I think it was Dr. Berry I heard say that there is no such thing as pre diabetes. You’ve either got it or you don’t

I I thought Texas had quick changing weather.
We have a saying down here, “If you don’t like the weather now just go inside for 15 minutes and then come back outside, it’ll change”. But I think y’all got us beat.

Stalls are perfectly normal as our bodies adapt to eating this way. Sometimes it’s just part of the healing process. In my journey to where I’m at now I hit two big stalls that lasted three months each. I didn’t do anything to trigger or trick the body into more weight loss. I just continued on the same path and eventually it kicked back in.
As Dr. Chaffee says “You walked 10 miles in, you’ve got to walk 10 miles out.”

    The same here.
They all seemed to take a break at the same time but once you mention, fried chicken, BBQ chicken, baked chicken, broiled chicken, grilled chicken they understand break time is over.

I recently noticed 2 things in my Zero Carb Carnivore Lifestyle. Most everyone experiences the Dawn Effect, a natural rise in one's Blood Glucose Level in the early morning. Part of waking up.
    1. Sometimes my rise is small, maybe 15 or so and goes down to normalize 30 b to 45 minutes.
    2. Even my big Dawn Effect , like 30 to 40 mg/dL, returns to normal in a similar fashion.
As one eats the appropriate human diet our bodies go better !
A side note: my 7 day, average BGL continues to drop, 94 this morning ! Look out 85, here i come.

That 99 is down to 96. Don't you just love it! My PCP does not know what to think, other than this must be dangerous and I'm going to have a stroke.

Possibly nothing. How long did it take to get from 300 to 250? Sometimes we hit plateaus for several weeks and then things pick up again. Oftentimes during stalls people will still report healing or body recomposition, etc.
Can you think of anything in your habits that may have changed? Have you increased fat or upped your portions? How soon after eating your OMAD do you go to bed?
There are a couple possibilities here, and the same approach might be warranted for both.
    1) Your body has adapted/adjusted to your new pattern, i.e. your metabolism has reset itself based on your current food intake. This is why some people can literally consume only 800 calories a day and still not lose weight. The body down-regulates energy usage to conserve because it thinks there is a famine.
The solution might be to either cut back on food or fat, OR keep the body guessing by maybe throwing a day or two in there where you eat 2 meals instead of one, OR throw in a fasting day, etc.
    2) You required more energy when you were 300 lbs than you do now at 250 lbs. You've lost 17% of your body mass. That means your basal metabolic rate (energy needed just to keep cells alive) is 17% less than before.
The solution here might be to reduce food/fat intake, OR add some extra activity, whether that's running, walking, lifting, etc.

Thats funny at sad at the same time. Funny because of the gleeful ignorance and sad that he was shooting at something he couldn’t identify. Broke one of the rules of safe gun handling and safe hunting but yeah, it’s still pretty funny since nobody suffered but the Guineas.
I’ve run over several in my area. Unlike chicken ms they will just dart outta nowhere like they are trying to tackle you. It doesn’t end well for them.

I know several people who raise them. When my friend has an over abundance of eggs he’ll give them to me. The eggs are small but they are good.

The sad issue here is that many drugs are pushed to market without enough testing nowadays. The end user, the patient, is the long term test.
These drugs in this class are very profitable. New versions will come along and prices will decrease. A few years ago insulins were very pricy and profitable. New manufacturers entered the market, price dropped from 800 dollars a month to 100 dollars.

Muscle loss and bone density issues. The regain will be mostly fat.
If a person can use the GLP-1, get in a sustainable lifestyle, both diet and exercise, to sustain the loss of weight then I think the medicine could be used. The problem is that it is the 'miracle' drug as of late and there is no lifestyle change which cripples sustainability.
I'm sure there will be a nice lawsuit in the coming years.

I did in the beginning. I went to youtube and made an electrolyte solution but that has faded in time.
I now mix up several different salts in a plastic bowl, hake and then use as table salt.
When I fast for more than 72 hours I eat it by a few pinches here and there throughout the day.
I don't put the salt in my water because I don't like the taste.

Every other American is pre type 2, type 2, or one of those undiagnosed. Dr. Ken Berry estimates 70 % of all PCP can not diagnose T2DM properly. It costs 1.5 Billion dollars per day. Is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease. If T2DM was contagious., the streets would be empty. It increases by a percent or two every year. Likely to hit 60% in 2030. A leg is amputated from a diabetic every 4 minutes. Toes every 2 minutes.
That's what it really is. The ADA has not had any positive effect , ever. The Ketogenic diet is the most studied dirt for T2DM.

    Just the facts, people

I watch Tony Hampton every morning. Was a good post. I left a comment there. I forget who regulates CGM and other Glucose meter accuracy. They have to show a an accuracy of plus or minus 12%. so if device says 100, a blood lab needs to be between 88 and 112. Manufacturers file regular reports.

Being that new to carnivore the most logical reason you were have energy issues is your body had not adapted to burning fat for energy. It was still wanting carbs to burn.
It can take some time before we become fully adapted and until it happens you’ve just got to tough it out. It’s part of what many in the community call the keto flu. Some people don’t do well going cold turkey into carnivore and need to ease into it by being keto first and then tapering down to carnivore. I’m a jump in with both feet kind of guy so I went hard core from the beginning and I experienced what you did but I just powered through it.
As far as the weight loss and you being already slightly built the question would be what is your built like? You may be slim but are you an athletic built slim or are you a weak slim. If you are skinny-fat then it would make sense that you were losing. If you are athletic then you may not be eating enough.
To calculate protein needs, one should aim for approximately 1 gram to 1.2 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass and an equal amount of fat. This approach is suitable for individuals seeking to maintain or gain weight and muscle mass. Protein requirements may vary based on factors such as age, activity level, and individual metabolic health.
Fat (or lipids) - 9 calories per gram.
Proteins - 4 calories per gram

Now I never counted anything myself. I just made sure everything I ate was cooked in animal fats and any rendered fat was poured back over the meat like a gravy. If the meat is lean then I’ll eat butter with every bite of meat.
Good luck and welcome to Carnivore Talk.

I like this method. It's easy to get a controlled medium/rare roast or steak. This time I let the meat cool down in snow after bath, so it did not get any more done when I seared it on a very hot cast iron pan.

    Yep.
I'm right back at it just about immediately after. I am guessing everyone's plans have obstacles and bumps in the road.
Luckily mine are very minor and sort of funny and not all that impactful (except for the first ten minutes with the guy on the porch).
Last night at work we were talking about carnivore and fasting and I made mention that I have one employee that could single handedly stop my fasting. It is hard to fast when presented with a huge, very well prepared tomahawk steak, coupled with the appreciation I had for it being a 'show of appreciation by my shift'.
    Sort of babbling.
Just a quick post this morning to wind down from nights.

When switching from a standard American diet to carnivore the difference between regular meat and grass-fed meat is minimal, minimal at best.
Grass-fed, free-range and organic are often used as misleading terms.
I would not eliminate eggs as they are just about nature's most perfect food. I eat fish and seafood for a couple three days each month.
I do agree it is an elimination diet but there is no need to eliminate chicken or pork or seafoods.
As far as 'good quality meats' I hit the bo-bo sections of meat whenever I can. I'm the guy that buys up all the reduced meats in one fell swoop.
