  1. I got a text from my daughter, my 11 year old grandson qualified to compete in the World Irish Dance competition in Chicago in 2026 ! He just finished a 3 day competition in Philadelphia
  2. The only TV I ever see is NFL games. On Thanksgiving Day it was football and some advertisement for a Cholesterol Drug. A 'Heart' was crying out to its owner how they needed to do more. And of course it stated how the studies showed spectacular results. Two things, the side effects where HUGE. Scared me to say no. And most l likely if u took this medication you would live 3 more days. The Cholesterol narrative is so alive and well. Currently 25% of patients say no to Statins. I thankfully am allergic to statins. I think. But not sure, this ad was foe an injection.
  3. Best BGL Thanksgiving ever. Glad I made it. I ate like 15 or 20 carbs. Now back to ZERO Carbs. I was alone so no pressure. Christmas will be a bigger challenge. I will be prepared, armed and ready. Getting new glasses in December, looking forward to that. U all be well
  4. It's not like the old days. I will not go into what the menu was years ago. For me this time it is slow cooked turkey thighs. A favorite part of the bird for me., To be followed by a carnivore pumpkin cheesecake. Topped with *whipped cream. This cheesecake gets great reviews when served. A very generous portion contains 6 whole carbs. For my thankful part, I have resolved Manny issue. My diabetes remains, I respond as a T1d now (likely now LADA) . My Blood Glucose Level is controlled rather tightly with long acting insulin and a Zero carb one meal a day diet. My future is the best it can be. I do gave bold plans for my future. Everyone have a great holiday.
  5. Ty, yes the holidays ! I prepared. Just lost a CGM sensor to a door jam. Put a new one on and called for a replacement. Holidays can be rough.
  6. Near Zero carbs a day. A phone/CGM issue, and some insulin struggles. I was going to get an A1c lab. But looking at my CGM data i feel pretty confident my A1c is ~ 6.5 and I ok with that. I just keep to Zero carbs, more exercise, and pay close attention to my insulin dosage. Give it ~ 120 days and do labs. Come then I going to get blood work to make a LADA Determination. You all enjoy Thanksgiving. I having Turkey thighs in a Carnivore Sauce. Followed by pumpkin cheesecake topped with whipped cream. I made these choices because my Blood Glucose Level is so good and I cutting back on insulin again.
  7. In my opinion you are fine. Your levels of TC and LDL are ok. Your TRI is lovely. Your HDL is increasing nicely. These last to are part of 6 important metabolic markers ! What u call a big jump to me is not so much. Just my view of it.
  8. My son, Justin, now 40, became an amputee at age 12. This year he lost like 80 pounds and logged 1,000 miles in training to run. On Saturday in Philadelphia he ran a 1/2 Marathon. An impressive ~ 2 hour finish tome. He exceeded everyone's expectations. He works making prosthetic legs and a foot manufacturer sponsors his running. He told me the Philadelphia crowd was soooo super supportive! Hopefully you can see him in photo below.
  9. Myself, healing takes time. I am on track, but getting low Blood Glucose Levels again. So this time I am dealing with the lows ( so far not severe). Just dialing down insulin more slowly. Figure it out as i go. Seems like I am always figuring it out. Meanwhile, the turkey thighs went from freezer to fridge yesterday. Crock pot is clean. The carnivore cheesecake is cut and in the freezer. Coffee is in good supply. As a note, the audio alarms on my CGM are silent for the next 6 hours. Currently at 54 on cgm. Finger stick says 60. I feel fine.
  10. Some times I feel alone in the world, or is it i feel alone in the Carnivore world. If it was not for a solid why I wold likely go off a deep end. U all be well
  11. U saw the title and thought: Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. American Pie rolls through your head. In the human diet I go with Westman, Kay, and Chaffee. On their tails I nod to Berry, Halberg, and Semi Retired Bob. Just saying. These individuals have shaped my life style. Do not forget there not much science to nutrition. We experiment on ourselves, n = 1. I in particular borrow bits from here and there an make it for me. Hence I am extremely low carb a very high % of the time. Be well
  12. I was having issues with my Libre Plus CGM. The manufacturer guided me through an extensive trouble shoot. A phones issue, a few days ago the phone software update was unsuccessful. Fixed it. Then was told to uninstall my Libre App. I choose the wrong sequence of steps to do so. My Blood Glucose Monitor data is now in two separate files that can not be put back together i am told. At any rate, the CGMis functioning better. So I going to order some labs, 90 days from the last. A1c, CMP, and a Lipid panel. Going forward i will track with labs as a base.
  13. Abbott Laboratories, the maker the Liber 2+ and 3+ CGM devices is having its problems. Blood glucose readings are too often well off the mark. Results must be viewed cautiously. So my daily tracking tool is not fully reliable. To wgat degree i am not sure. The company is telling everyone they are working hard on it, I am sure they are. I plan to just focus on ZERO carbs and do an A1c very soon. And depending on how things are fixed, do A1c testing as needed.
  14. My eating window is usually less than 4 hours, onec a day. Mostly BBBE. I use the Liber 2 Plus CGM. Currently my BGL target is 70 to 150 mg/dL. I seek a zero carb intake. I am most likely a Type 1.5 (LADA) Diabetic. Diabetes for 30 plus years. I currently inject a long acting insulin called Lantus. I track A1c, HDL, Triglycerides, blood pressure, waist to height, and my weight. I usually do lab work quarterly. Exercise is moderate. I supplement with D3/K2, Iodine and CoQ10. My future plan is yo increase exercise and reduce my insulin dose and keep my BGL in range (70-150). Eventually tightening the ranges upper limit to 130.
  15. Day 5 done, ZERO carbs, ZERO fast acting insulin, used 40 units of Lantus, a long acting insulin. Will likely, or i would like/hope to be at this level for up to 7 days. My Libre app has an A1c predictor, called Gmi, Glucose Management Indicator. For 90 days mine reports 6.1 % . I will do an A1c soon to see how well it compares.
  16. Interesting, I take a D3/K2 supplement. I need a current D-25 test to see where I am at.
  17. I was a little concerned my streak was coming to a halt. I adjusted my Long Acting insulin and did some exercise. All is well, day 4 is fine. Praise to my lifestyle.
  18. A chocolate, a pumpkin, and a plain/lemon. All baked, chilled, and portion into containers and in the freezer. 1.5 pounds of Philadelphia cream cheese in each one ! They are very carnivore. This will get me to the new year with very few carbs. I might try a batch or two of a low carb cookie recipe. My thanksgiving is home alone. As the grand kids will be on the road in Irish Dance Competitions. I bought two good size packages of turkey thighs for the crock pot.
  19. Amen, yes indeed. Day 4 is in the bag. Just adjusting the long acting insulin. U b well
  20. Maybe, perhaps. I would not bet against me. If you do bet against me you may never have a lucky day. As will sonnet said no brag, just facts
  21. A full day 3 done, ZERO carbs,ZERO fast acting insulins, and had to cut long acting insulin by 30% i know some Primary Care Physicians would be outraged. They do not want a 69 year old diabetic having a BGL of 70 walking around. Many Physicians label me as a non compliant patient. Ok, I get it. So I reject vaccinations, i self diagnose , I self medicated. The doctors seem saddened I am allergic to statins. Thank you God for that allergy. Here is to a day 4 band hopefully beyond of thr same. U b well.
  22. My Libre 2 Plus sensor expired, I applied a new one and after a 1 hour warmup a BGL is reported every minute. Numbers look real and I confirmed so with a finger stick. For the moment it looks good. The bonus is I also marking my second 24 hour period in a row of needing No fast acting insulin. I also cut my daily dose of long acting insulin by four units. My recent record is 3 days without using short acting insulin. Her is to going for 4 days in a row !
