Carnivore and fasting
And boatload of vitamin D also. That vitamin D is formed from cholesterol and sun exposure.

Carnivore and fasting
I've found that I can't eat the "comfortably stuffed" (As Dr Berry would say) portions anymore. I do get plenty of fat though using bacon grease and butter, also coconut oil cubes that I keep in the freezer work well, especially for ketone production. The MCT's from coconut oil are supposed to go straight to the brain.

Carnivore and fasting
For myself after all this carny time I no longer try to "eat till stuffed". I now just do a nice OMAD around 1pm, and maybe some beef jerky or pork rinds around 5pm or 6pm and thats it on a typical day. If we do like big ribeyes or something really tasty for a meal and I eat too much Then I feel uncomfortable all night long. I'm now getting closer to my current goal weight and do not require so much food anymore. once I reach the current goal of 150 pounds total body weight I will then reevaluate how I feel and maybe set a new goal of 145. To me it's amazing how well you can feel and survive on so little food when you are eating quality nutrition without all the crap foods.

Carnivore and fasting
I don't track protein or calories. Only carbs, which I want as close to zero as possible, every day and I try to get as much fat as possible, so I don't waste the time tracking fat at all. I eat 99% zero carb foods so my tracking is really easy. I have a small food window of items which I find very convenient for shopping. My wife and I are both retired for 4 years now, and right after retired I started to not feel very well. My MS was kicking a little along with a few other thing. We both Started ketovore and quickly went carnivore. Pretty much helped everything and haven't looked back. If the opportunity appears to discuss carnivore with someone and I see they are wide eyed about it then I will also give them the 96 hours fasting story also. I like to blow there minds with wonder. Nice to hear about your friends weight loss. Did he start Carny because of you? either way it's good to hear

Best Fish for the Keto Diet: Benefits and Nutritional Values 2025
Thanks everybody - All this talk about fish made me hungry, so I ran to aldi for a huge piece of salmon. That's soaking up a little smoke on the pellet grill right now and will be our OMAD for this afternoon. I just did a little lemon-pepper and paparika and I'll have butter for dipping at meal time. Quick, simple and delicious. The wife suggested a pizza from aldi until I showed her the label and it is 36 grams of carbs per 1/8 slice. She said no way we are eating that 😂.

Carnivore and fasting
Congrats on your weight loss so far. 4 years later and I will still get "Disaster Pants" maybe once a year or so. Who knows why?. Doesn't matter because it's still better digestion and elimination than when on a SAD diet. Now when I think about it for a minute, it happens to me when I overdo my fat consumption. Yes, That my reason for sure. Because of how GREAT I feel when fasting I wish I could do it all the time. For me it's an amazing energy boost, and yes it will last for a few days after the fast has ended. as you refill your system with food it must take a while for that effect to go away. I used cronometer for a while to track my food but it became too big a PITA and just stopped doing that. I never tracked blood levels of anything. Now I just go by how I feel and how my pants fit. When i have to pull the belt out of the closet then I know I'm on the right track. Currently I'm the lowest in weight since probably middle school. I was very overweight from kindergarten on. Carny has fixed all that and more. I recently stopped all the cheese I was eating, which wasn't a lot by the way and have started losing weight again. Down 3-4 more pounds this week alone. 7 pounds from my next goal weight. Great luck to you (and us all) for continued success! Spread the word if you can and remember to "Eat your meat and live a long life"

Mouth sore and sensitive
Carny for 4 years and teeth and mouth have never been better for me. I switched to a non fluoride toothpaste about a year ago. BOKA brand is what i now use. It's a nano hydroxyapatite based toothpaste and really works well. It also contains xylitol which has been shown to help with cavity protection by reducing the acids in your mouth. Wife tried the BOKA and she had a few teeth that became sensitive to heat and cold items, so she went back to a fluoride based product. So, "your mileage may very" I also used to get canker sores (since the age of 5!) and eating carny they are no longer a thing in my life. I cannot remember the last time I had one.

Underarm stick won't wash off!
My body odor is greatly reduced eating carnivore. After years of use, I had become sensitized to deodorants and antiperspirants and can no longer use them or I break out in a bad rash that lasts for several weeks. Here is one other thing, I have a sauna in the house and on a SAD diet after a sauna session the towel you sit on would just smell like a wet towel, but eating carnivore the towel nows smell like a very strong ammonia smell. Not sure why. Maybe dumping toxins out of the body. Who knows, I just find that strange.

Who knows about the Meat secret from the New Jersey area?
I'm talking about Taylor ham or N.J. pork roll. Similar to SPAM but a little more salty and spicier. We can only get it in Wisconsin by having it shipped here. Our neighbor grew up near Jersey and turned us on to it. I ordered 12 pounds a few years ago and we had a feast one afternoon. The leftovers didn't last too long either. There are a few recipes on line to make a homemade version. I haven't tried making it myself, yet. according to our neighbor the Taylor brand is better than the "NJ pork roll" brand.

So who owns the most grills?
I got that same smoker. Best rig I ever used. Only took one session to get the setting correct. Steel so thick that you have to put it in your will, so it stays in the family

What Did You Eat Today?
When I was about 5 years old my mom tricked me into eating some liver and I didn't like it and have never eaten it since then. I know I should eat it for the health benefits but just can't do it because of the memories. Taking Niesha Berry's advice I may grab a pound of frozen at Walmart and chop it into TINY bits, then keep it frozen it and just swallow those bits whole. I have used the desiccated liver supplements but those are expensive. Frozen calves liver is cheap.

Very nice setup you have there. I love that cabin

I'm down to 4 now 🤣. At one time it was 6. There was a brinkman bullet and a homemade low temp upright electric but I ran out of room in the shed.

U.S. secretary of health said go carnivore!!!
Meat is my drug of choice now. I had a yearly check-up a few years ago and told the doctor that I was eating a carnivore diet and she said "no-no-no, you still should have some carbs". I laughed right at her and said "why?" - I'm still waiting for the answer 😂. She's seems like a nice lady so I don't say anything about nutrition now unless she asks me. It's a free but really useless exam. I'm not sure it really is of any benefit to me personally. They do basic blood work and my LDL numbers are high (but the ratio they check is fantastic), she freaks out, calls the house and I say "I'm good, I'm on a carnivore diet"

Is anyone into eating Raw Beef? I'm tempted to tear into a raw ribeye one of these days just to say i did. Being in Wisconsin, at Christmas time there is always a plate of raw beef (high quality freshly ground round or sirloin) available and rye bread along with sliced raw onions and salt and pepper. It is the only time now that I will allow myself to eat a piece of bread 😃. So frick'n good that you know you are going back for another round as you are eating the first one. If you go down the road 100 miles to Illinois they think you are insane if you explain that to them.

U.S. secretary of health said go carnivore!!!
101% Agreed and it's maybe even more than 90% of people. After doing this WOE for 4 years now when I hear non carnivores or even non-ketos speak about their health and their WOE and all the meds they are on I just remain quiet and go on with my own life. When I first started and had such great success with carnivore I was telling everyone about it to the point of being annoying, and I quickly found out NO ONE gives a shit about their own health as long as they are not having any major issues. Recently had a family get together with the in-laws and some of them were saying how they are on statins along with a few other meds and they have no idea why it was prescribed. They just trust their horrible old doctors. They don't even know what their blood work numbers mean and they were all eating the sugary crap that people brought. I almost bit through my tongue to remain quiet, but I did and said to myself "oh well, it's NOT my job to save THEIR lives". I also have an old work friend who is very pre-diabetic and he is convinced that he could never eat this way nor afford it even though I showed him how we spend about 1/3 less on food bills by not buying all the crap we used to buy. He did get his A1C down to 7 and his doctor told him that was normal range now. I said nothing about that to him. There again "not my job". The whole thing is so sad!

Is anyone in the group taking NAC?
Yesterday I started taking twice daily NAC for my MS and trying to boost my energy level. MS fatigue is REALLY horrible! I've used NAC in the past but only once per day (1/2 dose according to the label). Just wondering what other have found from using it?

What Did You Eat Today?
That is exactly what i do most times I grill steaks, Plus I have a "smoke tube" which is a stainless steel tube you add pellets into, light one end and it can add more smoke for up to 4 hours per fill. I have an original Traeger (made in USA one) and those early models were not very good on the smoke setting. I even got the Traeger upgrade but still not very good compared to other models out there in the marketplace. The smoke tube used by itself is great for smoking things like cheeses and hard boiled eggs. I sometimes smoke my eggs before pickling them - EXCELLENT flavor doing that. For brisket or pork shoulders I then fire up my Brinkman Cimarron and just go with cherry or hickory chunks all day long. Wrap at 165' and continue up to 203'. With food like that Who wouldn't want to be a carnivore???
