We were at a cookout last week and had the brats and hotdogs from this place. They were very good. We will be checking out their store next week. It's only a few towns away (20 miles) and I never knew it even existed. Sounds like it's been there for years. Go figure, Ey.

And the best on is in my back yard. From pasture to pit to table all within a few hundred yards.

Well, doctors are here to keep us confused and extract money from us through itemized bills. They may also attempt to help you, but that is secondary. They may try to help you based on out-dated and pharmaceutical based funded education.

on my last yearly exam with my Neurologist for my MS, I informed her that I was not going to be continuing with the Copaxone injections I have been taking for the last several years. She said "that's fine, but have you considered taking Ampyra to help with your walking?". I told her that I was not interested in using ANY more medications. It's like are just trading one drug for another. I feel just by her comments alone that she is truly interested in my health and does not want to see me trip and hurt myself, but these drugs come with too many risks and side effects for me to be comfortable taking them. I'm sure she has to comply with her clinics "Standard of care" and has no choice in the madder. We have NEVER once discussed diet or anything about what I consume for nutrition! SO SAD! Next year is going to be medicare for me which will probably be even worse. I'm dreading it already and it's 11 months away.

I thought it was liver that caused gout?......

Myths and folklore have become quite entertaining over the past year on carnivore.

A friend of mine at work has kidney stones somewhat regularly. His doctor told him it was the soft drinks/sweet teas (sugars). I can't say that is not true but I can say I was drinking 4-6 sometimes 8 20oz Mountain Dews a day, plus a couple glasses of Pepsi or sweet tea at night. I have never had a kidney stone.

I am not much on liver, beef, chicken or pork, but I do buy it for the dogs on occasion. Three-four five times I have been at the counter with a couple-three packs and there will be an older lady telling me to be careful, liver causes the gout. Again, never had gout and don't like liver, so maybe it is so, maybe it is not.

As of late I'm choosing not to dismiss the 'medicinal folklore' though, because it seems in a lot of cases we have outsmarted ourselves in current times.

My uncle and an old boss of mine both would (and still) suffer from gout to the point that they could not even walk and would say to never eat shrimp because it causes gout. After educating myself with a few Dr Berry videos, I now just 🤣 to myself whenever I hear that or some other crazy ideas floating around out in the ozone. I had what a doctor called gout once about 50 years ago when I was a teenager and they gave me some kind of a pill to take. That time in my life was an extremely high carb intake period. Doughnuts, several bottles of coke per day, candy of any type, Etc, Etc...... We were all there at one time in our lives, but NO MORE for this fellow. Always trying to stay as close to zero carbs as I can. I do fall off the carny wagon a few times per year but then jump right up, dust myself off and get back to the business of eating meat! Whenever I do fall off the wagon it seems to motivate me to try even harder to stay on course. I will not beat myself up when it happens. That's just life!

I’m on Medicare. It’s about the same. I have to go in for a check up more often but that gives me an opportunity to monitor how my eating is affecting my metabolism. I’ve got all of the same doctors as what I had before Medicare. My PCP is still ignorant but I put up with him and keep trying to educate him.
