New glasses coming
Got an eye exam, ordered glasses. Total bill was like $ 1100. I paid about 250. Insurance covered far more than I expected. So 10 to 14 days and I hope to see better.

On to 2026
Like it or not each of us for the most part are on our own. Our health journey is self directed. No government, no doctor, no anything. I personally sort through you tube and Google. Sorting out what I need the best I can. My objectives in the first quarter of 2026 are: 1. Continue to eat as low carb as possible. 2. Increase my exercise level. 3. Test my C-peptide and enzyme level to. see where my T2DM is at. 4. Somehow trim 1 pound a week off. 5. Continue to improve my metabolic health. Not sure exactly here. I am not in a bad place, just need to be more optimal.

Too much data?
I can not verify this, but I am suspicious in how the algorithm handles the data in deciding wgat data to ignore

Too much data?
Abbott laboratories make the Libre 2 and 3 CGM's. The recorded the blood glucose level every 5 minutes. On September 30th they were discontinued, replaced by the 2 Plus and 3 Plus. These newer models record the blood glucose level every 60 seconds. The reading is sent via blue tooth to my phone app. Sometimes my display graph of my blood Glucose Level looks like a zig zag sewing machine stitch. The app 'smooths' out the graph. But it makes me wonder a bit.

PCSK9
Looks to me like a real profit center. PCSK9 drugs are considered to be a boozooka in the battle against heart disease. In discussions I have looked at Statins are a pea shooter by comparison. In my opinion the studies are as convoluted as any statin study. I am somewhat surprised the side effects are similar to that of statins. This class of drugs are injections. My PCP has already dropped hints this is for me. It seems to be more about we must fear LDL. When I get this recommended it will just be no. I am, thank God, allergic to statins. I figure be similar for this. Eric westman has a video coming on December 3 covering this. Seems to be a good video. Not me says Paul.

Smart phone, ughh

All i watch ...
The only TV I ever see is NFL games. On Thanksgiving Day it was football and some advertisement for a Cholesterol Drug. A 'Heart' was crying out to its owner how they needed to do more. And of course it stated how the studies showed spectacular results. Two things, the side effects where HUGE. Scared me to say no. And most l likely if u took this medication you would live 3 more days. The Cholesterol narrative is so alive and well. Currently 25% of patients say no to Statins. I thankfully am allergic to statins. I think. But not sure, this ad was foe an injection.

Thanksgiving Day, it's changed
It's not like the old days. I will not go into what the menu was years ago. For me this time it is slow cooked turkey thighs. A favorite part of the bird for me., To be followed by a carnivore pumpkin cheesecake. Topped with *whipped cream. This cheesecake gets great reviews when served. A very generous portion contains 6 whole carbs. For my thankful part, I have resolved Manny issue. My diabetes remains, I respond as a T1d now (likely now LADA) . My Blood Glucose Level is controlled rather tightly with long acting insulin and a Zero carb one meal a day diet. My future is the best it can be. I do gave bold plans for my future. Everyone have a great holiday.

Been a tight 90 days
Ty, yes the holidays ! I prepared. Just lost a CGM sensor to a door jam. Put a new one on and called for a replacement. Holidays can be rough.

Been a tight 90 days
Near Zero carbs a day. A phone/CGM issue, and some insulin struggles. I was going to get an A1c lab. But looking at my CGM data i feel pretty confident my A1c is ~ 6.5 and I ok with that. I just keep to Zero carbs, more exercise, and pay close attention to my insulin dosage. Give it ~ 120 days and do labs. Come then I going to get blood work to make a LADA Determination. You all enjoy Thanksgiving. I having Turkey thighs in a Carnivore Sauce. Followed by pumpkin cheesecake topped with whipped cream. I made these choices because my Blood Glucose Level is so good and I cutting back on insulin again.

huge jump in cholesterol for me.
In my opinion you are fine. Your levels of TC and LDL are ok. Your TRI is lovely. Your HDL is increasing nicely. These last to are part of 6 important metabolic markers ! What u call a big jump to me is not so much. Just my view of it.

A Big weekend
My son, Justin, now 40, became an amputee at age 12. This year he lost like 80 pounds and logged 1,000 miles in training to run. On Saturday in Philadelphia he ran a 1/2 Marathon. An impressive ~ 2 hour finish tome. He exceeded everyone's expectations. He works making prosthetic legs and a foot manufacturer sponsors his running. He told me the Philadelphia crowd was soooo super supportive! Hopefully you can see him in photo below.

I keep reminding ,,,
Myself, healing takes time. I am on track, but getting low Blood Glucose Levels again. So this time I am dealing with the lows ( so far not severe). Just dialing down insulin more slowly. Figure it out as i go. Seems like I am always figuring it out. Meanwhile, the turkey thighs went from freezer to fridge yesterday. Crock pot is clean. The carnivore cheesecake is cut and in the freezer. Coffee is in good supply. As a note, the audio alarms on my CGM are silent for the next 6 hours. Currently at 54 on cgm. Finger stick says 60. I feel fine.

A big Why time

The 3 I follow the most
U saw the title and thought: Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. American Pie rolls through your head. In the human diet I go with Westman, Kay, and Chaffee. On their tails I nod to Berry, Halberg, and Semi Retired Bob. Just saying. These individuals have shaped my life style. Do not forget there not much science to nutrition. We experiment on ourselves, n = 1. I in particular borrow bits from here and there an make it for me. Hence I am extremely low carb a very high % of the time. Be well
