Sherry reacted to louis in What Did You Eat Today? So I ate many eggs again today. This time with Ghee!
They were lovely.

I no longer have gas. Like, none. My digestive system isn't audible anymore, like some clapped out old car. It chugs along silently and peacefully. That's so nice.
My skin is clear, I just wish someone had told me the no-sugar secret back when I was a teen with dreadful cystic acne.
My teeth hurt a lot when I was a cookie monster, and my gums suffered. No bleeding anymore when I brush, and no toothaches.
I think my breath is sweeter in the morning?
And I think I'm definitely less emotional. My moods aren't being dictated by sugar anymore, so life just feels a lot more stable.

Sherry got a reaction from Steven2023 in What Did You Eat Today? How do you cook it? Because that looks perfect to me. I like how it's blackened on the outside and pink in the middle.

Sherry got a reaction from Steven2023 in What Did You Eat Today?I had a ribeye today with butter and parmesan for lunch. Also 2 coffees with heavy whipping cream. I'm planning on making another ribeye for dinner. I also had a hunk of cheddar this morning.

Sherry reacted to Bob in SupplementationWelcome Sephiroth. I dig the name, as I am currently playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 😄
I'm going to copy and paste your list and replace your comments with mine...
1. Fiber -Not needed, like never.
2. Probiotics/Prebiotics - Not needed. Carnivore fixes gut microbiome.
3. Butyrate/Butyric acid - Butter is the best source. Butyrate and Butter come from the same root word.
4. BHB Ketones supplement - Might fast track adaptation.
5. Methylsulfonylmethane - Provides sulfer. There is sulfer in meat, fish, eggs, and organs.
6. Glucosamine - Probably not needed. Supplements are synthetic or made from shellfish shells. You can find it in cartilage and bones of animals, so maybe bone broth would deliver you some, as opposed to eating the shells of lobsters and crabs, lol.
7. Collagen -bone broth, bone marrow, chicken with the skin, fish with the skin, eggs, gelatin, and then oysters can boost your own collagen production.
8. Glycine - plenty in your meat, fish, and dairy.
9. Q10 - plenty in organ meats, fatty, fish, some muscle meats, and eggs. Your body will also make it's own.
10. Minerals - tough call here. Many keto carnivores will take an electrolyte supplement. You CAN get it all from meat, but you have to eat a heck of a lot. We used to get it in our water, but today our water is filtered and these trace minerals are often removed.
11. Omega 3s - abundant in seafood, and plenty in pasture raised eggs and grass fed grass finished beef.
12. Vitamin A - found in butter, egg yolks, and whole milk. There's a TON in liver, to the point where eating too much liver can be toxic.
13. Vitamin B (group) - Meats are the best souce of B vitamins
14. Vitamin C - There is vitamin C in your muscle meat and organs, albeit very little. Vitamin C gets taken in through the same receptor as glucose. Since you aren't eating sugars, these receptors can take up all the vitamin C because it isn't competing with glucose. Carnivores don't get scurvy, so the amount of vitamin C we get must be adequate.
15. Vitamin D (+ K) - Vitamin D is found in oily fish, eggs, and cheese, AND you synthesize your own. But if you live in northern climates and don't get a lot of sun, you may want to supplement. You will get plenty of bioavailable Vitamin K2 on the carnivore diet.
16. Vitamin E - grass fed meat, fish, eggs, and salmon
17. https://health.selfdecode.com/blog/carnivore-diet/ What you think about this? -> Here's the thing. If you take water soluble vitamins and your body doesn't need them, you simply excrete them through your urine. Fat soluble vitamins, such as A and D, will accumulate in your body. So if you feel more comfortable supplementing, it's probably harmless, but also a waste of money.
18. Geranylgeraniol - Your body synthesizes this, makes it own.
Hope this helps 🙂

Sherry reacted to butterfly in Hello all 🙂My name's Isla, I'm in the UK (northern Ireland) and I've been eating high-fat carnivore for just over a year now. I'm a former sugar addict (honestly, I used to be the girl who'd just order from the dessert menu in restaurants if she could get away with it!) and it's so nice to be off that rollercoaster. There's a family history of diabetes, and I'm hoping I'll be able to dodge that bullet if I stick to carnivore. The first week was tough, but since then I haven't had any cravings for anything but meat and butter. I must admit, I probably eat too much butter, and the cholesterol test results I got lately were kind of terrifying, so I think maybe I need to cut out the butter and increase the fatty meat and eggs. So that's my project for Year 2: more beef!

Yes! Just about to post about indigestion and heartburn - lack of…. I no longer need my prescribed medication. I’ve suffered with the above for as long as I can remember and used to think the problem was fatty food!

Sherry reacted to Andre in 100 days on a Strick Carnivore DietI am now 100 days in a Strick Carnivore diet(I only eat meats and eggs. Nothing more) I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a healthy guy with no chronic illness or healthy problems.
I lost about 15 lbs in the first 6 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 6 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements)
I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor can I change my body composition.
So I would like to ask more experienced Carnivores:
1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnviroa diet to be able to lose the excess weight I still have?
2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?
Thank you for your attention
Good luck to everyone

Sherry reacted to atlsrt44 in New from georgiaStarted carnivore diet jan 1. I wont lie and say it has been easy by any means. I never realized how many things have sugar in them.
I was enjoying ham steaks at first until i looked and realized they had sugar in them too.
Now i primarily eat local beef to include alot of cheeseburgers and cheaper cuts of steak.
Bacon and eggs are also a staple. Its nice since i have my own free range chickens so the eggs are fresh and plentiful.
The first couple weeks sucked for sure but im feeling pretty good now. I still hear the same stuff from everyone (that cant be healthy, youre going to have a heart attack, you must be constipated with all that meat).
To date im down 26lbs. Ive managed to not cheat and im very strict on what i eat. 1 carb or 1 gram of sugar is a no go.
I take nmn and gnc multi pak daily. Any other supplements you recommend?

Sherry got a reaction from Bob in Starting KetovoreSince you were diagnosed with diabetes, it might be the problem. It could make you a slow loser. I believe that's what happened to me. I suddenly started gaining weight a few years ago and it didn't matter what I did, I just kept gaining weight. Anyway, I got on keto and then eventually carnivore and the weight started to very slowly come off. I would stick with carnivore and eliminate the nuts and see what happens. But give it time. You may have to make this a permanent way of eating to become healthy.
-
Sherry reacted to Geezy in Starting KetovoreWelcome Calendyr, Bob is of course spot on with his assessment.
If you want to be strict carnivore you need to eat only animal fats, animal protein, salt and water.
If you want to be truly metabolically healthy you need to eliminate all seeds, seed oils, sugars and that includes non sugar sweeteners, grains and vegetable matter.
I include non sugar sweeteners because they are still a processed food that can and will affect your body and health.
In 2014, Israeli scientists made headlines when they linked artificial sweeteners to changes in gut bacteria.
Mice, when fed artificial sweeteners for 11 weeks, had negative changes in their gut bacteria that caused increased blood sugar levels.
When they implanted the bacteria from these mice into germ-free mice, they also had increases in blood sugar levels.
Interestingly, the scientists were able to reverse the increase in blood sugar levels by changing the gut bacteria back to normal.
However, these results haven’t been tested or replicated in humans.
Lastly, give it time. You are way early into this eating lifestyle. I’ve known of many people who start out having trouble losing weight. Some have even taken months because it just took time for them to become fat adapted. Look up Kelly Hogan. Tremendous testimony from her and just look at what she has accomplished just by hanging in there.
Everyone is different and their metabolism reacts differently so don’t judge yourself against what has worked for others. Also, try to remember that this is not a weight loss diet, it’s first and foremost a healing lifestyle. Losing weight is just a side benefit.
Good luck on your journey.

I was just reminded of another benefit I have gotten from my carnivore diet....
No more acne. I used to get infected hairs in all sorts of places (I am a hairy guy). But I haven't had a white-head to squeeze in ages.

I wanted to piggy-back on the Less Burning on Carnivore. I actually experienced this 1st hand 3 years ago when I was 100% carnivore for a year. I didn't burn. I would spend so much time outside, even at the beach, and never burned.
