Pot roast is so much better in cast iron Dutch oven. I have followed the same recipe in both the slow cooker and instant pot and they don't come close to the cast iron!

My first time cooking in my cast iron pan I burnt everthing. It holds way more head than my teflon pans. I have to cook steak on 9+ or HIGH in my teflon pans, but can dial it back to only a 4 or 5 in my cast iron pan.

    Score!
I'll always go for the bargain clearance deal unless it's already starting to not look visually appealing, or I know I won't eat it right away.

We always try and find any clearance meat deals and either cook it up right away or freeze it. Never had an issue. Sometimes we can get up to 60% off @ Wally World, And YES, There is nothing wrong with meat from Walmart, other than their high original pricing, because That is not a bargain in our area.
Our best find ever was an 11 1/2 pound brisket for $6.63 total. That's what they tagged it at, so we bought it and it was one of the best tasting briskets ever. Now i always check all the briskets looking for another "once in a lifetime" find 🤣

We went for a food run this morning to our local store. I found quite a few packs of clearance round steak Which Is marinating right now for jerky tomorrow. 3 lbs. ground beef chubs were BOGO for half off, so I'm turning that into dog food for our Gemma. She also gets Hard boiled eggs, peas, carrots and sweet potato. I add calcium powder to her food also. grabbed a few rump roasts also for the freezer. ALL that meat and it is still cheaper than a SAD diet!

I'd love to have a dark mode for this site since it is so dominated by white and hurts my retinas at night.

For the time being, I have removed the ability for guests to reply to topics in the Articles & Resources forum. This is where the majority of the spam was. I also blocked the IP address because I noticed it was usually the same one every time.

We will be making changes to the one feature of the Carnivore Talk Community that allows unregistered Guests to post in specific forums. The reason for this is that we are tired of the SPAM. @Geezy and I delete a dozen or more posts per day that look like this...

When you take a look at the Guest forum and sort the posts by Start Date, you can clearly see how underutilized this forum actually is. MOST of our activity comes from members who have registered accounts. We have only had 22 topics/questions from unregistered guests since our community's inception in August of 2023, with only 15 of those being within the last 12 months.
If you want to participate in this community, you can register for an account. It's completely free, and we don't sell or give away your information. We're just a band of brothers and sisters, a tribe of fellow supporters who are interested in diet, nutrition, and health, and not some mega corporation.
If you just want to ask a single question, but do not want to interact, participate, or respond to others, you can leave a voicemail. A transcription of your voicemail will be posted for others to read and respond to, and/or your voicemail may be used and answered in a YouTube video.

Yeah I know but it doesn’t alway show every thread. It usually only shows me 4 or 5 threads But when I go over to TT there’s might be more.
It may have something to do with me using a phone instead of a laptop.

I'm more of a content guy so the platform or display seldom resonates with me.
That is no discredit to the time and effort you put into the upgrade or the change. I had this very conversation with our code/programming guys as we automate our 'older' production plant. "This is what I need it to do but what color or font or graphics you use does not mean that much to me".
However, I did learn and have a new understanding for what a 'busy and too busy' screen looks like.
Whatever you need to do is way above my head but as long as I get the benefit of having access to the knowledge and experience floating around in here, I'm good.
    Thanks for providing that.

My screen went into "Dark Mode" which is perfect. Not sure if that was the reason but I love it. Dark mode is easier on the old eyes.

And boatload of vitamin D also. That vitamin D is formed from cholesterol and sun exposure.
