  1. I just went to the Dr and had my blood work done. Many numbers were good including glucose which was way down. Triglycerides were also much better. HDL was better but LDL and overall cholesterol was way up. Any advice to get these numbers down? I have seen many benefits since starting. I've lost almost 90 pounds. My BP is now down and under control. Sleep apnea is MUCH better. Ankle swelling is much better, almost nonexistent. I have more energy and my head is clearer. Having more energy now, I want to. Start working out again, mostly cardio. I figure this cardio may help get my cholesterol down.
  2. Dr Berry is in Middle TN, Not too far from Nashville but I didn't think he still practices medicine. If I knew how to reach out to him, I'd ask.
  3. Thanks for that input, Curt. I do drink plenty of black coffee in the morning.
  4. Hello. I've been on Carnivore almost 7 months and have been OMAD (supper in the evening only) for the last 2 months. I'm seeing great success in weight loss and other areas like sleep apnea and blood pressure. I want to start working out again. Mainly cardio at first and quickly adding some light strength training, nothing crazy. For those of you doing OMAD and working out, what's the best time for that workout? For me, I basically have two choices, early before work about 5:30 - 6:30am or after work about 4-5pm. Early actually works better for me because it doesn't take away from my evening family time but I'd like to hear any success or failures you guys have had in this area. I know my experience will likely be different than y'all's and I'll have to just try it but I still want to hear what worked and what didn't in your case.
  5. I am looking for a new primary physician and have been on carnivore over 6 months. Does anyone know a carnivore friendly doctor in the Nashville, Tennessee area? I heard about one in Kingston Springs (my hometown) but I can't find out who they were talking about.
  6. Not completely hooked on numbers but it's very encouraging to see them go down especially when I started so heavy. My clothes are falling off of me, even the stuff that was too tight to wear when I started. My sleep apnea has improved to better than it was when I was diagnosed with it ten years ago. I feel so much better too. When hiking through the woods while hunting or walking my job sites at work, I get around so much easier. I'm happy to get out there and have something to do now.
  7. I started it for the weight loss but it has improved my sleep apnea and cleared up my brain fog.
  8. That's great progress. I'm about 5.5 months in and down 66
  9. Well I'm hooked on OMAD. Gotta recap a little. Sept 15th I hit 315. Next three weeks, I hoovered up and down, never reaching 310. Last Saturday was my first day of OMAD. Worked on hanging tree stand and clearing shooting lanes in the woods half of the day. Got home that afternoon and weighed 309. Kept doing OMAD. Sunday weighed 308 Monday, 307. Today I weighed 305 first thing in the morning and just now, 304. I won't expect it to keep that pace but wow. What a way to sell me on eating one meal a day. Not as hungry as I expected either.
  10. I've been on the carnivore diet 5 months and have lost about 57 pounds. Started at 370 and weighed 313 this morning. For more than half of this diet, I've only eaten lunch and dinner, no breakfast. I'm thinking of going to OMAD. From you guy's experience, what one meal is it best to eat if you're only eating one per day? I can see pros and cons to each. If it's only breakfast I eat, I won't be having a meal with the family, and I'll create a hassle trying to cook while two kids and my wife are all trying to get ready for the day. I guess a pro could be that I can run all day on that meal and the time at which I'd be most likely to be hungry is when I'm asleep. But if that caused sleep problems, it wouldn't be worth it. If it's only lunch I eat, I'll be at work and having anything decent there would be a chore. If it's only dinner I eat, I'll be sleeping with all that food on me and most likely be super hungry at work. What have you guys experienced?
  11. I agree. I am super stoked that this is so easy and working well. Can't wait to see my cardiologist next March and step on his scale. I'm sure I'll hit more plateaus but I just need to keep taking my vitamin P.
  12. Well, as it turns out, I was just being impatient I guess. When I wrote this, I was at 42 lbs lost and it seemed I was hovering around that for 2-3 weeks. Since I wrote this though, I've started losing again. 50 lbs down now! Started in late April at 370, now 320.
  13. Well, maybe I shouldn't call it a stall just yet. I got on the scale this morning and I'm down 45. I know it's a slow weight loss. I guess it was just a little slower for the last 2-3 weeks. I'm determined though. Gonna keep at this.
  14. I do drink electrolytes, "Micro Ingredients". One serving in a quart of water in the morning and another at night. I don't eat any dairy except a small amount of real cheddar cheese. I don't exercise much either.
  15. I started carnivore about 17 weeks ago after watching my friend do very well on it and my chiropractor recommended it to me. I started at 370lbs. I'm 49 years old (man) and I've been overweight my whole life but never as heavy as the last couple years. I've lost 42 lbs in the last 17 weeks. I feel better. I have more energy most of the time, less back aches and my sleep apnea has improved. I hit a plateau at 20 lbs lost. I decided I was eating too many calories per day, so I cut out breakfast. I started eating a decent lunch and a good dinner and started losing again. I've now hit another plateau at 42lbs lost but I haven't changed anything. I do get hungry sometimes mid-morning. Do y'all think I need to add a small breakfast back in? The breakfast I cut out was too much to start with like a 3-egg omelet with bacon and cheese, lol. Good but too much. I should add, my wife and son are on it and have both lost about 30lbs. They started a little later than I did.
