My daughter is two months in on carnivore. She's eating to satiety, no dairy, just beef, butter, pork and eggs, she's working out, she feels good mentally and emotionally. BUT, she's gaining weight. And, she started out wanting to lose weight. At first it seemed like she was losing a little. But now she's been gaining. She's eating three meals a day (she's nursing her 20 month old twins and when she eats less or skips a meal she's hungry). She could lose 10-20 pounds and look good.

Any suggestions??

She said she's getting pudgier around the middle. She supplements with breast feeding but they're little carnivores! She was 139 pounds when she started, was 143 the other day, and is now 142. She's 5'4". She used to be slender, now she's at the very highest of what would be considered healthy for her height. Plus, she doesn't want to be "fat."

Could be due to nursing. I'm sure hormonal stuff is going on on top of that. Once milk production stops, that is when I would be worried, then again, I have never produced milk, so I was never worried haha.

Way too many factors going on to know for sure.
Nursing a baby. Hormonal changes from childbirth. Hormones in general. Recovery from childbirth. Any or all could be the culprit.
Woman often have trouble in the beginning of carnivore just because of their hormones. Look up Kelly Hogan on Utube. She didn’t start losing weight until she was six months on carnivore but she was in it to heal so she stuck it out and it paid off for her.

My advice would be to just keep eating a proper human diet as it’s best for the baby’s nourishment and give her body more time to heal at least until she’s no longer nursing.

Thank you, that’s helpful. Especially hearing about Kelly Hogan.

Definitely no experience here.

From the outside looking in I would say keep eating the proper diet and let the priority be nursing. Sometimes stepping on the scales is for aesthetics and a shift up can be disheartening.

I would say eat the proper diet, skip the scales and nurse.

I feel like it will work out in time. Best of luck, and congratulations.
