We are on vacation in Topsail, NC. My wife has a lifelong friend that moved near hear 30+ years ago. Whenever travelling to the beach, it is the time to get together.

I will lead off with she is super smart and well versed in what seems like everything. We were talking the ocean as I was in the Navy and she is an Oceanographer. As we talked weather, she is also a Meteorologist. We are talking beach houses and not only is she a realtor, but a Contractor, as well as an Architect. You start the conversation and she is the local expert. I have joked with my wife for years that I just wish she were wrong every now and then, but like I said, 'really smart and well versed'.

As we sat down to eat I had four hamburger patties on my plate and she asked if I were not eating the twice baked potatoes. I told her I was going to pass. My wife brought up the fact that I only ate meat and ate Carnivore. She paused, she took a breath, and she was rolled off every known cholesterol fact out there. And when I added a couple stabs of butter to my plate she dove into LDL and HDL and triglycerides and the fact I would end up on statins and etc. and etc.

The spread was not a really bad way to eat. I mean as it was all whole foods and the closest thing to being processed was the sugar-cured bacon, which was chopped into bacon bits. The potatoes were locally grown at home, as were the tomatoes, and maybe the worst thing there were the buns for the hamburgers. There are worse things that can be eaten while on vacation at the beach.

She had no problems with the bread and as I tried to explain the path from hamburger bun to insulin spike to insulin resistance and insulin resistance being the biggest medical problem known.......and when I added the known links between statins and dementia/Alzheimer's she sort of slowed down. Her mom and my mother-in-law both had dementia/Alzheimer's and both were on statins for years.

She must have completed a course at Google University and most of the way thru a degree from the YouTube School of Medicine because this morning she sent my wife a list of "Carnivore Questions". She gets back tonight and on one part I am thinking she wants to learn but I have 30+ years of experience saying she already knows more than anyone after two days of 'looking into carnivore'.

Babbling on while recovering from chasing the grandkid in the pool.

Hope all is well with eveyrone.
