“He spoke another parable to them, ‘The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened’” (Matthew 13:33).
Small things often have a great influence, which is the point of Jesus’ parable here.
If you have ever made bread, especially a sourdough bread you can use the starter over and over to make new bread and never run out. It is said that the best sourdough bread is still using the same stater from over a hundred years ago.
So what influence do you have as a carnivore? People tend to watch each other and are easily influenced by what they see, so be a good influence to those around you. Be that leavening that causes others to grow and spread the carnivore community so that they may experience what you have experienced.
During this time of year we often gather with many friends and family and you can have a positive influence on those around you as they witness what carnivore has done in your life.
That influence can also be negative as well as positive during the holidays. Will they see you succeed with commitment, determination and discipline or will they perceive that you have failed in your WOE as you indulge in sweets and carbs? We know that a few dalliances into the carb world is not that big a deal and can be fun and that some can easily transition back and forth with no issues but just be aware that if you proclaim the power of eating a proper human diet and then eat the opposite way during times of temptation it can have a negative influence on those around you.
Try to be the leavening that expands and grows our community, it will be worth it in the end.

An interesting observation.

You do influence more by how you act and what you do, and perhaps how you feel, if that makes sense. If they see someone in good spirits, and healthy, that does more than any words.

As I started my carnivore right before the holidays last year, I'll have no problem staying on the path, with regards to the diet. I may indulge in to cuts of meat I normally don't consume on the regular, like lamb. Not even close to being worried about the sweets that will adorn the table that day. That may also be a reason why I may grab a bite of it. I am fortunate not ever to have struggled with weight, so it's unlikely I will trigger a plateau in my weight journey, in fact I could use 2 extra pounds.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
