground breakfast sausage, bacon, cheddar, mushrooms and bell pepper. Cooked in butter and spices, and a splash of hot sauce. Very filling and low fuss to put together. All the ingredients came from Aldi so very reasonable cost wise as well.

Saravzee got a reaction from Bob in What's your Dr's thoughts 🤔My husband lost 40lbs and lowered his triglycerides over 500 points (that is not a typo!). His IBS symptoms disappeared as well. We decided before his last appointment with his primary care doctor that we were not going to go into detail about what he was doing, and just told her he was eating lower carb, and had cut out ultra processed foods. She kept complimenting him in his progress and told him to keep doing what he was doing, but then threw in a spiel about making sure he didn’t try keto because it was unhealthy [emoji57]
