So far I'm zero for 5,  including my wife and father,   oh well maybe one day.

My son introduced me to the diet. he has been on and off about three times. Currently off.

My wife tried it twice lasting about a week to ten days each time.

We rode side by sides in West Virginia last fall and I had many conversations with the guys that rode. 

We are having a Super Bowl party out in the cabin and one of the guys out there is one of the ones in the discussion in the fall. He is now thirty pounds lighter, some inflammation is gone and is back to running a couple three miles a few times per week. He has slightly modified his diet to line up with his wife's keto efforts. He has used chatGPT to build a weekly diet and a weekly shopping list to hit his goals of protein consumption, fat and the minimal carbs. He is much deeper into the science than I am and was schooling me on a lot of things today. 

I'm 0 for 2 at my house, but one for two outside the house.

I think I'm learning diets are belief systems.  Yesterday I asked my dad to look into the carnivore diet.  He told me, he doesn't believe in not eating vegetables.  I guess I'm cold blooded but at this point I don't feel like bringing it up again to him or anyone else.  

I don’t even try. Nobody really wants to hear anything about it unless they ask. 
Most people would rather put on blinders, satisfy their carbohydrate addiction and just take a pill to fix their diet related illnesses. 
If you try to talk to people about it without them asking you about it first you will just alienate them. 
The best thing you can do is just be a good example. When people see the changes in you they will be naturally curious as to how you did it. Some will be genuinely receptive but most will immediately close their minds because of years of brainwashing. 
For those that are receptive then ease them into it and don’t overwhelm them with facts and figures. Offer to educate them with books and videos about carnivore and offer to coach them if they want to learn more. 
For the closed minded just leave them be. 
My classic story of trying to help someone unsolicited was when a good family friend had an autoimmune disorder causing a terrible skin rash. We were visiting her on her birthday and she was complaining about how bad the rash was and she couldn’t get any sleep or relief. I kept my mouth shut until she said “ It’s a good thing I don’t own a gun or we wouldn’t be having this morning.” Well when someone starts talking like that I figured it’s time to step in. So I told her about carnivore being able to heal her autoimmune condition and giving her relief. Her reaction, as she took a drink of her Spite, was “ There’s no way I could give up my hamburgers.”
Conclusion , no matter how bad off they are some just won’t be willing to change.

Agreed. Belief systems and habits. 

There was a meme and maybe it was here, not sure. When you bring up Carnivore, standing in front of them in better health/lost weight, and they are eating a super-sized meal from a fast-food joint with a mongo sized soft drink, and all of a sudden, they become a nutritionist or a doctor. These will always be a hard sell.

As a Type 1 Diabetic I consider a lot of Carnivores are mere tourists. You came around, heard of this new fad, and decided to try it 

but as a T1D the dedication deepens, drastically. As a t1d the food restrictions list goes up up up. The food rules border on highly difficult 

the addictions are closer related to the disease

But I hope to make some life changing improvements by learning here

No. I won't tell a grown adult what to eat. Nor will I turn what I eat in a theological experience. The louder you speak, the less it works. 

Look good, feel good. Then when someone asks, explain how.

Well said. And they expect that quick result. Those are the crowd that one a magic pill. No magic to be found here. 

But when your back is against the wall, and carnivore is your last chance, as opposed to a lifetime of medication and procedures, that when there's nothing but hard work left. 

Like people attempting to go to the gym. They wait for motivation to carry them through, or want someone to go with them. You do these things alone, and share them with others that do the same.

Yes, back up food, survival food, secondary. But in abundance....oh boy we've seen the havoc that can do on a population. Specifically when you consider that most plant foods are or poisonous, or are genetically altered to be more sugary, starchy, etc. It should not be a problem to have a bit of garlic, or an avocado, etc. it shouldn't be considered some sort of sin. What's next, the carnivore's creed?

To most people, that may be so. Of course we know this not to be true. It's when one identifies oneself with one's opinion. We tend to wrap our identity around what we do.

There is some truth to that. I have foraged for food just as the Indians, before the Europeans arrived, and as the mountain man did after that. Meat has always been the priority for man’s food. Plants were for seasoning or for times of lean when meat couldn’t be found.

Fruits were seasonal and only available for a short time each year.

I can see that for those just looking to just lose weight but for me and many others carnivore isn’t a fad at all. We came to this WOE out of desperation to fix ourselves and heal. I was laying on a gurney while a team of doctors and nurses were trying to get my heart back in rhythm when I knew that my life had to change because I was dying.

My motivation and commitment to this lifestyle is as strong as anyone’s, I can guarantee that. That’s why I’m so strict and never cheat. 
This isn’t a diet, it a lifestyle and yes, I do identify by what I do. I don’t eat carnivore, I am carnivore.

It's like telling someone how to raise their kids. You know they are terrible, but it isn't not on the table for discussion. Hey, you tried to help, that is commendable. 

Of course I am less than two weeks into this endeavor, so no I haven't.

There will certainly come a time when someone will notice that I have lost 20 lbs and ask a question.  It is then that I will share my story.  They can choose what they do with that.

It’s absolutely incredible that some people would rather be miserable and die young rather than just change their diet.
I’ve encountered this exact thing myself with someone who was so miserable they talked of self elimination but when I suggested a diet change their response was that they couldn’t give up their hamburgers. Oh well, thats when you drop the subject and move on and leave them to their misery.

I'm just 9 months in so I still don't refer to it as my lifestyle. Maybe I get there, maybe I don't. Time will tell. 

I'm sort of the odd man out as I did only come to carnivore as a weight loss approach. I did look at it as the next fad diet coming down the pipe. I also felt like it would be like any other diet that drops the weight, the life choices change and the weight comes right back, usually with a few extra of his friends (pounds). I had zero expectations for any other benefits than to drop a few pounds. 

If someone had told me before I started that eating meat, salt and water would take me off medicine I had been on/depended on for more than 6 years I would have reacted the same as most of the people we talk to about carnivore. "Yeah, right". 

People are most interested in the weight loss because that is what they can see and I re-enforced that with the 90+ pound weight loss over the last 9 months. But when I explain that it has taken me off medicine that was going to be lifelong, I sort of lose them. That gets me back to your original point. I tell them my story and what they do with that is up to them.

right now I do carnivore but I’m using spices for flavoring my soups

Black pepper (probably have a slight allergy to this) but also ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt. This is great flavor but I do need to go on full elimination diet soon

yeah I’ve told people for years already that all the plants at grocery stores are basically poisonous with hidden chemicals. People don’t like to be told the truth about it

Most people rather die in comfort, that live with challenge. An easy life, versus the strength to endure a hard one. To each their own, I'm sure.
