Daily Chat and Progress Check-In for February 2026

02/01/2026. I am currently 69 1/2 years of age. Been improving my health for 55 months. I eat a Ketogenic Diet that is as close as I can get to Zero carbs each day. My last health issue is Diabetes. I was diagnosed T2DM on May 4, 1992. I am allergic to most diabetic drugs. I eat one meal a day (OMAD) . I mostly eat Beef, Bacon, Butter, and Eggs (BBBE).

I maintain my Blood Glucose Level at <130 mg/dL. I currently inject 25 units of long acting Lantus Insulin once a day ar the same time every day. For 5 months previous I was using a 50 unit dose. I no longer use any rapid, short term acting insulin. Beginning today I am exercising more. My reduced my Insulin dose from 50bunits per day, after 5 weeks of not drinking Coke Zero. I do not know if there is a relationship there. This is a very recent change.

I have no kidney or eye issues from being diabetic. I do have mild to moderate foot neuropathy. And I do have Chronic Venous insufficiency.

I wear a Libre 2 Plus Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). Using its reports, i make decisions on my Insulin dose and how what I eat and how my activity effects my BGL.

I will soon do blood work labs to see how much insulin I am producing, certain enzyme analysis, and other tests. Hope to answer if am LADA, often called type 1.5 diabetes.

I do supplement with D3/K2, Iodine, and Co-Q-10. I have a 6 month follow up appointment with an Endocrinologist in early April.

Ok. I got a plan. Exercise is increasing. It is a zero carb life as per usual. Coke Zero is still in the rear view mirror. So in January I used no Rapid Acting insulin abd cut the long acting insulin from 50 units a day to 25 units a day. Looking forward to more positive results in February. Just have to wait and see how it goes. Be well, may u heal.

Good to hear.

My February will be the same as January, somewhat strict carnivore, mostly red meat, salt and water. I'm trying to eat 10-12 eggs per day with as much beef as I can get down to get to 180-200 grams pf protein.

I'm never hungry so this is a struggle.

I am seeing results in the gym. As the young folks in the gym tells me, 'the plates don't lie'. I'm increasing weight on most every exercise but I have also limited some of that progress because an injury at 56 is way different than 26 or 36. I am limiting the progress to an extent.

February will be like January as I am trying to get stronger, if there is some muscle growth then that is cool too, just looking for some muscle mass and some strength increases.

At the end of February I am going to drop back to my regular carnivore approach and pretty much just eat when I am hungry. Prior to this that was OMAD to OMAD and a half. After forcing myself to eat to a protein target I wonder where my eating pattern will naturally land. Time will tell.

I don't have blood work til March and again in May.

It takes 12 to 36 hourb to settle itself out. Just the way it usually happens. The actual BGL is likely in between the highs and lows

We all are just a bit different to some degree. It is the bell curve, most of us are under it somewhere perhaps under one of the tails I react negatively to many drugs. Particularly T2DM and statin meds. Negative side effects. So I have c e to do the more natural, holistic, and simpler way. So this has landed me to a Ketogenic Diet, usually and mostly BBBE. My main objective is to control my Blood Glucose Level, BGL. The side effects are nice and include no joint pain, no skin issues, no heartburn, no sleep apnea, overall I feel better. No negative effects for a journey of 55 months.

My Blood Glucose Level is regulated by a Ketogenic Diet and 25 units of Long Acting Lantus Insulin a day (down from 50 units) My 90 day Blood Glucose average is 114 mg/dL. Ranging between 70 to130, 95 percent of the time. My focus in February is increasing my exercise.

Results are slow, but are steady. My journey began at age 65, far to late. Life is better and the prospects look decent long term

For me, this is the only path that has worked i look forward to mor positive results in 2026. You all be well.
