Meathead reacted to Bob in Help Regarding My Blood Sugars
So you are experiencing the "dawn phenomenon" as mentioned above. And the reason it takes so long to come down is because you are still diabetic and not taking insulin anymore. As a Type II Diabetic, you have one or both of these issues going on: 1) Your cells are insulin resistant, and 2) Your pancreas produces insufficient amounts of insulin.
A normal healthy person would see that morning blood sugar spike come down fairly fast, but for you it takes until the evening. You can either choose not to worry about it or resume some insulin, to which you will not need nearly as much as you were taking before.

So, I'm a bit indifferent when it comes to salt. IMO, the additives in typical table salt are trivial. But, Redmond's and Pink Himalayan salts are going to have more minerals in them because it hasn't been refined. You're actually doing the opposite of what you think you are doing. There is no potassium in table salt, but there IS potassium in Redmond's salt.

I had NY Strips last night.
The wife is starting to kick against steak and burger again, lol. I keep buying in bulk at Sam's Club, but it doesn't get eaten fast enough and ends up in the freezer. I'm going to have to stop buying fresh for a while because I have quite the collection going on, lol.

TABLE SALT shouldn't be consumed for ANY reason. Look at the label.
Get some blood work done so you have a better idea instead of possibly doing yourself more harm by chancing it's this or that.
Eat BBB&E religiously along with electrolytes religiously for 90 days this will give your body time to regulate then get blood work done (fasting) of course.

From WebMD
Chicken breast has the highest amount at 332 milligrams of potassium per 3-ounce serving. Beef and turkey breast contain 315 and 212 milligrams, respectively.
Hope this helps.

FATTY beef or other ruminant animals.
Fat>protein as that's where you will get most of your energy.
Table salt no Bueno, only use Redmond real salt or Himalayan <single source or Celtic sea salt. Table salt has sugar and anti caring agent which neither are healthy.
You can make electrolytes with Redmond real salt and water if you can't stand taste add a squeeze of lemon juice.
Carnivore lifestyle works best without seed oils, carbs and sugar 😋
I like to eat omad, drinking my electrolytes all day until I get hungry.

Hi and welcome aboard.
This lifestyle is super beneficial but will have hiccups, stalls and the dreaded falling back to carbs and sugars.
Make sure you get a benchmark blood work starting and annual, drink electrolytes religiously.
Congratulations on your journey and best wishes for you to achieve your goals.

So I cooked up bacon and eggs today but the dining room floor decided it was hungrier.
Ended up grilling this after I cleaned up their mess 😜
Having 1lb 80/20 minced beef for supper.

Atophogy will happen.
The thing is you can't stray from carnivore (cheating or anything), drink electrolytes religiously and stay as active as you can.
I was 300lbs dropped to 265, I'm 6ft 1 in.
Lost my man cans,2 inches of belly with no exercise but I'm constantly on my feet every day.

Honestly the people working in medical field should use their common sense alas they're sheep like most of society walking through life with blinders while looking down upon the lowly layman who knows nothing because they don't have a FORMAL education like they do.
Unfortunately you can't apply everything by protocol you have to improvise or make something work with what you have.
Like when wife's Dr said ketosis is bad and go to the ER if I happen to get it. <<<< I had to walk away before she heard me laughing at her.

Thanks, Geezy. I probably need to do more fasting. I have removed dairy, and that seems to be helping some. My brother was visiting this week, so was off plan a bit, but not bad. The worst was fries one night at a restaurant, which made me feel quite trashy. The rest was only a small amount of veg. I am including a few dry roasted cashews, and a bit of cucumber, and the only meat is beef. I'm feeling much less inflamed since removing dairy.

Thank you and yes I’m very happy with my weight but I am at the very bottom of the weight scale for my height.
I am in full maintenance mode now. Since I’m hitting the weights a little now I may even put some back on but this time it will be muscle and not fat.

Yeah, I've read about on autophagy and I know it's fantastic in regards to recycling old and damaged cells, which in itself is great, especially the anti-cancer aspect.
I do expect autophagy will help with some lose skin, but I just wasnt expecting to see it so soon. I'm only down 50lbs of the near 200lbs I want to lose. I should look about more into Dr Jason Fung to see if I can get a better picture of how much weight his patients that experienced no significant loose skin lost.
Congrats on your weight loss too buddy!
And the loss of the man cans! 🤣
Fingers crossed I can lose mine too, haha!
But sure! Thanks for the advice! I have been getting more and more active slowly, but I should get back to some weight training. I bought a bench and some neat adjustable dumbells, so I have what I need to build some lean mass. Just need to pull my finger out of my butt.

I smoked a chuck roast roast today. First time I tried one of those and it will not be the last. It was delicious. In fact it was so good I totally forgot to take a picture.

At my age the skin doesn’t snap back like it used to. I’ve been stable at 165lbs and 6 feet tall now for a couple of months after losing 60 pounds. There is a lot of loose skin all over. The skin on my arm will wrinkle up if I hold my are in the right position. I’m lifting weights to see if that will help and I’m hoping atophagy will kick in but I don’t know if it works that well in people my age. Doesn’t matter though. It’s not going to change how I eat one way or the other.

Thanks so much, y'all! I've recently been having pretty bad leg cramps at night, which is how I stumbled onto this site. I have not taken electrolytes up to this point but just got some new potassium/magnesium supplements. Haven't taken them long enough to know if they'll be effective yet. I've been eating a lot more seafood recently as opposed to beef. Not sure if that would make a difference but something is different! What do y'all think?

Just was told to drink Gatorade 12 oz before surgery. They said not to drink my Redmond real salt and water mixture.
Studies have been done those who drank Gatorade fared better than drinking water or nothing with their blood glucose due to the electrolytes.
So I just chuckled and agreed so I can get off the phone with that mentally and cook my ribeye.
