Vegan fake meats are linked to increase in heart deaths
Doesn’t surprise me a bit. Any time we get away from what is natural and species specific we put ourselves in danger. A very truthful statement in there was this. “I don't agree with the premise that just because something is "plant-based", it is automatically healthy.” In fact I’d take it a step further and say it’s all unhealthy except for my steaks. They couldn’t be made without plants. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best Type of Salt
Ok, that’s fine if you can handle it. I’m not the moderation type. I have to abstain from things like sugars and even artificial sweeteners. My wife is a moderation type but I just don’t have that kind of discipline. Franks hot sauce isn’t too bad in my opinion as long as you don’t have a sensitivity to the peppers and spices. It’s one of the few that are clean in my opinion because it doesn’t have any sugars or soy. I use it myself on occasion. I’m with you on the chicken. I used to love chicken until I became carnivore but it turned out that what I liked was fried chicken. It was the breading I was after not the meat. I still will eat some roast chicken now and again but when I do I have to drown it in butter to make it palatable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best Type of Salt
Yes smoked salt is a thing…a very good thing. I always try to dry brine my meats at least overnight before cooking. I have found that the longer I’m eating carnivore the less I desire seasoning other than salt. Be careful about using commercial seasonings. Read their labels carefully to understand what you are eating. Most of them that I’ve looked at, including the ones in my cupboard had sugar or some derivatives of sugar and some had soy products and chemicals that I couldn’t pronounce. So it all just depends on how strict you want to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can you recommend a good carnivore book?
Who needs a book. I can tell you all you need to know. [emoji16] Just kidding. I didn’t learn to do carnivore from a book but from watching a lot of videos about it and from reading a lot of articles about it like this one. The Various Types of Carnivore Diets. (Article from Carnivore Talk) The carnivore diet is as easy as just eating meat, right? This is basically true. But if you follow some famous carnivore proponents on socail media or YouTube you may get confused. Some carnivores might be seen eating cheese or using heavy cream, and others may be caught using some herbs and spices on their food. I've spotted one drinking a diet soda, and then others boast about eating fruit and honey. So, like, what gives? What Is the Carnivore Diet? A carnivore diet is a lifestyle that consists of eating mainly animal products, such as meat, fish, and eggs. Traditionally, this diet eliminates all plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. The thinking behind a carnivore diet is that humans evolved to eat meat and that our bodies are better adapted to digest and absorb nutrients from animal products, and that plants contain toxic self-defense chemicals that over time can harm your health, possibly being the root cause of many auto-immune disorders and chronic diseases. Different Types of Carnivore Diets The Lion Diet (Elimination Diet) - This diet consists of unprocessed ruminant flesh, usually beef, but could also include lamb, elk, etc, with salt, and only water. This is usually a zero carb carnivore diet. Many peple eat this way because they get inflammation and other physical symptoms when they eat other food. This is also a perfect way to start an elimination diet, starting with 30-90 days of Lion Diet and then slowly reintroduce foods one at a time to see how you react to them. The Standard Carnivore Diet - This is the most dogmatic and strict form of the carnivore diet, which involves consuming only water, salt, and meat, whether ruminants, poultry, pork, or seafood, including eggs and fish roe. No dairy, no seasonings, no supplements, and no plant foods are allowed. This diet is based on the premise that humans are designed to eat only animal foods, and that plant foods are harmful or unnecessary for optimal health The Nose-to-Tail Carnivore Diet - This is a more nutrient-dense version of the carnivore diet which includes any animal flesh, as well as organ meats such as liver, kidney, heart, and brain. Organ meats are rich sources of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and co-factors that are essential for various bodily functions and may prevent deficiencies that may arise from eating only muscle meats. This may often mean zero carb depending on the type of seafood and the amount of eggs. This is also sometimes called ancestral carnivore or restrictive Paleo. Any Animal Products Carnivore Diet - This slightly more flexible version of the carnivore diet includes all animal flesh and any animal byproducts that can be produced by the animal kingdom. This would include dairy products such as milk, yogurt, heavy cream, cheese, butter & ghee, as well as things like bacon, sausage, pork rinds, and deli meat. This is also sometimes called Zero Carb Carnivore by those who still avoid milk sugars and certain seafoods. Animal-based "Carnivore" Diet - Primarily animal sourced products but also allows participants to partake in some carbs found in nature, including some occasional bee honey and some fruitage that can be eaten based on seasonal availability. It's basically a mix of carnivore and Paleo. Animal-based dieters are still focused on animal consumption and avoiding plants (except their fruitage) and plant toxins with little to no regard for carbohydrate consumption. Dogmatic carnivore purists will argue that this is not "true" carnivore. Carnivorish/Ketovore Diet - This Meat-based Keto lifestyle still focuses primarily on animal products but does allow for some plant-based oils like coconut oil, olive oil, and avocado oil (the good kinds) along with the inclusion of some low carb vegetables, with the aim of limiting carb consumption to 10g (ketovore) or 20g (keto) per day. This version permits the use of some spices and herbs to enhance the flavor and variety of the meals as well. Dogmatic carnivore zealots will argue that this is not "true" carnivore. Which Carnivore or "Carnivorish" Diet is Right for Me? Rather than be dogmatic, all of the above can fall under the umbrella of what Dr. Ken Berry M.D. refers to as "The Proper Human Diet". A proper human diet is one that is all natural, uninflammatory, minimally processed, and low in carbohydrates (meaning about 100g or less per day). The key to optimizing your health is to find out where on the spectrum you fit in the best. For some this may mean being absolutely strict about being a pure carnivore and avoiding plants and fruitage altogether. For others this may mean low carb, non-starchy vegetables that have a minimal impact on insulin and glucose levels are fine. Still others may choose to eat fermented or pickled vegetables and some may enjoy some fruit, but only seasonally or sporadically. The amount and frequency with which one consumes fruit and vegetables on the carnivore or animal-based diet may vary depending on the individual’s goals, preferences, and tolerance. The key is to listen to your body and adjust accordingly. If you notice any negative effects from eating vegetables, such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, or cravings, you may want to reduce or eliminate them from your diet. So where on the spectrum are you? What kind of carnivore dieter do you tend to be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

electrolytes for a beginner
That’s excellent Scott. Many people don’t start experiencing that “keto hunger” until they’ve been eating this way for awhile. Keto hunger is that hunger that you barely even notice. It’s an empty belly but easy to ignore. Then when you finally eat, all you want is that fat and protein and it tastes so good. Like tomorrow, I’ll be going striper fishing and all I’ll have is my one cup of bulletproof tea in the morning and I probably won’t eat until the end of the day. I just won’t get hungry and I’ll have energy all day. I love that feeling. It’s also what allows me to look at bad foods with no desire to eat them when everyone else is eating that junk. It all might as well be a pile of manure in my eyes. On your bloodwork, be prepared for some wacky numbers. Your body is going through a transition period so your numbers may not fall into any of the percentage ranges for your area. It is usually recommended that we shouldn’t get any blood tests until we’ve been carnivore for at least six months. So just be prepared for that. If you doctor starts to freak out just let him know you’ve got it under control through diet and nutrition and it’ll work itself out in a few months or so. Don’t let him talk you into a bunch of worthless pills. But when you do get your results post them up here so we can see what they are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We are glad you joined us and glad you got started with this WOE (Way Of Eating). Will Rodgers once said, “There’s three kinds of people in this world, those who learn from watching, those who learn from reading and then there’s always that one fellow that’s just got to pee on that electric fence to find out for himself. Me? I’m the one who reads. I did my research before I jumped in. I’m also the guy who read the manual when I buy a new car. I think I know which one you are [emoji1787]. Seriously though. You’ve chosen the proper way to eat for optimal health. Bare in mind that this isn’t a diet in the conventional sense of weight loss. It’s a healing diet that is a committed lifestyle. This is all about healing your metabolism and a wonderful part of that healing process is weight loss. Anytime you got questions we will do our best to help answer them. Best Type of Salt
I prefer Redmonds because it’s mined here in America rather than Tibet. I also really like Maldon’s flaked sea salt especially for topping on steaks, both the regular and the smoked. Then my special one I like for cooking is my truffle salt. It’s a sea salt with dried bites of truffles. Decadent. Stay away for table salt. Not because it’s just sodium, we need sodium, but because it has additives in it such as sugar. Yep, that’s right. Table salt has sugar in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bezos Earth Fund Invests $60 Million In Centers To Improve Alternative Meats [emoji35]
Bezos Earth Fund Invests $6o Million In Centers To Improve Alternative Meats Another “philanthropist” billionaire investing millions of dollars to “fight climate change” [emoji849] Apparently, in March, Jeff Bezos pumped $60 MILLION into fake meat research. More specifically, “sustainable protein” or lab-grown meats. Bezos Earth Fund Vice Chairman Lauren Sánchez said, “We need to invent our way out of climate change” Here’s what I think… THIS IS A TRAVESTY WAITING TO HAPPEN. We cannot invent our way out of climate change. This modern-day hubris thinking we can play God and create “Frankenmeats” is only going to make things worse and come with repercussions for our health and the health of the planet. Simply put, the further away we move from nature, the more problems we get. Hippocrates once said, “Illnesses do not come upon us out of the blue. They are developed from small daily sins against Nature.” Smart guy because if we look at recent history, this notion holds true. Post-war agricultural innovations like synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and GMOs felt like a utopian breakthrough at the time that would solve the world’s problems by creating agricultural abundance. But as we now know, this only led to devastating consequences for our health and the environment. Soil degradation, declining ecosystems, long-term health effects like cancer and biodiversity loss… Today, I fear we are about to repeat history... You have highly influential individuals like Bezos and Gates backing fake meat as a sustainable revolution, but… "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." – George Santaya Meat grown in a petri dish is NOT real meat. It’s made in cell culture in a lab. All sorts of problems can arise from meat grown in a petri dish... It’s almost certainly going to cause health issues for humans like autoimmune issues, damage to the gut and who knows what else… It’s going to have an inferior nutrient profile to meat from a cow that’s eaten grass in nature. And it’s going to be WORSE for the environment. There are multiple studies proving that lab grown meat is way harsher and more damaging to the environment in terms of total carbon footprint and energy costs. So why in the world would you eat lab-grown meat when you could just eat real, nutrient-rich meat like your ancestors have been doing for hundreds of thousands of years??? I don’t know why they are pushing this so damn hard, especially when we should be allocating this money into scaling regenerative agriculture which actually has a NET POSITIVE effect on the planet (and aligns with nature!). But fake lab meat is coming… Production has already begun. The FDA has started approving companies to begin selling this science experiment to you and your family. And you better believe guys like Bezos are gonna try and convince you that it’s better for you and the planet. Which, ladies and gentlemen, is…BOVINE EXCRIMENT! So keep eating the most sought-after foods by humans. Meat, organs, fruit, honey, raw dairy. Paul Salidino Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Eating out can be a challenge especially if you are not totally committed to begin with. I used to think it was going to be an issue in the beginning but I’ve found that looking up the restaurants menu ahead of time prepares me to make better decisions and it’s real easy to just order the meat and either skip the sides or take them home for the dogs or chickens. If on the chance everyone want to go somewhere that doesn’t have anything I can eat, such as an Italian restaurant then I have no problem with just drinking water and enjoying the company I’m with. Low Energy on Carnivore Diet
I don’t think this is off the wall and would make sense if we think of vitamin C in the conventional realm of the SAD. To start with, scurvy is not caused by lack of vitamin C. It was caused in the sailors by the high carb diet they ate and the lack of fresh meat. In fact it was reported that it was common for the sailors to get scurvy and not the officers because the officers were the only ones that got the meat. The reason they were able to combat the scurvy with eating limes was because of exactly what you said that it was repairing and fighting infection. So the C was a medicine not a cure. The reason that no carnivore needs large amounts of vitamin C is because when we are metabolically healthy there are very little infections or issues that need to be addressed by taking C. So little is needed. We do get some vitamin C from eating meat albeit small but when that’s all you need it’s sufficient. Now if I were to contract a viral infection, you bet, I’m going to be taking a vitamin C supplement until I’ve got it wiped out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

electrolytes for a beginner
I was taking LMNT and I liked it but I switched to KetoChow because it was more cost effective for me. I was taking electrolytes because the conventional wisdom in the carnivore community was that it was a good thing to do, especially in the beginning because we tend to flush out a higher amount of minerals when eating this way. I have since stopped using KetoChow because my last bloodwork panel showed that I was low on sodium and high on potassium. High potassium is a bad thing for someone who has a heart condition. That and the potassium was causing me to lose too much sodium. So I stopped the supplement and six week later my potassium and sodium were back to normal. Now I just continue to salt my food to taste and I add a 1/4 teaspoon of Redmonds to my water nearly every time I fill my tumbler. I probably fill my 20oz tumbler up 5 or 6 times a day. The only other liquid I drink is one cup of tea in the morning and I will end that ritual in the near future. I do take a magnesium complex supplement but not for the minerals but for a totally different issue concerning my bowels. It’s now been 9 or 10 weeks since I stopped taking electrolytes and I haven’t noticed any difference in how I feel. We are all different with different needs but even after nearly 400 days of being carnivore I’m still learning and experimenting. What works for me and what my needs are may be different from yours. Especially of age, what we eat and even the environment in which we live. Try something for a few weeks or months and see if you notice any difference. Stop for the same amount of time and see it there’s any difference. Get lab work done to confirm but trials. Better to know for sure rather that guess. And try to remember that there is no set cookie cutter way of eating carnivore. You start at a baseline and you may need to adjust one way or the other according to what your body needs. Welcome Scott. Oh man I’m so excited for you. It was around the sixty day mark when everything started coming together for me health wise. It was at the ninety day mark that I knew in my very innermost being that this was the way man was meant to eat and that I would eat this way for the rest of my life. I get so excited when I hear of other people going through the same experience. This is truly a healing diet. I won’t bore you with my list but suffice it to say it’s extensive. You have many more wonderful improvements ahead of you. Enjoy your journey and keep us posted on your progress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Low Energy on Carnivore Diet
I would say that the odds of you being in ketosis is quite slim if your are eating that many carbs. You are definitely eating too much sugar. Any amount of carbs are sugar so add those carbs to the fruit and you are up there. You are feeling the way you do because you are still in a transition stage and your body doesn’t like it. It is used to being fueled glucose from the carbs and sugars you ate on SAD. It’s an addiction that results in a roller coaster of energy and cravings. When you eat that way your blood sugar goes up and the dopamine effect in your body is euphoric. When it drops you begin craving more and that is an addiction. That is why you are feeling better after consuming some carbohydrates. No different than being a drug addict and getting your next fix. The only way to stop that addiction is to cut out all sugars sweeteners and carbs. Your body has been fed bad food for a long time now and it will take a little time to get over that. It can be harder for some than others but in the end it’s all worth it. It really doesn’t take that much time of abstaining to rid yourself of this addiction. Everyone is different but it took me about 60 days to be completely free. I recently decided to stop dairy because I was finding it addictive and it took me about 3 weeks to stop the cravings. You can do this if you really want to but your biggest enemy is yourself. You have to have the mindset that that you cannot fail. Nothing can deter you from your goals. Nobody is coming to save you so you have to save yourself. Be resilient and be committed to your health. Now go light the fire, burn the beast and be happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
