It is difficult for me to eat meat that has only been seasons with salt and pepper.  I usually use onions (lots of them, maybe 1 large onion to 1 pound of meat), garlic and ginger.  Would that mess up the CD "magic"?

It would not be ideal but if you need that to get yourself to a better place, by all means that can be your path.

Not exactly the same but along the same lines. I thought I went cold turkey on sugar when I started but I had never been much on drinking just water. I used drink mixers the first couple three months. There were some hidden sugars in the packets and over time I worked myself off the mixers and now it is plain water.

I didn't realize I was doing it at the time, but I was weaning myself off of sugar thinking I went cold turkey.

That process worked for me. Now I am a zero sugar-zero carb eater but a mistake I made early on allowed me to get to this point.

I am sure the Carnivore Police will frown upon the onions and garlic but if you use it as a tool to get to a better place, well, you getting to a better place is the object of the game.

No carnivore police around here and definitely no judgement.
Will it spoil the magic? Probably not in small quantities. It’s definitely not carnivore but it would be considered ketovore or keto depending on how many carbohydrates you are consuming. Many people do great just eating a keto diet and are able to maintain a state of ketosis and still reap many of the benefits we get from carnivore.
The big difference is when those who eat keto just can’t get over a stall or some physical condition that can’t be overcome they find that eating a pure carnivore diet will help them.
I have found that the longer I’m carnivore the more I enjoy the natural taste in the meats I eat. I’ve also come to the conclusion that I eat for fuel and not pleasure so that makes a big difference in my mindset and how I approach food. If something does not provide nutrition for my body then I figure why eat it.
Enjoyed the onions and what ever else you use as long as there are no adverse effects. But if you encounter problems then that would be the first place to look.

Eating for fuel is something I grew up with since childhood.

My Pops would always say things like, "Eat you breakfast we have pour concrete/frame a house/lay shingles/fix a truck". You name it.

We would eat our big family Sunday dinner after church and he would always say things like, "Eat up, we got a long 40 hours this week".

I think that is why I grew up to be such a boring eater. I never needed the variety, and I don't remember ever being excited about a new restaurant or trying something new.

I think being a boring eater really helped me shift to Carnivore. It was perceived as fuel for a bunch of years and now I see it as fuel.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
