  1. Here's one thought on IF. Recently I was diagnosed with IBD, I was in a bad way, 16 really unpleasant, rushed visits to the smallest room. This was something I'd had on and off for many years. Anyway, I had to do something and refused the meds, so I thought I'd give my guts a rest, let them heal was my thought, seemed logical. I did a 3 day fast, that was 2 months ago, I've just had my results back from a calprotectin test (the marker for IBD) and my doctor can find zero evidence of IBD, she's in shock! my calprotectin score was 6 mg/g, she said that's about the best score she's seen in anyone. I'll be doing this 3 day fast once every month.
  2. I use one, it suits the cooking style I like for steaks. I give the steak a good sear then pop the lid on for a few minutes rest. I find it gives predictable results. And a bonus feature is the fat doesn't fly around quite so bad.
  3. I fast 1st 2nd and 3rd of every month. For me the 1st day is the hardest. We burn ketones so energy levels are no problem. I used to have stubborn 3kg I couldn't get rid of ..... but that when with fasting. I feel 3 days gives your gut a break. I feel great for it. My advice, keep the salts and water up and make that 1st meal a small one.
  4. I really love bone broth so my slow cooker gets plenty of action. I'll cook something like Shoulder of lamb without adding any extra water. Think I'd do something different with the ground beef. My current favourite is just crumble it into chunks and brown it in tallow.
  5. Yes. Loved the video too. It's very real ..... It makes a difference when you see the face and Geezy is a very real guy. Geezy if your watching this, One day I'd love to shake your hand and say 'Thanks' ....... 'your changing lives'. You ARE making a difference and I love you for it. Maybe one day I'll tell my story with DaveMac, just hope I could come across as genuine.
  6. As an IBD sufferer you know when your gut is damaged. Stools don't form properly, you get mucus and visits do get frequent. Do you have any blood? I honestly don't think Carnivore is an issue though of course it does take a while to adapt .... but you know all this. Is it possible you have IBS or IBD?
  7. Who remembers CoolHand Luke? Also, Beard Meats Food eats 24 eggs in this Video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McIgZi4_vpM
  8. I won't have Xylitol in the house because it's lethal to dogs. I do use a little stevia though
  9. Many years ago while still at school I had a weekend job in a restaurant .... I remember a customer, when asked how he'd like his steak cooked replied, 'just tear off the horns and wipe it's ass'
  10. Oh yes, go for it. Another nice method for a little different flavour is to let the anchovy melt into some hot fat then add the eggs. Only a little though.
  11. Yeah, I've eaten wild boar in France and Germany and really enjoyed that, shame we don't have any boar in the UK. We hunted them to extinction I assume.
  12. Many chidren hate veggies, I definately did..... trouble is they love sugar. My Grandparents kept a sweet shop (Candy Store) I couldn't get enough.
  13. No matter your religion I think Pigs get a bad press. I've heard them described as 'Dirty', but does that describe how WE keep them? I enjoy bacon but just occasionally it tastes too salty for me, I always take that to mean .... cut back on the salt a bit.
  14. Yeah, must admit I don't always enjoy them ... and I find the 'In Olive Oil' worrying too. I'm always thinking 'hmmmm, real olive oil?'
