  1. I'm not sure what I'm eating today . In an effort to eliminate Teflon like products from my life We went to Target yesterday and I picked up this new ceramic coated cast iron pan. It will probably be some bacon and eggs to break it in. I've never cooked on ceramic before - Any tips from the group?
  2. Once again I have to say, I don't know how you folks are eating these large quantities of chow. If I make 3 eggs and 3 strips of bacon I'm done for at least 12 hours or more. I know total body size and caloric needs are all different among people but ............ I will admit though "True confessions - My name is Terry and I'm a lazy ass" 😂
  3. How did the pit boss work out for you? I'm always looking to replace my old crappy Traeger (1st gen unit, NO heat above 325'!)
  4. For myself too much straight magnesium citrate in capsule form can cause a laxative effect, but if I mix the powder into my drinking water along with some potassium then it's okay. I have a 10-1 magnesium capsule that I take with no laxative effect but it doesn't help for leg cramps nearly as well. 100% agree about body complexity!
  5. "I could poop through a screen door" is another good one 🤣. Sorry, kind of early in the day for that but I just had to ad that one.
  6. Today will be having grilled flappers of the Gallus gallus domesticus species, or as a few people call them "chicken wings" 🐔😆. We like them with crispy skin and for sauce - Franks redhot and our old friend Butter!
  7. If you have ever had Calcium/Oxalate kidney stones this book can save you a lot of future pain.
  8. Her book "Toxic superfoods" is a must read. Excellent job she did on that one. I've read it twice and will probably just buy a copy one day to keep on hand for reference material.
  9. Do you suffer from any seasonal allergies? That could be another source of itching. I'm affected seasonally and in wisconsin we just hit out first peaks of pollen (and I'm itchy along with our dog) and all the other crap in the air including as of today Canadian wildfire smoke. Our air quality index will be in the "Rad zone" starting this afternoon. At times we can actually smell the smoke from the great white North. Last year I suffered for several days of extreme itching from the tops of my toes to the top of my head. That was torture and NOT during allergy season. I think it was an MS flare-up, but there is no way to say for sure. Thankfully I have not had that again. I wanted to throw my body into the bushes and just roll around like a dog. It was that bad. Benadryl wouldn't even touch it. That's why I think it was MS related. It's a crazy disease for sure.
  10. It took me 3 to 4 weeks to adapt. I jumped right in the deep end and with no gallbladder. That's how I roll with most things in my life. That was 4 years ago and now my digestion is 99% perfect. Once or twice a year I'll have "one of those days" 🤣, But within 24 hours it's all back to normal. I think that is the reason a few people quit carnivore without giving it a chance, But once you are "fat adapted" it is SO worth it in the end! As long as I'm feeding myself "I am a Carnivore for life!"
  11. And the site seems to work well for all. Thanks Bob for all the effort you put in keeping it going! Such a great resource for Carnivores to speak about our WOE. I'm really enjoying my time here.
  12. The oldest PC I still use is a Sony vaio dual core pentium with a 480meg hard drive. That runs my homemade CNC mill. It's the only rig I have that still has a full parallel printer port which the CNC interface requires. VERY old technology right there but hey it still runs. I still remember the day I walked out of Best Buy with it. It was there top of the line system 🤣
  13. OMAD today 2 big Aldi seasoned pub burgers on the flat top with swiss cheese on each. a few grilled asparagus spears from the garden (probably the last for this year) a few pork rinds a small wedge of my carnivore cheesecake. I'm still not hungry 10 hours later. Not sure how some of you are eating the large amounts of food that you consume?? I also smoked and then slow cooked a chuck roast like Geezy suggested the other night. That will be for tomorrow's meal. it smells great in our house today!
  14. I do have an old 10 lb Sony laptop which I will be putting one of the Linux variants on that when I get time. The only games I play yet are MS Flight simulator 2020 and as of yesterday now 2024. I also play Run8 which is a Railroad simulator (Very realistic). I also do a triple monitor cockpit type setup for the flight sims.
  15. Computer Tech and the knowledge of it is something that can outpace a person's mind quickly. If you take even a few months break from it you become a dinosaur. Computer tech evolves at an unbelievable rate. I had the 2nd microcomputer sold in out town in 1978. That was a TRS-80 model 1 with the whopping 16K memory upgrade For $999.00. I have not been without a computer since that day. Currently 4 PC's at home all with dedicated uses. I'm a computer nerd and will freely admit that. Cell phone tech is my personal downfall, but the neighbor kids help me with that 🤣
  16. Can't play MSFS 2020/2024 nor Run8 on linux. I do use linux on my Raspberry pi5 and for general everyday tasks including YouTube it is fine, but for game play I'll be keeping Win11 which for me has worked extremely well since day one. No complaints
  17. Eggs, bacon and sausage for early. 4 mile walk pork tenderloin and salmon for later
  18. I can prepare just about anything but ribs have always been my downfall. The best way I have found is the 3-2-1 method. I have more misses than hits when it comes to ribs. If I really NEED a rack of ribs right now we usually end up at Texas roadhouse. Theirs are perfect every time. I always wanted to work there for a few days just to get their secrets, but I couldn't stand to work with all those young kids.
  19. My wife and I were just sitting out in the sun this afternoon talking about what is all in the fridge to be finished up before I cook some more. Our local Menards has a good brat sale this week which i would like to get in on, BUT the freezer is full. I would bet I will buy some there tomorrow as we will be in town anyways 😆. WTH, they won't go to waste!
  20. Other than the working part your life sounds a lot like mine. I will be doing a 100 hour "Century Fast" ASAP, just to say I did it (and blow people's minds😆). From what I've read also it seems like the influencers kind of agree that the sweet spot is 36-48 hours for general overall health gains, But with MS would going longer be better? Only one way to tell I guess.
  21. That cooking method has me intrigued. Have you made them like that in the past? Anything fried in lard is good IMO. I will refry pork rinds sometimes in bacon grease, and let me tell you that will bump up your fat macro for the day for sure! 🤣 my wife thinks I'm nuts whenever I do that. I just smile and eat them all.
  22. No need to wait. Just jump in, slowly if you feel that's what you need, but do please join us and jump in. I find the carnivore life to be great. There are so many benefits to it.
  23. I really enjoy pineapple on a pizza. I've never understood the hatred that some people have for doing that. We make KETO pizza's using zero(net) carb tortillas.
  24. Up and smokin' at 6am along with an early morning firepit session followed by a 20 mile bike ride into the local library. Now I'm hoping to stay up till around 10pm. I just sat down for the first time for today at 6:30pm and I can feel the eyelids getting heavy 🤣 The ribs were good and the salmon was fabulous!
  25. I'm trying to get another fast done but all this meat keeps getting the way. I need to stop going to the meat market for a while😂. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I get there. Having extra energy is wonderful. A good night's sleep helps me a lot. Was up today at 5:22am (VERY early for me) due to a killer charley horse. I need to up my magnesium. That usually helps a lot. As long as I was up I started all the lawn work before the weekend starts and we got it all done. So now we can relax the next few days.
