  1. My cousin who eats a SAD told me tonight "Man, that's a lot of protein!" 😁 Told him I was eating a 6 egg omelet and a pound of bacon and to keep the vegans happy, I was including a small cucumber. Omelet had extra butter, Not Margarine. lol I know he eats margarine. What his wife buys. I have talked with them in the past about the benefits of eating mostly meat. I think it fell on deaf ears.
  2. May depend on what clinic you go to.🙄 According to her, they told her she would have this a very long time. Maybe forever. Power of suggestion does wonders. And the desire to keep folks as patients. Dr Berry says it will last about a year. About everyone I have met that comes in the store say they have had it for years. And are now on a list to be treated by this Kansas Doctor. Maybe the tides will turn. Myself, I'm still not sure I fully buy into it. Probably just the conspiracy side of me. 😎 But if it's real and I do get it, I'll be armed with information to combat it.
  3. Two chuck steaks. If I ate it caveman style, I'd havta borrow your teeth. 😁
  4. Last night I had 3 grilled pork steaks. Then woke up about 2:30 hungry and had a half pound burger with three scrambled eggs. Probably won't eat again till tonight.
  5. I'd never heard of it either and had to look it up.
  6. Awesome! I've read about it having 90-95% success rates but never heard from anyone that had it. So, that's good to hear.
  7. I part time at a small mom-pop grocery store. And the Mom part of the store got diagnosed with Alpha-gal about three years back. Odd, because she seldom sets foot on any grass. Still, that's what the clinic told her she had. She heard tell of some doctor in Kansas that got amazing results in treating it and she made an appointment. So she went. She got home and said she had to quarantine herself for 24 hours, then she could try a meat. She said she had a pork steak and ohhhh it was so good. Then the next night her husband made beef liver and onions. And that went without any drawbacks. She told me today she had a cheeseburger the other evening and it was soo good. It was like having a Gourmet meal. I'm happy for her and she's in a lot better spirits now. So what they do to her? Well, it's still not clear to me. But The Doctor she saw was an MD/DO. So I'm guessing the DO in his name played a big part. She said he did some muscle testing and poked around with a clicker thing. She was on her stomach. I'm guessing it was kinda the same thing my chiropractor uses sometimes. There wasn't any acupuncture involved. As with one of the other Alpha-gal treatments called SAAT. (Look it up) I'm gonna take a guess there was some Kinesiology involved. I just learned that word from researching Alternative alpha-gal treatments. She doesn't really know what all he did. Just that it has worked so far. I think she's told every other alpha-gal person in the area and I think they're all making appointments. So if you have or get alpha-gal, know that there is alternative treatments for it.
  8. I believe you are right. Back in the late 80's - mid 90's I worked at a small local hospital/er/amb. There were very few that I came to have any respect for. I saw alot of things go on. Do your own research. I am not a very obedient patient. 😉
  9. There is a camel dairy in SW Missouri.
  10. Hahaha 😄 How to get a good deal? I took the butcher shop owner fishing Sat. 😁
  11. I've definitely lost my ability to eat temps that I used to. I still like them, but they don't like me.
  12. Sounds like it would have been a good time to have Carni Ice Cream for dessert. 🫠
  13. Fishing is my therapy. I just like to be by or on the water in my kayak. If I happen to catch something for dinner, then It's a bonus. Sometimes it won't even make it to the house, as I carry a frying pan in the truck.
  14. Here, if you own a certain amount of acres, you get a certain amount of tags for deer and turkey. Both archery and gun. I have, said certain amount of land. But the last few years, I let one or two fellas hunt and get a share of the rewards. I like when the amish friend gets two deer cuz he brings me one all cut up and all I havta do is package it. The only thing I don't have is fish and it's not too far away. About five or so miles in two directions is a reservoir. So no, I don't spend much for fish and game. I am pretty cheap. I usedta say it cost me about $3.80 to go fishing. That was for a gallon of gas and an RC cola. I spect it's still about the same. A gallon of gas and a jug of water. 😀
  15. Aldi lets me try cuts we don't have locally. The little store I part time at still has $3.49 lb bacon. And their burger just went up to $4.50. I got a bone in ham yesterday for $1.49 lb. I don't usually need to go anywhere else.
  16. I had my first ever pound of Wagu burger. Aldi's brand. Was cheaper than the regular burger at the butcher shop. Wasn't bad, but I dunno if I'll do it again any time soon. Wasn't that special. I like when they have their specials on 70/30 in a five pound tube.
  17. I've ate hamburger raw back when I was young and had all my chompers. Seems like I ate a rabbit that didn't rotisserie quite long enough. And raw eggs were common. But then we drank out of the creek. I probably wouldn't do that now without filtering. I spect we all ate raw meat back before Mr. Zippo invented fire.
  18. They look like hush puppies. However a lot of them "powders" are not readily available around here. Me personally, will probably just experiment with fish balls and call it good. 😀
  19. I never was much on hush puppies. Everyone had them at fish-frys. I just liked the fish and slaw. But thinking modified fish balls. Maybe shredded or pounded fish with garlic, finely chopped onions, whatever spices you want, Thickened with pork panko, then dipped in egg and maybe more panko, then fried in tallow or bacon grease.
  20. I had a six egg pizza at work. Work mate fixed herself some sausage patties and something? And left me the grease which I added butter to. Then added pepperoni and Colby jack cheese. Then stuffed more butter in random places when it was done. Pretty well filled me for the day.
  21. Dill pickles are good for grease splatter burns. I keep a jar in my kitchen for first aid. 😀 Mustard works good too. I know people that love dill pickle anything. I am not one of those people. 🙂 I do share your likeness for blue cheese tho. 😃
  22. I've been cooking for most of my life as well. Twenty years of it, I actually got paid for it. At home since it's just me, I like one pot meals. And sometimes even eat out of the pot. I read or watch tons of recipes, then condense them to suit my liking. As a great cook once said; A recipe is but a road map. Shows you where you are and where you want to go, but it's up to you to choose the scenic route or the shortcut, as long as you get there.
  23. I probably would have never tried it if not for a neighbor getting a beef butchered. Lots of bone broth jello left over. Mmm. I also can score organ meats this way. Probably a rural thing, like being in the right place at the right time.
