James H. Salisbury (1823–1905) was an American physician and chemist known for his advocacy of a meat-centered diet to promote health, and the term Salisbury steak for a ground beef patty served as the main course has been used in the United States since 1897.

Just ran across this and thought that I would post it. I find it interesting that eating a meat-based diet was thought of back in the 1800's. Lived a long life as well.

I might try the goat's milk. I never tried it myself but used a bunch of it with young puppies.
    They like it. LOL

You buying whole striploin/ribeye with cap? Hella cheaper than buying precut stuff and you customize thickness with or without fat cap.

Meathead reacted to Geezy in herbal supplements for constipation?
In the beginning my issue was not constipation but just the opposite but after thirty days it turned into constipation. When I felt it coming on I’d use a suppository. If it was going to be really bad I’d use an herbal laxative tea. I found that to be more proactive taking a supplement of magnesium citrate kept me soft but I wasn’t pleased with the results so I found a magnesium complex that had citrate in it but the other ingredients helped to keep things more normal.
My system is slowly becoming normal I think because I’m staring to get looser so I’m cutting back on the magnesium to every other day and see what happens.

Do you usually take these herbal supplements? If so, continuing to do so while you're transitioning you should be fine. If you are trying to heal some chronic health issue you may want to try and wean yourself off them in due time, just in case any plant toxins in these herbs are actually triggering your issues.
Carnivore dieters usually find that fat keeps the bowels moving. If the stools are hard, add more fat to your meals. If the stools are too soft, back off the fat a bit.
    Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard ibo. Glad you found us.
Everyone gn has been spot on with their advice so I have nothing to add there.
As far as artificial sweeteners it’s an individual thing. Some people can tolerate things like that and can moderate them but for me I have to constantly abstain or it will cause cravings in me. As a carb addict I have to stay away from anything sweet. I even have to be careful of dairy because of its sweetness.
You asked about hotdogs. When it comes to processed meats you need to read the ingredients labels and try to find the cleanest you can. Many have sugars and grain fillers in them. Now if it’s all a person can afford then it’s still a thousand times better that any carbohydrate you could eat. I personally don’t eat them but if I was on the road and needed something to eat and all there was available was hotdogs I wouldn’t hesitate to chow down on some and be thankful to have them.
    Good luck and good health.

Well today's surgery went well and unfortunately forced to take pain medication and antibiotics via IV.
I did learn they have to manage pain even though you're unconscious as they're on 2 different spectrum of each other.
Regardless hospital staff were a breath of fresh air especially @ 5 am.
Pain meds from hospital wearing off and pain is a bit annoying like when your insides gurgling before you have explosive diarrhea.
Once I heal up I'm going back to flat stomach.

    Hello and welcome aboard.
I compare your statement to giving heroin addict Narcan so they can keep doing heroin.
You're on the right path starting carnivore.
    1. Electrolytes = Redmond real salt,Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt mixed with your water daily.
    2. Fatty meats as fat is where you get most of your energy.
    3. Eat until you don't want to put more food into your body.
    4. Keep plenty of meats yes even hotdogs, spam something you can snack on just in case.
    5. Rinse and repeat.
Don't worry so much about supplements or anything until you have blood work done (thorough).

Meathead got a reaction from Geezy in Mucus in stool
    Hi and welcome aboard.
Your question and background is VERY vague.  With the information provided it's difficult to think about answering.
More detailed information provided the easier to get an answer.

    From googling.....

Mucus in stool can occur due to a number of possible reasons, including:

    Normal amount
A small amount of mucus in stool is normal and helps keep the colon lubricated.

    Intestinal infection
A large amount of mucus in stool, especially when accompanied by diarrhea, could be a sign of an intestinal infection. Infections can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites, and can lead to other symptoms like fever, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

    Food intolerance or allergy
Food sensitivities can cause inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to excess mucus.

    Dehydration
Dehydration can cause excess mucus in stool, but it usually goes away on its own.

    Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
This functional gastrointestinal disorder can cause changes in bowel habits and mucus in stool.

    Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
These inflammatory bowel diseases can cause mucus in stool, and bloody mucus or mucus with abdominal pain may be a sign of a more serious condition.

    Colon cancer
A noticeable increase in mucus in stool, especially if accompanied by other symptoms, could be a sign of bowel cancer.

If you're concerned about the amount of mucus in your stool, or if you're experiencing other symptoms, you should consult your doctor.

    Hope this helps.

I've used under 40 lbs of pellets for smoking 28 hrs, grilling steaks octopus and burgers tastes better than propane.
Since it heats up fast, I don't empty hopper cooking every day.  The electric is minimal.
Empty hopper is a 30 minute preheat.

The more you can eliminate, the better.
For the record, I still drink diet soda and occasionally (not daily) chew gum. I still lost a ton of weight and reversed several of my health issues, save one. I would try to lose the gum chewing though. That satisfies a fixation for snacking and tasting something sweet, both of which you want to conquer. Plus, overdoing it on the artificial sweeteners found in chewing gum will cause gas and digestive upset.
The diet soda is more benign, but can still be an addiction. And it may trigger a cephalic phase insulin response - although with you being a type 2 diabetic, this probably isn't an issue. And not all artificial sweeteners do this for everybody, and not everybody has this response.
The more health issues you want/need to fix, the more strict you want to be for 30, 60, or 90 days (the more the better). If you're generally healthy, you can take a more carnivore-centric, carnivor-ish, meat-based keto approach.

Couldn’t wait for it to grow back to help hide that turkey neck and not to mention some of the ugly.

You could try eating alot of protein before fasting.
I never thought I would make it not being hungry past 3 hours.  Just before my 90 days doing carnivore I did a 60 hr fast, I broke it because I was super bored and 60 hrs was a milestone for me.
