  1. The Zero Carb Lifestyle continues, being careful about any dairy. Have to limit cheese and possibly HWC. Wave a conversion factor to apply to my CGM readings. I multiply the CGM value bu 1.2 to get my real BGL number. M I ee this c evening.
  2. Spent 3 hours jumping through medicare insurance hoops. Had to change carrier to better fit my needs. Will lower my out of pocketbco a t hy almost 90 dollars c a month. T h e things webhavebto do.
  3. It could be a very long story, so here it is short. I use the Liber CGM (2 plus model) and my finger stick glucometer is the Relion Primeer. So how accurate are they. Of to the lab via Own Your Labs for a fasting blood gluecose. Glucometer and test strips with me. CGM 82 mg/dL Glucometer 98 mg/dL Lab Corp 99 mg/dL So 98 verses 82, a 20 % difference. Thre more finger sticks and each is very close to 20 % more than my CGM. Therefore;: (CGM reading) X 1.2 = adjusted BGL I am very sure of this. So I convert my CGM now. This morning my CGM reports a 7 day average BGL of 80. 80 x 1.2 = 96 mg/dL. So back to going after my 84 mg/dL target. Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle
  4. U know the finger stick thing. I found out when I get a fasting glucose lab just bring the meter and test strips. As the tech fo a drop of blood to test, my tech was nice and so I had a number to compare to the lab result for to compare, was a close match. Now I can see how close my CGM is at home.
  5. Over 55 years ago we landed 2 men on the moon and returned them to earth, safely. In a few years we did it 5 more times. Today we do not have a reliable (say 95%) and accurate (say plus or minus 5%) Continuous Glucose Monitor. With 4 days left on the sensor it crashed, Replace Sensor, comes the error message. Ok I getting over it. My last reported 7 day average BGL was 84. 1 away from a target of 83. New target is now 70. So come morning I will make the phone call for a replacement. Ty for letting me get o v er this.
  6. Yes, for right now I am dependent on exogenous Insulin ( about 1/2 of what I used 3 months ago). And do not worryj, even when my BGL is 55 I got energy b and brain power.
  7. The results are in. The lab reported my A1c at 6.1%. Which compares to my CGM's reported 90 day Glucose Management Indicator (GMI) of 5.9. Nicely close. So retest in mid July, 17 weeks from now. Targeting < 5.0. Working out at gym 3x a week now. Yes following Bernstein's recommendations for men at 70 years old. And continue the Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. The CMP panel was very good, nice kidney function!
  8. Indeed, thankfully I good a digging up answers and judging content. I have a list of red flags.
  9. The real issue in life is knowing how to learn. Like it or not it is each person's responsibility to learn what to eat. Nobody forced poor food choices on you. U selected the wat you eat. The medical community and the government were of little help. We been harmed not our fault, but yes, our problem. My world is the Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. It took 4 years to learn that. Be well my friends.
  10. Lol, ty. I be happy with a A1c < 5, and < 25 units of insulin per day by 07/12/2026. Marking my 70th birthday!
  11. Great, very nice to see good results. My some what recent weight increase is reversing. As of, 3/15 /2026 my 7 day BGL has dropped to 87, the goal of 83 is in reach.

Come as two diabetics tell it as they see it that be enough, mark your calendar.
  13. So where are u in NC?? I lived in Hickory from 1990bto 2019. Paul
  14. That is what it is. It does not matter what type. It is high BGL. There, In my opinion, is no pre diabetes and no touch of diabetes. (This is Dr. Bernstein's way of thinking) For most, the real solution is a low or very low carb diet. I do a Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. I follow Bernstein almost exclusively now. This morning I reached a new 7 day average BGL, 90 mg/dL. Headed to Bernstein's suggested target of 83. In the last 8 months I never been so ZERO strict. , next week I will have a new A1c lab. Once I get to the 83 mg/dL level i will resume reducing the insulin dose. My old BGL target was 114, that is the effect Bernstein has had on me. Be well
  15. Here is a great representation of progress on my Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. Over 7 days my BGL pattern. Shrinking into the 70 tp 100 mg/dL range all day long. Some medical doctors will be disturbed that it is diet and not pharmaceuticals driving the results. The daily BGL average for 7 days here is 94
  16. I recently noticed 2 things in my Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. Most everyone experiences the Dawn Effect, a natural rise in one's Blood Glucose Level in the early morning. Part of waking up. 1. Sometimes my rise is small, maybe 15 or so and goes down to normalize 30 b to 45 minutes. 2. Even my big Dawn Effect , like 30 to 40 mg/dL, returns to normal in a similar fashion. As one eats the appropriate human diet our bodies go better ! A side note: my 7 day, average BGL continues to drop, 94 this morning ! Look out 85, here i come.
  17. Yes, or they doing what they are told to do by corporate. Nonetheless, cled minds. BTW, was 96 this morning.
  18. That 99 is down to 96. Don't you just love it! My PCP does not know what to think, other than this must be dangerous and I'm going to have a stroke.
  19. Yes. I am Diabetic. Here Is the last 7 day cgm report. A Zero carb lifestyle.
  20. The sad issue here is that many drugs are pushed to market without enough testing nowadays. The end user, the patient, is the long term test. These drugs in this class are very profitable. New versions will come along and prices will decrease. A few years ago insulins were very pricy and profitable. New manufacturers entered the market, price dropped from 800 dollars a month to 100 dollars.
  21. UPDATE: Tightened control I have changed my BGL range. From 70 - 130 , now 70 to 100. Looking for an average BGL of 85. Also doing my insulin with a different insulin and different timing. Is my job. Not something anyone else is going to do. Some doctors would say they should call the shots. It I s going well with the changes so far.
