So I’m a chronic relapser on carbs and booze too. I can go 5-7 days on a strict carnivore diet and suddenly I throw it all away

booze

weed, gave me terrible munchies

Led to 2 double cheeseburgers

fries

Super sweet coconut pastries

basically just completely overdoing it like a carb junky on a bender..

then after the next day hangover I go back on a restrictive diet like carnivore

but I face relapses and when I relapse I just say forget this, and I go all out binge on carbs

i think the weed made me eat burgers, it made me super hungry for burgers!!

the weed was for the hangover from the boozy night before. It set off a chain reaction that led to burgers and fries and ultimately and bunch of pastries

Im not a very disciplined carni

plus I am a type 1 diabetic so I truly can’t be eating extremely high carb anything

and I shouldn’t be drinking booze either but it’s for the stress

Sorry to hear your plight.  I had drug addictions, key word had.   If you are working see if your work offers counseling.  If not find AA meetings and start sharing your story there. You have to learn

  • I think you’re right. Pot is bad stuff for me. I used it as a hangover cure, and last time it gave me super munchies. it was something terrible  doesn’t help I live in a major foodie neighborhood

I pity men today trying to find a good woman.  with family law and entitled women being what they are a lot of guys are simply saying no thanks to marriage. I for one wouldn't blame them in the least.

Try being a single guy with dating nowadays. the main hobby single women have is going to the new restaurants and being “a foodie”. Especially when the restaurant foods are overpriced and they use seed oils and who knows what else

women have to go out to the new restaurants to get selfies to show everyone online how they went to a restaurant lol

Every woman’s dating profile says “I’m a foodie” “I like tacos”

Yeah I keep relapsing. It’s more of an alcohol addiction thing, where I get a sort of anxiety feeling about once every 4 days that leads me to drink booze

At least I pick plain booze with no carbs? lol

my new strategy prioritizes getting more sleep and avoiding stress. There’s some discomfort/anxiety I need to work through without reaching for a bottle

but also, steak and eggs gets boring after a while. It gets tiresome and time consuming to cook food every day, then clean up

but this winter I have made some amazing hot soups. Yeah I boil steaks in water to make beef broth and near the end I add eggs to make an egg drop broth soup. Then lastly I add plenty of butter

i do the same with shrimp. These hot clear broths with butter added are great

it still gets boring

Consider this, food may not be boring if you do not consider it a form of entertainment. And this is how we are conditioned to see food.

The drink is tricky. Maybe tapering down slowly? I've heard stopping cold turkey is not a good thing to begin with.

The reducing stress and focus on sleep is an excellent strategy.

Could you not choose a day where you just fry up some burger paddies so you can microwave them later? To minimize boredom, perhaps some different spices on each?

Lastly, being healthy is boring. Being unhealthy and addicted is not. Perhaps this statement shifts that view on what boring really is. Change the way you look at things, and you may be able to deal with boring.

People say they're a foodie. But they'll never say that they're a druggie.

No kidding right. Online dating is extremely bad on mental health. I had to delete my account this morning because it triggers alcoholism lol

Men that skipped the online dating app era won in the game of dating. The apps poisoned relationships

women are addicted to the unbelievable amount of endless attention they receive from online dating and sugar daddy apps they do that on the lowdown to afford more expensive lifestyles

when you meet a woman from online dating she’s likely been out with hundreds of men if not thousands. They will serial date guys for breakfast lunch dinner drinks and anything else

I for one wouldn't blame them in the least. Try finding a woman that is willing to go 50/50 on dates. they insist they're strong and independent and don't need a man until the bill comes.

I don’t get the boring thing. I’ve never gotten bored eating this way but I think it’s because I do cook a lot of different meats in a lot of different ways so I’ve got a lot of variety. We are only limited by our imagination.
I’m an old fart so the whole dating scene these days is nuts but I can tell you this, there is no woman worth me wrecking my health over. My bride and I have been together for 42 years but I wouldn’t change my diet for her or anyone else.

That’s what the restaurants are doing: they sell addictive food. Lots of carbs and lots of hidden ingredients to make it more addictive than the restaurants next door

as a Type 1 Diabetic I am more tuned in with what they are doing than most people. And I live in a food mecca full of restaurants, bars and cafes.

they are all basically Carbohydrate dealers but you won’t see the full picture as a non diabetic because one French fry won’t mess you up and you are not connected to a blood glucose monitor that clearly displays the spikes in blood sugar after eating this kind of stuff

but it doesn’t mean these restaurants are not basically drug dealers of carbohydrate rich and addictive foods

That awareness becomes a blessing. With my auto-immune disease I quickly figured out what some food did to me. You start looking at food differently, because you have a direct, almost immediate response to it. While normal folk can eat it for years before the health consequences take their toll. Type 2 diabetes, for instance.
