I’ve noticed several newcomers to this lifestyle tend to get confused about what they can eat or get bored with just eating the same old thing over and over and then there’s some that just don’t have much imagination around food and in the kitchen.

Well this is a thread for everyone to post what they eat each day.

It doesn’t matter if it’s something you eat day in and day out or if it’s something that’s unique but still in the spectrum of carnivore, post it up. It may help inspire someone to stick with their diet plan and reach their goals by introducing something new to their diet.

Make sure you are getting plenty of animal fat, plus magnesium. Magnesium citrate will work for sure. I will say I was a little backed up about 3 weeks ago BUT that was do to my consumption of some cough syrup and about a dozen sugar free cough drops over a 3 day period. After I dropped the meds everything went back to normal. I found that strange how cough meds affected my system now being a carnivore.

Oh I’m a big time fat eater and I did the magnesium citrate route and it definitely helped but the consistency of the stools were like peanut butter. Not pleasant at all.
I switched to a magnesium complex and it was what worked best for me. After about a year everything straitened itself out and I don’t have to take anything any more.
Occasionally I’ll get a hard stool but it generally passes easy enough.

It's easy to jump to the conclusion that red meat might be the problem, because it is rich in iron, and ferritin is the protein that stores iron. However, you can actually have high ferritin and low iron, so the relationship isn't always a direct relationship.

There are really two main causes of high ferritin levels:

1) Absorbing more than normal (hereditary hemochromatosis).

2) A reactionary response to inflammation such as: metabolic syndrome (obesity, diabetes), liver disease, daily alcohol, infections, cancers like Hodgkin’s lymphoma and leukemia, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus).

I think you and your doctor are going to have to do a little more digging. Check your liver, your inflammation markers, and more. 

In the meantime, replacing red meat with some seafood and chicken is just fine. You may need to use more butter or other animal fats though to acheive lasting satiety.

I cooked five Chuck steaks, five chicken thighs, two big packs of boneless country style pork ribs, two extra thick pork chops and 12 hard boiled eggs before leaving for a five day trip to ride side by sides in West Virginia. Each day I reach in a grab a gag as we head out. Each day is a surprise meal on the trail.

I a cup of coffee with butter.

I didn't take a picture but I ate a few pieces of chicken and 3 eggs, sunny side up. I also had yogurt. I will now force myself to eat some ground beef with butter, but no more than 1 or 2 small patties. I'll add some pepper as well. I figured instead of fasting to fight the meat aversion, I'll just ignore it, push through and hope for the best.

@Mesa_John That chicken looks really good.

It is 3:45AM and I just about the door to light the fire barrel.

We are cooking two briskets today. One, will be with the off-set smoker and the other on the pig cooker.

The one on the pig cooker will be a combination of direct and indirect heat. Coals will be under the aluminum foil, forcing the smoke/heat to the other end of the grill with that end stack covered forcing the smoke to the other end.

Should be a good day.

Should be a good day. Anything more than heat and meat and I’m living above my raisings. Salt and pepper is as far into “the luxuries” as I can go and this is because everyone else eating today likes the sauces and seasonings. I’m good at “meat and heat”.

I love a good "smoking day"! I get up before dawn to light the fire and get the tunes going, then make a huge pot of coffee for the morning session. Push on till 165'F, Wrap and head for 203'F. Kind of hard to beat a day like that. I use a homemade rub, and have never done just salt and pepper but I'd be willing try that once. I see on lots of places that is all they use.

That chicken looks great. I was just at the store on the weekend and was going to grab chicken wings, but it wasn't "on the list" so of course due to failing memory I forgot them.
