  2. O Lord, lead me in Thy righteousness because of my foes; make Thy way straight before me. There is nothing reliable in what they say; their inward part is destruction itself; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Hold them guilty, O God . . . for they are rebellious against Thee. But let all who take refuge in Thee be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and mayest Thou shelter them, that those who love Thy name may exult in Thee. For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O LORD, Thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield. —PSALM 5:8-12 I hope and pray that this doesn’t sound blasphemous but when reading this during my devotional I just couldn’t help but apply this to our daily journey as carnivores. It resonates with me in how we deal with those who rail against us in our WOE be it doctors, scientists, family or the general public. I’m afraid this sounds like I’m trying to make this WOE a religion, I’m not, but I constantly find how scriptures constantly apply to us in everything we do. After all the word bible is a wonderful acronym. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

  4. Hello everyone, very glad to be here and find this community. I have been looking into Carnivore for quite a while, pretty much understood what it is a lifestyle. I started last week, so almost a week, and adjusting my eating habits throw-out as I go. I gave up soda and all that 15 years ago, have been drinking lots of water since then. One thing I was doing was having Dunkin donuts coffee bottled mocha. I haven't had one in almost a week, and the cravings for chocolate and coffee are going away. I absolutely love steak, meat all that and with the butter, but I do like salads (not given in to eating the vegetables or lettuce). Just simple, meat, eggs, butter, and water and of course salt. I have been watching Dr Barry, Dr Shawn Baker, Dr letterman, Old Guy Carnivore and much more. For me a lot of this make sense, I love history especially the past, and I know looking back humans did not eat the way we eat today, especially with all the additives and progression of the food industry. I am excited about my new journey, and I already am starting to see some changes, sleep, headaches and most important is my low blood sugar, I usually have to eat every so often, they always tell me always take candy with you in case your busy and it goes down. But I never would I always just run for protein, like a burger, chicken, chicken tenders, or something like that, and of course I felt better, so for me this made sense. I also have an issue with IBS and I have noticed that recently my tummy is much better. Thank you, nice to meet you all. Do you all have a group's that meet up? Melissa

  5. Quick recap. 90+ days in and I stopped pain and inflammation medicine in May. No issues. I lost 54lbs thus far. My daily/across the board energy levels are higher than they have been in a lot of years. I'm getting to the gym and walking on my days off. I noticed sort of early on I was sleeping much better but maybe the big difference is when I wake up it is like a switch. Bam, eyes open ready to go immediately. Which leads to some weirdness. I was in the military and one of the things learned in the military is to sleep when you can. I can remember a 15-minute power nap feeling like an 8-hour snooze fest. You also learned to tune a lot out. I slept in a torpedo room on a nuclear-powered sub and slept thru firing torpedoes. I slept thru Hurricane Fran and walked outside to a different planet. My wife can vacuum in the bedroom, and I won't be bothered. But with that said, since those military days all you have to do is say my name and I pop tall ready to go. Since my 20's I have been able to sleep thru anything except my name. Everything the same after carnivore except we had a dog emergency the other night and my wife was yelling my name from the living room, and I never heard it. She came to the door and did the same/ She said I never flinched. The next night she had to actually touch me to wake me up. I have been sleeping really well since the switch, but I didn't know I was a couple hairs away from a coma. LOL. I am not complaining but do find it weird. Scott

  6. OK, this is too weird, this might be a coincidence but you won’t believe this I’ve had neuropathy in both feet for several years now and no doctor could tell me what’s going on and why it’s happening or how to fix it so I’ve just lived with it. for several years now and no doctor could tell me what’s going on and why it’s happening or how to fix it so I’ve just lived with it. I realized a day or two ago that I could feel my feet, and just now I realized I can feel myself tickle my feet and it makes me jump, the only part that’s really numb now is the toes and they’re not even really that numb. and just now I realized I can feel myself tickle my feet and it makes me jump, the only part that’s really numb now is the toes and they’re not even really that numb. It feels funny to walk because it feels like I’m walking on pillows, I can feel the bottom of my feet now

    What Did You Eat Today?

Love me some corned beef but I’ve never had it from a can. I’m thinking I need to cook one up now. Spent all morning mowing on my father in law’s place then all afternoon cooking. Got a half gallon of yogurt started. That’ll be done tomorrow. Then I started smoking 12 pounds of bacon and a couple of baby back ribs. The bacon is being chilled for slicing tomorrow and the ribs were fantastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What Did You Eat Today?

Well, at last, my partner has decided to join me and that has helped tremendously. I have been about 80% carnivore for ages but 'treated' myself to a weekly bottle of red wine and bar of chocolate. We've been 'clean' for 10 days now. At the moment, recipes have gone out the window. I just cook things like chicken thighs with the skin on, hard-boiled, eggs, and a sort of ground beef pie with eggs and seasonings with cheese on top. We just take a portion and eat it cold or microwave it. I also do other things like pork steaks, beef steaks, and salmon. We've always sat down around the table for family meals but that's kind of gone at the moment with my daughter cooking her carby meals for herself and my partner and I eating when we are hungry. I bought sardines today. Couldn't find them in brine so had to settle for olive oil. I'm definitely feeling better day-by-day.

  13. Today is 7 months since I started Carnivore. This morning, I tipped the scales at 223lbs which is 83lbs less than 7 months ago. I have not taken pain medicine nor inflammation medicine since late May/early June. I have Neuromyelitis Spectrum Disorder (basically Multiple Sclerosis but attacks the optic nerves). Other than a couple bouts with some bath room issues, I have only positives. The last month I have bounced around 76-79lbs lost. During that same time I dropped pant size for 40 to 38. Lost inches with pounds basically remaining the same. My weight loss has been erratic yet consistent, if that makes sense. The first thirty pounds came off pretty much a pound a day but from there it has been drops, mini-stalls/stabilize, then drops. I was on 79 a couple different time last week and week before but never actually touching 80. 4lb drop from yesterday til today. No change in diet, actually eating more as of late. At 55 I'm increasing the work in the gym and hoping to build some muscle/off set age related muscle loss as well as knowing it is the best defense against the muscle issues with NMO/SD. 7 months and I have pretty much nothing but positives. So much so, my wife is starting tomorrow. I am hoping this is the biggest positive yet. Scott

  15. Hi! I'm Amber. I have been on various low carb diets before with quite a bit of success, but in all of those successes, it was when I severely limited even veggies that I found myself feeling the best. So, after gaining all and more back, I decided maybe adding all of those "safe carbs" back was a bad idea, and it was a gateway to definitely NOT safe carbs that I started craving! My first week I had some decent headaches, but only one migraine day and I consider that an absolute success. It has become obvious to me in the last couple years that sugar greatly exacerbates my migraines. I am doing classic carnivore, so meats, dairy, and some spices, coffee, and tea. I am going to try to slowly wean myself off of those extras. I have cut many of the spices already. I weightlift 3 times a week, full body. I have been doing that for years off and on, so I am not adding any extra exercise. I also hike with a backpack with my husband on some weekends. I joined a forum because it seems that I do the best when I can actually read other peoples' trials and successes and interact with people doing the same thing, and I don't think the forums on My Fitness Pal go any further than keto. Thanks for reading!

  16. Just found the site and glad to be here. I went Carnivore ~27 months ago and it has been a true miracle for me. I was on SSRIs, and later SSRIs and Adderall, for 42 years. 42 YEARS!!! I've been off all since starting the Carnivore life and my depression and anxiety have been healed. I thank God. Amazing. Incredible. Since then I've also quit smoking/vaping (43 years) and lost 33 lbs and life has just been really good. I look forward to learning more and meeting my fellow Carneys! God bless you all.

  17. I have been on the diet 90 days as of today. I had some immunoglobulin blood work done earlier in the week and the results just posted. My Immunoglobulin A numbers were still high at 388 (signs of infection and inflammation from an underlying illness) and my IM m numbers were low (51) which is actually improved from May. I have had nothing but the positives of the carnivore diet the first 90 days so there are zero complaints. I thought i would see a better number on the 'infections and inflammation' IMG a because I have not had to use any pain nor anti-inflammatory medicines since May. (Knocking on wood) I have not been sick since way early in the year. The IMG m number showed improvement, but I guess part of me was swinging for the fences. LOL My Vitamin D numbers jumped considerably to normal. I have been taking Vitamin D supplements for the longest and the numbers just lulled around really low. That is a plus. I think I am going to go with 'it has only been 90 days' and go from there. 52lbs and pain free within the first 90 days is not too shabby. There will be another set in November. Like with everything, time will tell. Scott

    One week weigh in

I made it through the first week! No cheats, cravings or withdrawal symptoms and I feel pretty good. I dropped 9 pounds and I know a good bit was water but that's fine. I am back below 300 and I really hope to never see over 300 again!! My goal is 220lbs so 9 down and 75 to go.

  19. Ok...I just realized something else...my 5x urinating a night has stopped. I can go a whole night's sleep and only pee 1 or 2 times....no emergencies..... Normally if I have to pee...IT'S ON! I was driving home a couple of weeks ago and peed my pants because I couldn't hold it....now...I can say " I have to pee..." and if I don't immediately run to the bathroom...it's no big deal.... amazing.

  22. I just had my first Ribeye since starting this 6 days ago. So Chuck steaks are good, don't get me wrong, but they are miles from a Ribeye!! Man it was amazing cooked in bacon fat and topped with butter cooked rare but well seared in a cast iron skillet. Just wow nothing has tasted that good to me in many many years, even other Ribeyes!

  23. Robert, you are an addict. An addict must abstain from their drug of choice. It don matter if it’s alcohol, heroin, tobacco or sugar. I once quit dipping snuff for two years but I though just one dip wouldn’t hurt. Bam! I was hooked all over again. It was nine years before I tried quitting again. I’ve been clean of tobacco for 18 years now but I know that I can never allow tobacco in any form ever touch me again or I’ll be hooked all over again There’s no such thing as moderation. An alcoholic can’t just have a beer. A heroin addict can’t just smoke a joint. You are a sugar addict so you should abstain from not just sugar but everything that’s sweet including all artificial sweeteners and milk products. Be aware that there are 75 different names for sugar so read your food labels carefully for those hidden sugars. There are those who are not addicts and can moderate but if you can’t then you must stay away from it. I can drink one beer and not touch another one for several years. It doesn’t bother me but I’m not an alcoholic. I just choose not to drink anything that is loaded with carbs. Make your choice what is best for you and your health. My choice was no sweeteners whatsoever. I don’t need the temptation. If you’ll give it at least 30 days I think you could kick the addiction. I’ve heard some do it in two weeks. Who’s stronger, you or the sugar? [emoji2955] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pic for attention, lol. This was a few weeks ago. I took my parents out to A Plus Crab in Cuyahoga Falls, which is a seafood boil restaurant. These were the raw oysters I got as an appetizer. My dad got me into these. Totally delicious and chock full of Omega-3's, vitamins, and minerals. On Saturday I attended a graduation party. I had a chicken breast and Italian sausages. And then Sunday, a family reunion on my wife's side, where I was able to have hot dogs and hamburger patties. I was able to make it work, but had to put up the palm when people would say "Aren't you gonna have any cAkE??"

  30. It's crazy though, isn't it? The information just wasn't available. I always considered myself to be quite healthy. No medications. Then I started to get pain all over my diet so went full-tilt into low-carb. The pain did subside only to be replaced by arthritis in my hips. I bet I could have prevented it all along if only I'd known.

  33. Hello everybody, Went lite carnivore a week before, just halving rice/chips and adding more meat to my meals. Started dreaming every single night. First day on actual carnivore(1-31-2025), I immediately fell off the bandwagon. Had milk and magic mind with breakfast which was a hotdog and scrambled eggs. Lunch had leftovers from breakfast but got sugar cravings so ate ketchup with it. Then binged on some dried cranberries (cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil). Decided that dinner would be unadulterated carnivore. Made pork chops and hard boiled eggs sliced in half and drizzled gravy(from a youtube comment under a carnivore video) over both. Made said gravy by melting a stick of butter on low heat, whisking 2 TB of cream cheese(it separated) and then vigorously whisking in some cold whole milk(closest thing to heavy cream I had on hand. Also this fixed the separation issue.) and a little parmesan cheese. Gravy was rich and delicious and helped spice up the hard boiled eggs. It was so good I didn't have any cravings afterward. Had leftovers for breakfast the next day. For lunch I made some burger patties with salt and pepper with hard boiled eggs on the side and monterey jack cheese melted over both. I usually get exhausted after lunch but I feel good. Dinner is going to be steak and mozzarella sticks(with pork rinds).

  36. I have cooked with both ... or maybe I should say all three - uh, all four Let me explain: I have a cast iron skillet that is at least 75 years old and has had the same seasoning on it for over 40 years. I use it often and prefer it for many things. When it comes to stainless steel, that video only covered one type of stainless cookware. He was cooking on an induction burner. That requires the bottom of the pan/pot to be magnetic. Good quality stainless (high nickel content) is not magnetic. So, an actual non-clad stainless pan will not work on the induction burner. Likewise, there is also copper bottom stainless cookware. Again, that will not work on an induction burner. The pan he was using was "clad" on the bottom, giving it a "heavy" bottom. The clad material has less nickel and can operate on the induction burner since the lower nickel content will allow it to be magnetic. Whatever that pan was clad with is what gave it the heat holding attributes, nit the pan being stainless. Cast iron is magnetic. For this test to be accurate, he should have used a gas burner and each of the three types of stainless pans as well as the cast iron pan. I have cooked in an actual stainless non-clad pan as well as copper bottom and clad stainless. I like stainless. I like it for browning and cooking ground beef as well as some other things. However, for cooking "flat meat" (non-ground) like a steak, I refer the cast iron.

  42. This was sparked by the thread on 'still having cravings'. We have a local parts store that is one of the old school stores where the guy behind the counter has built a small block Chevrolet, changes his own oil and turns his own wrenches, a true mom and pop place. I have been going there since I was a kid with my Pops, so much so, they call me by my Pops name more than they do mine. Old school place of business. There has been a gum ball machine in that place since I was a little boy. I would dig a nickel out of the ash tray every time we went as a kid. When I built my first motor at 18 I used a dime to get a gum ball and never failed to get one on each trip. Recently I started back on my 1950 Chevrolet truck and went to the parts store. Maybe the first time since Carnivore. As I walked in the door I never blinked, popped in a quarter and was already chewing before I thought about 'sugar' and 'cravings' and 'addictions' and anything of the sort. Just simply did what I have been doing for nearly 50 years. I think it tasted good til my brain caught up with my actions and then it didn't taste all that good. I pretty much did the same thing with steak sauce a few months ago. Anyway, a quick funny I guess. I doubt the gum ball will be my gateway drug to a 'sugar-crazed-addiction', or at least I hope not. LOL Muscle memory can come in crazy ways. Scott

    1 Year Carniversary

Exactly one year ago I made the decision to go carnivore. Here's the positives: About 70% of my health concerns have gone away, an incredible improvement for someone with auto immune condition and chronic pain. I feel my teeth have gotten stronger, less sensitive, no bleeding gums, less plaque build up. My skin has gotten better as well, less blemishes on my face, and overall healthy complexion. My muscle tone is off the charge, six pack abs, defined shoulders, traps, lats, overall a more muscular look. The bath room visit is quick, clean, and smooth, I can't remember when I had a belly ache. I haven't been sick once during this year. My workouts are less painful, I feel strong and supple. After a brief dip in strength, it came back to its original state. My brain is more focused, quicker on the draw, I notice this most when driving in busy traffic, or when I read. Less emotional mood swings, more stable. Here's the negatives: While I love my new body composition, I feel my face is a little to thin, I guess that comes with the territory. The social disconnect when it comes to eating, it has a different meaning to me now, and I have such a different schedule. The limitation when traveling, the easiness of grabbing a pop tart and head out the door, not a huge deal though, convenience and comfort is an enemy, it makes one soft. So that is briefly my summation of my experience during the year of carnivore. During this year I've had half a slice of cheese cake, half a cookie, a piece of chocolate here and there. But it never invited a way back to carbs for me. All these transgressions were paired with some sort of social event, and haven't interfered with any weight goals -as I don't have any. I've learned how to taste food in an entire new way, my sense of taste was reset thus the occasional lapse resulted in being overwhelmed by the sweetness and my physical reaction to it. I've gained so much awareness about eating and nutrition. Overall a good experience, and I am on to my next year. Weight change in a year: from 148lbs. to 133lbs.

  47. You know the funny thing is that people really have been eating this way since the dawn of time, thousands and thousands of years, Protein and fat has been their main thing they consumed. Indians and many others including traders in the 1800's and so, people who built this country ate primarily a protein diet. They did have gardens and farms, but you are talking about an era that there were no real contamination of pesticides and chemicals the way we have it today. Everything basically today is man made, with dangerous toxins and chemicals to the point are poor bodies cannot handle any of it. They are reacting back, first time in history all of us are in serious trouble because of this era. Which really makes no sense to me at all, we seem to know it all, but apparently, we haven't learned much, because if we don't remember where we came from our past, we are doomed. The other thing we allow toxins and different chemicals in our food and environment WHEN other countries in Europe and well many others, will not allow it in their food or environment. Like roundup, they still sell it to this day when they know it has a link to cancer and there was a huge lawsuit over it. Just makes no sense at all. This makes sense, people who traveled and walked on foot for miles and miles, people who lived outside 24/7 in tents and igloos and teepees, and cabins. People who built this country, if they didn't die by freezing to death, animals, war or some other personal clash or accident, they lived and thrived. American Indians and the Eskimo people are a living testament to this today. They lived off of the animal, every part, and in winter, like south Dakota and other areas there was no vegetation to thrive on and if there were, it was frozen over or covered. Some of these Indians lived well into their 90's and above, even today some Okinawan's elderly have lived over 120 years, they eat a lot of protein and thrive. Now here's the sad part, some on the mainland have started to eat a western diet, and now many of them are also becoming obese and have a diabetes and other diseases.

This week has been rather repetitive. I buy eggs and NY strips in bulk, and the wife is refusing steak, lol. So literally every day I have had eggs and sauage for breakfast, and a NY Strip for dinner. I've been skipping lunch or just having a beef stick to hold me over, which is basically the pattern I had when I lost a bunch of weight while my ankle was broken. I'm 5 lbs down as of this morning, at 172, which is officially 60 lbs down now and the lowest I have seen on the scale.
