  1. My wife and I were just sitting out in the sun this afternoon talking about what is all in the fridge to be finished up before I cook some more. Our local Menards has a good brat sale this week which i would like to get in on, BUT the freezer is full. I would bet I will buy some there tomorrow as we will be in town anyways πŸ˜†. WTH, they won't go to waste!
  2. Other than the working part your life sounds a lot like mine. I will be doing a 100 hour "Century Fast" ASAP, just to say I did it (and blow people's mindsπŸ˜†). From what I've read also it seems like the influencers kind of agree that the sweet spot is 36-48 hours for general overall health gains, But with MS would going longer be better? Only one way to tell I guess.
  3. That cooking method has me intrigued. Have you made them like that in the past? Anything fried in lard is good IMO. I will refry pork rinds sometimes in bacon grease, and let me tell you that will bump up your fat macro for the day for sure! 🀣 my wife thinks I'm nuts whenever I do that. I just smile and eat them all.
  4. No need to wait. Just jump in, slowly if you feel that's what you need, but do please join us and jump in. I find the carnivore life to be great. There are so many benefits to it.
  5. I really enjoy pineapple on a pizza. I've never understood the hatred that some people have for doing that. We make KETO pizza's using zero(net) carb tortillas.
  6. Up and smokin' at 6am along with an early morning firepit session followed by a 20 mile bike ride into the local library. Now I'm hoping to stay up till around 10pm. I just sat down for the first time for today at 6:30pm and I can feel the eyelids getting heavy 🀣 The ribs were good and the salmon was fabulous!
  7. I'm trying to get another fast done but all this meat keeps getting the way. I need to stop going to the meat market for a whileπŸ˜‚. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I get there. Having extra energy is wonderful. A good night's sleep helps me a lot. Was up today at 5:22am (VERY early for me) due to a killer charley horse. I need to up my magnesium. That usually helps a lot. As long as I was up I started all the lawn work before the weekend starts and we got it all done. So now we can relax the next few days.
  8. I've found that with my case of MS I can only do one thing at a time now. Never used to be like that. If we are out walking and my wife says something it's best for me to stop and then we talk otherwise I'm "going down" tripping on my own feet. when we walk on trails I have to concentrate on the ground and NOT the scenery. It kind of sucks but I'm still able to get out and walk around. Just did 3 miles yesterday, Which I haven't walked that far in about 1 1/2 years. 3 years ago I could still do 10 mile walks. I was always told that these would be my golden years. My gold is a little tarnished 🀣
  9. That's how we are rolling also minus the work part (Retired). Going to try and squeeze in some disc golf also, weather permitting. We are going to rocket all the way up to 61'F this weekend 🀣.
  10. If you are near Milwaukee this weekend, let me know. I'd love to cook a burger for you πŸ™‚. I have extras. No need to bring anything.

  12. Flaky is the word I was looking for. You nailed it with that comment. I enjoy Kelly hogans videos myself. First time I heard her I wasn't sure what to think and then really got into her delivery. Lately I've been following Emma Voysey.
  13. I've got a full tank of propane on one grill and a full hopper of pellets in the smoker and I'm ready to cook! planning on....... Smoked salmon A rack of ribs Seasoned pub burgers.
  14. Brisket and swiss under the broiler Shirota yogurt pork tenderloin in the oven right now but we will probably eat that tomorrow. Figured I might as well cook it as long as the oven was hot from the brisket and swiss. Saving energy, good for the World πŸ˜€
  15. OUCHY! Be sure to treat those injuries with a big thick ribeye. You've earned that at a minimum.
  16. That plate of food looks delicious. Much better than my day old hamburger patty πŸ˜‚
  17. Started the day with a simple chaffle, but I sinned and put a little maple syrup on it πŸ˜„. The wife's family makes maple syrup and we help out in the woods so we always get a jar full. At least it's natural 1/2 lb of ribeye for lunch A burger patty for right now Some reuteri yogurt later, right before bed and then we are done for the day. This is the rare "three meals" kind of day.
  18. It's raining by me but I'm grilling burger patties and brats later today. I haven't had a burger patty in weeks. I ate a hard boiled egg and some L-reuteri yogurt for something early today. The homemade yogurt is addictive. I limit myself to just a few spoonful's and then I have to put it away. A new batch of L-casei shirota yogurt finished this morning and the first taste is even better than the reuteri. Dr Bill Davis' book "super gut" has all this info and is a good read especially for anyone with gut issues.
  19. I do my hard boiled eggs in my instapot and they will peel like a dream every time. high pressure for 8 minutes, then 8 minutes natural release, then into cold/ice water for 8 minutes. Just made a batch about 10 minutes ago for our homemade dog food and my wife said "wow, do these peel easy".
  20. A suggestion for the group - This "What did you eat today" subject could be a permanent "sticky" on the forums page. It would make it easy to find and it really is the main subject of what being a carnivore is all about - "Food" It's just a thought I had slip through my cranium.
  21. When we had 3 shelties and they would sometimes get touchy tummies we fed them an equal mix of cooked ground beef, cooked white rice and cottage cheese. They would bounce back pretty quick with that mix. Must have been highly digestible because they wouldn't go poop for several days.
  22. I don't know if I'd eat suet in the raw state but, I started off with 6+ lbs of suet and slowly cooked it down over several hours. I poured the liquid tallow into a silicone cupcake pan and then froze it solid. I ended up with lots of tallow "hockey pucks" which I use for pan frying of eggs and other items. I also cut off chunks and just eat that in the morning while I'm feeding the dog. She gets a good sized chunk of tallow in her homemade food also. Sometimes saved bacon grease replaces the tallow. It is an acquired texture to eat but I now like it. I eat it for a little extra energy to start the day. The dog will pull those chunks out first before anything else in her bowl. What was left in the kettle after rendering was connective tissue and collagen. I continued cooking that down slowly until it browned up nicely and then poured it all out on a piece of parchment paper and then placed that in the freezer to solidify. What I got was some crunchy chunks kind of like a snack cracker along with what I would call chunky dust that I saved to sprinkle on eggs or to use as a healthy zero carb breading or something like that. The whole experiment was a huge success with no waste and very affordable besides. The price of commercially made Tallow in the store is INSANE. Next trip to the meat market I'm picking up a load of beef bones for homemade bone broth. That's also a big win price and taste wise. Being a carny has really opened my mind and taste buds to things I never thought I would consume. I think eating tallow is slightly better for the body than eating some butter, But what do I know. I'm not a doctor - Oh wait, my doctor doesn't know ANYTHING about nutrition! 🀣
  23. Leftover ribeye from yesterday's grill session. We both ate early, around 10:30 am, so OMAD may not happen today. I'll be consuming a 1/2 cup L-reuteri yogurt for sure. I was reading some pubmed pages last night about the positive effects of L-reuteri yogurt and intermittent fasting on MS. I'm always searching for my "personal cure for MS"
  24. I've seen on Youtube if you crack your eggs with the back of a knife instead of the bowl edge, that is supposed to help make a clean break in the shell. I have never tried it though, so ...........
