Don't be in a hurry losing weight. It's a slow process. Took you years to become over weight, have patience. You wanna get down there healthily. You wanna build muscle, let our body adjust (metabolism).

possibly use some whey isolate

Remember, too much protein may also stall weight loss. Carnivore should give you more than enough amino acids.

Im going to get my numbers together and start a calorie cycling program, basically 3 days of maintenance calories and four days of slightly lower than maintenance calories. because my body has almost come to a stop eating at a deficit everyday. that means here comes the protein powder and milk.

Gonna be honest here. And I'll wish you but the best of luck. But that sounds like a very challenging way to lose fat. I'll be happy to see when you prove my wrong though.

Its really not so much about the counting but "tricking" your metabolism so it doesn't slow down over the long run. At least thats how I understand it. I hope you don't mind me asking you questions about fitness pal if the time comes.  As far as this program being challenging, not so much because the types of food we eat is so limited.  for example I already know how many calories are in my cup of coffee. Now i just have to weigh the beef I consume and track cups of milk, eggs, bacon, butter and that's basically it plus any odds and ends items. I suppose carrying a phone and entering the items/weight on a tracker may be easier than using paper and pen.

Yes, phone is going to be your friend. But don't count calories, just track macros, that will eventually decide your metabolism. Also, muscle mass, build muscle, hypertrophy heavy lifting. The more muscle you have, the less you need to concern yourself with metabolic rate, or calories for that matter.

I've eaten 700 calories above my daily intake for 3 weeks and did not gain one pound. That is how reliable counting calories is. At least when it comes to carnivore.

Could it have been your actual "believed" daily needs were over estimated?  I used a calorie calculator to "estimate" my daily need,  I know that is not an exact number for me. But I believe I can get a pretty good number looking at my results after a month or so.

It wasn't close. I have counted calories for 10 years. I was 148lbs. and needed about 2100 calories based on activities. Looking back it seems I wasted time. But that is just my experience. I had been using that app for almost 10 years.

The thing is, your not counting calories, but carbs. It's really the amount of carbs that make us change weight. Thing is out the window when eating keto/carnivore. And within 2 months I went down to 132lbs. at 11% body fat/shredded. By excluding carbs it's almost if my body knew what weight I should be. I have maintained 132lbs. for over 6 months now, no matter what I do. Like I have stated, I tried to GAIN weight by eating 3000 calories, but to no avail. I may have gained a pound, maybe.

My body is happy at where its at, whether I like it or not. I do also feel good, not weak, not tired, etc.  So fine by me.

this should be fun. I tracked everything I ate today. and maybe i can get that app loaded tomorrow.  I have a feeling Im gonna have to drink some calories. but I love milk so that shouldn't be a problem. Just got a powertec lever gym today 🤪.  so Im pretty stoked.

I was watching a video today from Max German and his little trick to get help him drop a few and get shredded is to go what he calls fat cycling.  He eats three meals a day. The first meal is his normal high fat to protein ratio. The second meal is moderate fat and his last meal is very low fat and mostly protein.

That is known as your optimal weight.

It is believed that if you just eat a proper diet then the body will eventually settle into its optimal weight.

My last 4 weeks at a weight lose stall kinda leads me to believe that my metabolic rate tries to align the best it can with my calorie intake.  I think we have a metabolic "brain" that acts in its own self interest and wants to be in a homeostasis environment.  So shocking the metabolism with seemingly random inputs could cause a disruption of some kind. At least that is what a calorie cycle is said to do.  I guess Ill find out.  All I know is extreme calorie deficits sucks after a about three weeks.
