  1. It is 12:15 AM. This is not fun. The CGM app allows me to shut the alarms off for up to 6 hours. 2 of the 4 average glucose reports are lower. My BGL is 64, a painful finger stick just to be sure. My CGM is at 56 and apears to be stabilizing, no need to treat at the moment. I never thought giving up Coke Zero would cause this. No one warned me of this. I have no carbohydrates in the house. Just orange flavored glucose tablets, like a sugar cube. 4 grams of carbs each. , if I need them. I envision my PCP with a worried look on their face. They thinking how risky the Ketogenic diet is. PCP thinks I should c eat a "healthy " ADA Adiet and control my BGL with insulins. And maintain an A1C between 7 snd 8 %. No, I not doing that, I keeping my toes and legs. As well as my eyessight and kidneys. Sorry to rant on. Ok back to sleep, will see if i have to reduce my next long acting Lantus insulin injection in the morning. Right now looks like another 10 % reduction.
  2. I know it looks like i am crazy. Considering my Continueos Glucose Monitor (CGM) data over the last 12 hours I think I better cit my next dose of Lantus Insulin another 10% just to be safe. My average Glucose over the last 12 hours is about 70. BTW, I split dose my Lantus every 12 hours. So I have gone from 2 injections @ 25 units to 2 injections @ 20 units per day. I have never before had to make such a change. What ever happens i will post it on this site.
  3. Ok, so been just over a month that I stopped drinking Coke Zero. Now my Blood Glucose Level (BGL) is going down like every day. It has been like 2 weeks since I have used any fast acting insulin. Now today I reduced my long acting, Lantus insulin by 10 % . is probably too early to state i did not cut that dosage deep enough, but it could be the case. I guess it is a wait and see thing. So I beeing careful to keep accurate records of my insulin usage. It will be interesting if this trend continues. I be the first to say. If this turns out to be a big thing. I will be shocked. Every BGL average reporting period is trending down. In simple language, my daily BGL is down 30 mg/dL in 30 days. Other than the consumption of about 2 liters (about) of COKE ZERO a day i made no other changes. Actual consumption was really like 1.5 liters a day, now that ii really think about it. Could be shocking.
  4. Not much choice. Having yo back down my Lantus. Llong acting insulin dose today. BGL was/is a steady 60. I feel fine. I know my body. My PCP would have a troubled worried look on their face. Talked to a man yesterday, older than my 69, he is T2DM, his A1c is 7.4, his doc says it is fine at below 8. He is 85, not acceptable to me. Imo. The doctor is wrong. I guess the medical thinking is he is old. I just glad carnivore is a choice that really helps. Be well
  5. Ty. Young fella. I trying not to get too excited. Be well
  6. My 7 day BGL average has dropped to 96 mg/dL. I did a finger stick to check my CGM, everything is in range. Not even going to think about it continuing to drop more. But stay tuned.
  7. BGL Is still going down. So right now I am not using any fast acting insulin. My long acting, Lantus insulin dose is constant. Will give it time, if it holds or drops more I will Very slowly dial back the lantus insulin. I an thinking very slow reduction in dose might be best for me, allow body to adapt.
  8. So as my 7 dsy average BGL drops to 98, I just had a utube ad by Rx scripts for introduction pricing for Ozempic. I am sure some believe this is 'the way' to health. Unfortunately, long term effects are not known. Very sad. I say no more. We all go on, marching on our journey.
  9. H E Y ! So very much Zero Carb, my 7 day Blood Glucose Level (BGL) just got down to 100 mg/dL. WOW, DID NOT see this coming, but it is real. My Continuous Glucose Monitor appears to be functioning properly. It is nice. Yes my tolerance for carbs is , yeah, Zero. May u all have joy in your journey too !
  10. Some numbers : Avg. BGL 7 Day Avg. 102 14 Day Avg. 105 30 Day Avg. 109 I just keep as close as possible to ZERO Carb as is possible. My PCP says a Ketogenic Diet is a health risk and an ongoing problem for me. The same person tells me I may not have a heart attack bit a stroke is likely. They have no evidence.
  11. Is Monday, we fit 11 inches of snow. It has a crusty top to it. Forecast h e re, Lancaster, PA is below freezing temps for 10 days out. All carnivore systems are go. I remain very ZERO carb. Hopefully, February will be not so cold. Onward to the beat of the carnivores drum. Still diet sode free. I am exercising, shoveling u know whst
  12. Just shoveled the steps. ~ 6 or 7 inches of snow, forecast says 3 more hours.
  13. The basics of the carnivore lifestyle I got. Zero carbs, One Meal a Day, D3/K2, Iodine. Very moderate exercise. I need insulin to regulate my Blood Glucose Level. I would like to reduce the insulin I need to its lowest level. Two things came to my mind. Increasing my exercise and is there something I may be missing nutritionally. So I checked out Doctors like Westman, Chaffee, Berry, and Hampton. So Dr. Tony Hampton had a list for diabetics. It was like 10 min long, 6 or 7 months old. Came with the advice of diet first. So with google utilizing Ai, i searched for: Blood sugar support containing Ceylon cinnamon, ALA, Magnesium, Chromium picolinate, NAC, Taurine, mayo inositol. Google recommended about 4 excellent products. I checked them out and purchased one. Delivery is this Thursday. A 30 day supply. I right now planning a 90 day trial. In the coming 90 days the question is was it more exercise, the supplement, or both. I ok with that. Just want the amount of insulin to decrease. Onward to finish January and continue. Challenge? Always.
  14. I lived in Hickory, NC for 30 years. I hear u !
  15. Predictions are from 6 t0 12 inches in the Lancaster, PA area
  16. A lot of people invent a lot of numbers. The bigger the influencer the bigger the exaggeration.
  17. Sorry. Poor verbal skills. I have seen no known effect from not drinking diet soda. My continued zero carb eatting seems to be reducing my need for fast acting insulin. Only possible effect on the soda is I seem not to crave it.
  18. Ty, I have a deep respect for you. As a present day carnivore, I feel like c a pioneer taming the western USA. Basically we eat meat and bet it all.
  19. Is Wednesday, journey 21 much to do today. Temperatur is 0 degrees at 4 AM in lancaster PA. Blood Glucose Level (BGL) is at 80, very nice. Carbohydrate intake is at about 0.25 grams per hou. I could not resist. So that be 6 carbs per day. Long range focast says very cold for next 2 weeks. In the next 4 days a major snow event is possible. With my n I t drinking Coke Zero the stock price us slipping. I am saving at least $ 1.50 a day on diet soda. Local family owned grocery store 85/15 beef is $ 4.50 per pound. Their ribeye is ~ 12 dollars per pound. Every day prices. Going to miss those prices when I leave this area. So u all be well, avoid any excessive carbs and fiber. U know anything over 5 grams of carbs or fiber at day is excessive, well at least for me. Preparing to do some blood work. Going to do a c-peptide to see w h a t my pancreas is doing insulin production wise. An enzyme test too, see if pancreas is being messed up. Adds on utube tell me I meed warm water and cinnamon before bed to kill the parasites that are destroying my pancreas and are the root cause of diabetes. Well that is all for now, u all be well and eat to thrive.
  20. Just to be clear, I do not, NOT... eat organs Eat sardines, eat fermented anything Dry fast Fast beyond 22 hours (usually) I think that covers it
  21. Never sure where to chime in. Anyhow, diet sida is gone. Very ZERO Carb every day. Need for fast acting insulin is less. Just like always pretty much sticking to it. Is very dam cold outside here in Lancaster, PA
