Cure Ulcerative Colitis with a Carnivore Diet!

I was an ulcerative colitis sufferer for around 10 years. I was always told by my medical professionals that the cause of ulcerative colitis is unknown, and that there is no cure, and that one must manage the disease with prescription medications for the rest of their life. It was even suggested that I have my colon removed surgically. I was told "diet has nothing to do with it" and that I can continue eating anything I want. Now I know that sentence should have continued with "...as long as you keep taking these pills that I'm prescribing to you." Things finally came to a head, and I had to do my own research, and now I am 5 years off my meds and there is no longer any trace of the disease. I cured ulcerative colitis! Here's how.

This is actually the accomplishment that I am most proud of. The one thing that was destroying my life that I did completely resolve. Cured the "incurable". And then the views are "meh", lol.

My deteriorating health all goes back to coffee.

Coffee -> Colitis -> Mesalamine (prescription drug) -> Mesalamine destroys kidneys -> Stage 4CKD -> High triglycerides -> Niacin (for trigs) -> Rhabdomyolisis (from Niacin)-> inching closer to stage 5 CKD.

    Kinda sucks.

    • Thanks for the comments. I've been back without variance. But yeah, the main question was whether or not I would be off ketosis and for how long. I'm not trying to lose weight, as I'm a very small, short guy and weight has never been a problem. My main objective was to lower my BP without medication. No change on that yet.
    • This is my favorite saying, I think. Except, in the Navy my Dive School Instructor use to say, "There is no such thing as a stupid question only stupid people that ask questions". Brings back memories. Scott

    • I'm no expert in any field, but I have a small jar with some hard earned kidney stones in it. And have had a few bouts with gout. (poet? ha ) Haven't had any since the late 20teens when I started bettering my diet with keto then on to karnivore. Gout is like having a kidney stone in your foot, only you don't get the prize when it's over. Maybe I've never had the actual dumping, but I do know I no longer have aches in my feet or joints.
    • Welcome aboard @Kyle Katarn. Can you please give us some background of yourself?  What's your WHY for starting carnivore?   @Geezy pretty much summed it up,  this is a lifestyle we adopted to better our health physically and mentally.  The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.  So don't be afraid to ask questions or pose your concerns.
