  1. Maybe, perhaps. I would not bet against me. If you do bet against me you may never have a lucky day. As will sonnet said no brag, just facts
  2. A full day 3 done, ZERO carbs,ZERO fast acting insulins, and had to cut long acting insulin by 30% i know some Primary Care Physicians would be outraged. They do not want a 69 year old diabetic having a BGL of 70 walking around. Many Physicians label me as a non compliant patient. Ok, I get it. So I reject vaccinations, i self diagnose , I self medicated. The doctors seem saddened I am allergic to statins. Thank you God for that allergy. Here is to a day 4 band hopefully beyond of thr same. U b well.
  3. My Libre 2 Plus sensor expired, I applied a new one and after a 1 hour warmup a BGL is reported every minute. Numbers look real and I confirmed so with a finger stick. For the moment it looks good. The bonus is I also marking my second 24 hour period in a row of needing No fast acting insulin. I also cut my daily dose of long acting insulin by four units. My recent record is 3 days without using short acting insulin. Her is to going for 4 days in a row !
  4. I am talking to my phone app for my Libre 2 Plus CGM. The low blood glucose alarm is silenced (I turned it's piercing ring off), it still vibrates every 5 minutes. I tell the app not to worry, I am fine. It's vibrating warning continues. I had to cut back my Long Acting Lantus Insulin today. Would be nice if I really did not need the Fast Acting Insulin any more. I think that with cautioned hope. In the near future I plan to have the Endocrinologist order the needed blood labs to see if i am LADA. Be nice to know. Endocrinologist thinks most likely I am based on my need/response to injected insulin. I be happy to not ever need fast acting insulin again and just be on a low daily dose of long acting insulin. I have read of T1D on carnivore doing that. I have not completely dismissed the idea of the Carnivore Diet 'fixing ' my pancreas to a range where I not need to inject any insulin. I see the headlines now, Hardcover carbohydrate addict and T2DM for well over 30 years has fantastic blood glucose control on BBBE ! I can still dream. U all be well
  5. A day in range, that 61 was a 70 on a finger stick. This from my Libre CGM. No fast acting insulin today, just long acting insulin. Onward Carnivore lifestyle.
  6. On September 30th, the old 2 and 3 CGM sensors were discontinued. Replaced by the 2 Plus and 3 Plus sensors. If you or a loved one uses these sensors this will be informative. There is a problem with both. These sensors last 15 days now. And there is a new phone app. The app is called Libre, ot Libre by abbott. I use c the 2 plus most Insurance plans prefer the Liber over Dexcom for cost considerations. Enough background. The Libre sensors read your Blood Glucose Level (BGL) every minute and via blue tooth send it to your app on your phone. The sensor is worn on the back of either upper arm. Once on your arm it takes 1 hour to "warm up" before sending readings. Readings can be somewhat erratic for up to 48 hours. The sane was true for the older 2 & 3 models. But, now it continues for the sensor life of 15 days. For me my readings look 'normal' for 3 to 5 hours then I am doing nicely at 110 in 3 to 5 minutes I am at 52 , then 6 to 8 minutes later I am 154. 5 to 10 minutes later I back steady at 110. Nothing a diabetic wants to see or deal with. So I have confirmed the 110 reading with a finger stick. Abbott, the company making the Libre is aware of this issue. They say there are 2 teams working on the issue. I wish them success ASAP. I deal with this with a few finger sticks. And never make a hasty decision about my treatment,,, like what ineed to eat, insulin type and how much. My old Libre 2 sensors that i uesd for a few years were pretty reliable. In fact the 90 day BGL report was a good prediction of my A1c. Be well, pray for Abbott.
  7. Ok, carnivore has fixed a lot of things for me. Only one thing left. The diabetes. Is no fun at all. I eat virtually Zero carbs a day and I like a Type one Diabetic. I need insulin to stay between 70 to 140 mg/dL my CGM reports i maintain that 85% of the time. The other 15 % is like between 141 and 160. I imagine as time goes on i will grow more steady. I the near future i will ask my doc to test my C-peptide again to see how much insulin my pancreas is making. Also test for the enzyme to see if it am now LADA.
  8. My fasting is one m meal a day, I have tried linger but did not see any result from it. Fasting helps certain things under certain conditions, is not imo a cure all solution. Just like hiw carnivore does not not fix or make everything better.
  9. I eat one meal a day, no snacking. I consume no real carbs. Any craving i put to rest with a cup of coffee. I not interested in an substitute for carbs. I have learned to avoid.
  10. I cannot tolerate any carbs
  11. Perhaps this is "no one knows my struggle". Difficult to put into words. My carnivore lifestyle is every changing. Just like my body. Changing. Adapting, and adjusting. I am thinking i am more LADA. It not really matter, my treatment is the same. My CGM watches my BGL (Blood Glucose Level). I draw conclusions from various reports the CGM app has available. Make decisions as to insulin dosage. Insulin type and timing. Deciding on supplements. One thing I do not do is the insulin/carb balancing game. At a nearly zero carb intake carnivore, so no carbs means less insulin to inject. Be erll all.
  12. Very serious carnivore lifestyle here. Most likely becoming a LADA Diabetic. Despite eating no carbs (5-10 grams of carbs a day), Things u can not really measure. Having to start a small amount of Novolog, a fast acting insulin. My body behaving like a Type 1 Diabetic. My target BGL is 70 to 150 right now. I am currently in that range 75% of the time. That percentage goes up each day, slowly. I have have fewer health concerns now, than any time in several years. I expect to enter 2026 in the spirit of renewal. More on 2026 plans later. It is not without struggle. My addiction to carbohydrates is very deep. The thoughts and cravings never let up. The memories of pain, suffering and a painful death keep me carb free. You all be well
  13. Hello Eve, sounds like a plan. I am 69, been diabetic for over 30 years. I very much (95%) BBBE. I am likely LADA. SO Virtually carb free. I filly understand the struggle. The best to you Paul
  14. I would go on amazon.com and get 'Common Sense Labs ', a book by ken berry. I do not use any OTC Tests kits, most are expensive compared to: Go online to Own Your Labs (OYL) and oeder the Labs you want. And pay. Go to Lab Corp, make an account, your name must match your OML ACCOUNT. OYL will send u an email, print it and take it to a lab corp for your blood draw, they will email u the results. You can not do this in the states of NY, NJ, RI, AND TWO other states, I forget which. I know A1c and lipid panel are 8 dollars each. I would recommend A1c, lipid panel, fasting insulin, and a Cmp.
  15. God blessed me in mt allergy to Statins !
  16. Well, IMHO, not super bad. In part it depends where u at on your journey. If you earlybin your journey you got numbers to compare to next blood work. If u can eat close to zero carb. Retest b in 3 to 4 months.
  17. HDL 87, TRi 59, LDL 161, TOT 260 Are from 2 months ago, Triglyceride abd HDL are very nice. I not worried about LDL. Some go up. Some down, some no change. I am allergic to ststins, so no dr discussion. Not sure what change is 'sky rocket'
  18. My hunger ebs and flows. A few weeks eating more a few weeks eating less, I never force it. Be well
  19. Just about 3 weeks will visit my PCP. Mostly to maintain my records ad keep up my insulin and CGM prescriptions. I go not know if any blood work will be done or ordered. My PCP and I coexist. They write about me in their notes. He refused flue shot and all recommended vaccines. Patient is non compliant. Patients Ketogenic Diet remain a health risk. The patient insists on a 'normal' A1c of 5.6 or less. Patient was advised that for his age his A1c should be more like 7. All my metabolic traits are good to excellent. Routing blood work is all very good. The doctor is always intrigued mt kidney function is so darn good. I get the feeling my doctor is disappointed in not finding some issue. I allergic to statins so no help for my over 100 LDL. All my heart tests come back with wonderful good results. And I am took it at risk for a stroke. I hope never happens, just to show them, lol U all be well
  20. My usual diet is best described as BBBE (Beef, Butter, Bacon, and Eggs). My eating takes place in a 1 to 2 hour window. I eat about 12 to 20 ounces of beef and 4 to 6 eggs each day. I consume 1 pound of bacon a week. Most of my meat is 85/15 ground beef or chuck eye steak marked down for quick sale (currently @ 6 dollars a pound. With the mark down).. I drink black coffee whenever I want to. I get thru the holidays eating as above. If I visit others I tote the necessary food with me. I have a severe addiction to carbohydrates. I battle it with coffee when triggered. In November I buy 9 packages of 8 ounce Philadelphia Cream Cheese and make 3 cheesecakes. One pumpkin, one chocolate, one plain/vanilla/touch of lemon. I freeze portions in my portion size containers. If I travel some go with me. They make my holidays ! They are extremely low carb and have no crust. At any time of the year, I may resort to a Cheese Cake or Carnivore Custard. My birthday is usually a chocolate cheesecake. However, a key lime one is on my mind. My food budget runs about 50 -60 $ a week, 250 dollars a month maximum for now. Be well
