  1. I would agree with you on that. One of the reasons I wrote what I did was When I started Carny I saw and now know how well it can change people's lives. I have several close friends plus my sister who are all very overweight (most of Wisconsin is very overweight!) and I know this lifestyle could get them back into a better place with their health. One of them is a severe type 2 diabetic. None of them wanted to hear anything about it, so I clammed up and now say nothing about Carny to anyone! If someone asks what I've been doing I now direct them to Dr Berry to check out his videos on the subject. The problem I will have in the future is when one of them "goes down" with something serious I know I'm going to feel bad about it because they just wouldn't give it a try. It's a mental block I have to learn to get over and just worry about myself, my wife and our dog. All three of us are carnivores, Well the dog does still get a few veggies in her homemade food. My daily mantra - Repeat after me "I'm only one person and it's not my job to save the World" 😄
  2. Found a 3 pack of NY strip on clearance at Wally world this morning. Salted them down for a few hours and then cold smoked them for 3 hours, then flash grilled them for a few minutes. I ate one and the wife had another. one left for Sunday. We ate KETO today. grilled up asparagus fresh from our garden along with the steaks. Plus some homemade L-shirota yogurt
  3. I've found the people either love spam or they hate it. Haven't talked to anyone yet that is in the middle ground. I LOVE Spam. the original saltier one is my first choice. Some of the flavored ones are pretty good also. It's just pork shoulder and ham and spices, pre-cooked in the can. Pan fried with eggs and maybe some cheddar cheese is really good. When I ate a SAD diet I would fry a big thick slice and then put it on a hard roll with SHARP cheddar cheese and some orange marmalade. That was a last/death row meal kind of food for me. Those hard roll days are gone now! Let us know what you think of it. Chicken fried spam using pork rind crumbs is also an excellent way to go.
  4. 10 oz pork chop 1/4 lb. 70/30 patty L-rueteri yogurt later a little ham and swiss rolled up That's more than enough for me for one day. (Oh ya and 3 lbs of mixed white and brown sugar for my sugar diet 🤣🤣🤣)
  5. 1/2 lb pulled pork One leftover chicken wing oven cooked bacon several eggs, scrambled bottomless decaf 1/2 cup L-casei "shirota" yogurt
  6. Geezy - with you being in TX do you ever use mesquite? we can get it here in chunk form in the BBQ section of the stores also comes in pellets for the pelletheads. I haven't used any in years and forgot what it tastes like. I may have to get a bag and try it again. The more smoke the better for me.
  7. I did the same thing last week. Turned out nice. Next time I'm pounding it with much more smoke!
  8. 3/4 lb of 70/30 fried up in a good load of ghee Cheddar cheese on top plus all the pan drippin's L-rueteri yogurt with instant coffee blended in With a meal like this I feel like a king 🫅🤣
  9. I turn each "smoking day" into an all day event, so some planning is required for sure. Back in the day when we were drinking alcohol we had some doozys for sure. I'd wake up the following morning and wonder where all the meat went and the neighbors would say we ate it all last night at the party 🤣. Those kind of parties would kill me now! A full brisket and I'm looking at 10-12 hours start to finish, but SO worth it. Pork shoulder takes a little less. Salmon is only 3 or 4 hours. The only chicken I smoke is wings and those go on the Traeger for just a little while. We don't eat much chicken around our house. I'd rather have a bowl of chicken soup 🤣.
  10. 4 eggs and a strip of bacon (I'm Stuffed) decaf coffee 33 mile WINDY bike ride. Our timing was perfect today. Just got home and the sky opened up ⛈️🌧️ L-reuteri yogurt I'll probably make a chaffle for later tonight That will do it for me
  11. Thanks. I've got several cast iron pans and a dutch oven which I enjoy using. I make Neisha Berry's cornless cornbread (fantastic recipe by the way) in my dutch oven. I'm going to take my 12" cast iron fry pan and polish it as smooth as possible and then re-season it. saw a guy do that online and it really improved the pan a lot for him. All the teflon is going in the recycle bin for disposal. Never had much luck with stainless and can't afford a good carbon steel pan.
  12. I'm convinced more than ever that the world is full of idiots after hearing about the sugar diet a few weeks ago. If a person would do even a small amount of reading or research online they could maybe see the error of their decision. Oh well, it's not my job to save their ass so they can grab a big spoon and the sugar bowl or maybe a jar of honey and dig right in. Good luck with your future cancers. They are a bitch, trust me, I've been down that road once and being carnivore I hope to never travel that road again! Things like this are one of the main reasons I don't really like people anymore. The world has gone to shit and this is just another reason to believe that! True carnivores know the truth by our own personal experiences with this WOE. Long live the carnivores!!!
  13. Cures do not generate a profit, only sick patients do. Not that many years ago Coconut and palm oil was going to kill us all overnight. Now it's good for us.
  14. The doctors at the mayo clinic are no better than the doctors at your local clinic. They are all working for a corporation who will always have a "standard of care" that they must follow or else they will get sued or lose their positions within that corporation. As patients we need to do our own research into our nutrition and deal with it ourselves. your local doctor will hand out this same crapola of bad science. My local doctor told me years ago that I need to keep some carbs in my diet. I just laughed at her and said - why?, I'm still waiting for an answer 😂. Why do you think most of the carnivore influencer doctor work for themselves?
  15. I needed a laugh today. That post was a funny one!
  16. Is Cronometer (free version) of any use for this application? I have not used it in a long time. I do not track anything myself and I just eat fatty meat as much as possible. When I first started out I used Cronometer to track my food intake and found it to be too much of a hassle always running to the computer after I would eat, and after a few months of just eating fatty meat I found to be the easiest. No tracking, no apps, no hassles. Eating correctly (for my system) just became my way of life.
  17. I'm not sure what I'm eating today . In an effort to eliminate Teflon like products from my life We went to Target yesterday and I picked up this new ceramic coated cast iron pan. It will probably be some bacon and eggs to break it in. I've never cooked on ceramic before - Any tips from the group?
  18. Once again I have to say, I don't know how you folks are eating these large quantities of chow. If I make 3 eggs and 3 strips of bacon I'm done for at least 12 hours or more. I know total body size and caloric needs are all different among people but ............ I will admit though "True confessions - My name is Terry and I'm a lazy ass" 😂
  19. How did the pit boss work out for you? I'm always looking to replace my old crappy Traeger (1st gen unit, NO heat above 325'!)
  20. For myself too much straight magnesium citrate in capsule form can cause a laxative effect, but if I mix the powder into my drinking water along with some potassium then it's okay. I have a 10-1 magnesium capsule that I take with no laxative effect but it doesn't help for leg cramps nearly as well. 100% agree about body complexity!
  21. "I could poop through a screen door" is another good one 🤣. Sorry, kind of early in the day for that but I just had to ad that one.
  22. Today will be having grilled flappers of the Gallus gallus domesticus species, or as a few people call them "chicken wings" 🐔😆. We like them with crispy skin and for sauce - Franks redhot and our old friend Butter!
  23. If you have ever had Calcium/Oxalate kidney stones this book can save you a lot of future pain.
  24. Her book "Toxic superfoods" is a must read. Excellent job she did on that one. I've read it twice and will probably just buy a copy one day to keep on hand for reference material.
  25. Do you suffer from any seasonal allergies? That could be another source of itching. I'm affected seasonally and in wisconsin we just hit out first peaks of pollen (and I'm itchy along with our dog) and all the other crap in the air including as of today Canadian wildfire smoke. Our air quality index will be in the "Rad zone" starting this afternoon. At times we can actually smell the smoke from the great white North. Last year I suffered for several days of extreme itching from the tops of my toes to the top of my head. That was torture and NOT during allergy season. I think it was an MS flare-up, but there is no way to say for sure. Thankfully I have not had that again. I wanted to throw my body into the bushes and just roll around like a dog. It was that bad. Benadryl wouldn't even touch it. That's why I think it was MS related. It's a crazy disease for sure.
